Q, all due respect but this shop worn and old version of Erik Morales is not on par with Lamont Peterson. Does anyone think Matthysse would not smash Erik like an old beer can in a round? Sad to say that about Erik as I was always a big fan but it’s true.

“Lucas Matthysse Danny Garcia bout is much more interesting for me than the main event.” – Yup. Only reason we’re buying the PPV. My buddy didn’t want to order it but I told him Google Matthysse and then holla. Sure enough, he said alright we’re good to go.

harsh but accurate assessment of a potential Mayweather v. Alvarez scenario. it hadn’t occurred to me that Canelo could be embarrassed(?!) v. Mayweather but there are indicators to favor that scenario. i seriously doubt it (even more compelling factors favor Canelo) but it’s out there to consider.

Garcia is a capable fighter with solid skills and reflexes, that took a good beating v. Judah. nonetheless, the form and leverage of his left-hook is not luck. the boy can Punch and Sock and take a shot, if necessary, to Punch and Sock some more. i don’t think that even a supremely-confident Mathysse is can take Garcia lightly. he’ll certainly lose if he does. that’s how good Garcia is.

This pundit says.., “Danny has a KO over Amir Kahn which, to be fair, was the result of a blind haymaker.

Nonsense… That was a well timed shot that missed the button by 7 inches.

Khan had plenty of opportunity to fight after he got hit… But he kept sprinting away and getting hammered.. What’s the referee to do???

Posted September 13, 2013 7:22 pm

Canelo can hits a lot harder than Shane but not nearly as hard as GGG… Grennady Golovkin would stretch Floyd out flat on the canvas… He can make 154 too.

Floyd has a good chin, but does he have a Canelo proof chin, is the question? Canelo hits harder than Shane, even. And we know how close OLDish Shane came to KO’ing Floyd.

Ishes career is much better than Molina and he can fight better than Molina who just likes to grapple and hold. True Cotto hasn’t bloodied everybody’s nose he hit with the jab, but he has KOd plenty of guys who where hit with the jab and then a follow up punch. The follow up punch is something he couldn’t land on Floyd. Floyd hasn’t had hand issues in a long while till he fought Guerrero. He’s not taking a ped for them, I believe it is a pain killer.

I guess we’ll all see how your theory plays out tomorrow, Rem

Posted September 13, 2013 4:40 pm

Again Mosley has hit a # of fighters with rhat punch and they didn’t blink. Cotto blast everybody with that jab but i can’t remember the last fighter he flushed their nose with it. Floyd has admitted that he had his ribs broke by shots to the body. Floyd has a chronic broken hand that he admittedly takes peds for. Floyd isn’t as durable as the average fighter thats why he’s only fought 7xs in 6 years. I am well versed in what im commenting on.

Posted September 13, 2013 4:25 pm

Floyd was indeed careless against Mosley and paid for it, he was nailed twice in that fight and never hit the canvas. Unfortunately, Mosley was passed it to test Alvarez with the same punch, though I think Canelo can take a good punch he just doesn’t have the stamina to box full 3 minutes for 12 round, and that will be his downfall. If he steps off the gas a bit he will pay for it, if he doesn’t he gasses earlier and give Floyd a bigger winning margin.

Posted September 13, 2013 3:38 pm

If you think Floyd has a weak chin then you don’t know what you’re commenting on.

Posted September 13, 2013 3:31 pm

Canelo couldn’t knock old Shane Mosley out and he’s going to it against Floyd? The Canelo that gasses faster than Butterbeans, Bob Sapp and Kimbo Slice will all of a sudden have the energy and intensity to overwhelm and KO Floyd since we all know that is what it’s going to take, unless Canelo is getting a huge dose of dope, that’s not going to happen. Canelo could win a close and disputable decision though but knocking Floyd out is sinply out of the question. All things being equal, Floyd by close decision.

Canelo has taken on his shoulders the entire weight of all the pride of every man, woman and child in Mexico. Man that’s a lot of pressure to put yourself under.

Money May, MAY just have made an error in judgment this time… But being as cynical as Floyd is… I think he chose this fight so if he loses he can say he went out against the best possible undefeated rising star, with the biggest payday ever. Then if the Mayweather VS Pacquiao talk starts up again… Floyd can retire and say Pac never faced an undefeated star like Alvarez and that Pac should fight him to defend is own WBC, LMW title.

Q-“…The difference between Humberto and Danny, is that Danny is also a very big puncher at 140 who can ice guys…” The other differences are Soto has better footwork, a better jab, a better cross, faster, more compact puncher, all around a better boxer. Soto was just outgunned.

Posted September 13, 2013 1:34 pm

Blind hayemaker… like the one Pac landed on Hatton, or Marquez on Pac. I guess lighting struck Khan 3 times, then, because it wasn’t just one he landed.

Molina ends Smiths weak career Molinas a championship level boxer Smith has no talent. I like Danny but Mattesse is the best jww and a top 10 p4p fighter so Mattesse by k.o. And Canelos underrated i.q and defense along with his size nuetralizes Floyds potshoting and the judges favor Canelos smart pressure possible stoppage of Floyd also by livershot. Floyd fans have fell for the gimmick that Floyd is a cut above the other elite fighters in boxing pure delusion good boxer but more hype than greatness.

I don´t really care about who wins the Mayweather-Alvarez, Garcia-Matthysse and Smith-Molina fights, I am just very glad that they will happen and that they will watch. I have been waiting for a long time.

Tomato Can

I’ve have Matthysse via 8th to 9th round KO, Molina via SD, and tentively Mayweather via Close UD…

Posted September 13, 2013 12:54 pm

Danny is not a big puncher. He has about a 50% KO ratio. What r u talking about Q? Its gonna be a good, excellent competive fight up until Danny decides to trade ( which he is know to do ) with Matthysse. Then its lights out. Matthysse by KO.

Posted September 13, 2013 12:53 pm

A close decision for Floyd as long as he stays focus.

Canelo by KO

The winner of every bout will be the guy with the darkest skin. I am a FMJ nuthugger who waxes bunt and licks balls.

Posted September 13, 2013 12:23 pm

Floyd by late round stoppage due to Canelos stamina problems. Matthiessen by mid to late round stoppage around the 10th. Will be a damn good scrap. Hoping Garcia wins though. Ishe by decision. All Molina likes to do is grapple and hold.

Canelo by KO or Spunkweather by decision…

Robe, tjere are no lucky punches in boxing, windmill or not, they are merely carelessness on the opponents part, if not careful they can land on anyone

Mayweather wins, Garcia wins and Molina wins. Hoping I’m wrong on the first one.

Posted September 13, 2013 10:40 am

I feel if Danny remains cautious without getting into too many exchanges and boxes more, he will walk away with a UD. However, if he throws caution to the wind and prefers to slug it out, it may be a short night for him….rooting for Danny though.
The “scribe” of this article believes that some how Danny was lucky in his win over Khan. He called his winning punch a wind mill punch, sort of the type David Haye wins most of his fights with. I mean, really, does it matter what type of punch is used to win a fight? That train of thought is quite ignorant if not ridiculous. It’s a contact sport. Danny won legally but most of all, he won. If Khan is a sucker for lefts or “windmills,” that’s his problem. Besides, nobody will ever say Danny’s win was controversial unlike Floyds, when he “ko’d” Ortiz with a sucker punch. I would say then Floyd’s title win was by way of sucker punch. Can’t be luckier than that I suppose.

Posted September 13, 2013 10:38 am

So Smith losing to Molina would show that his title win had more to do with him BUT, …..if Matthysee were to win by decision it’s supposed to construed as a step back for him?? WTF?? Gee, what a surprise. Confusing and contradictory for sure. Smith loses…..looks “good”, Matthysee winning……looks bad. Should anyone be surprised by the subjectivity of these stories anymore by ESB?
