PAC is Arums Pet Rat

PAC cant even choose his own fights.

Neither are scared. Regarding the Mayweather fight, this a business move by Arum and Pacquaio. They will not risk Pacquiao against Floyd. If Manny loses, his is career over. From P4P No1 or No2 (depending on your view)to retirement in 2 fights. The Bradley fight was a fix by Arum. He was banking on Mayweather then giving into 50/50 and the numbers from the Bradley fight to be huge. Neither has happened. Bradley’s status hasn’t changed, Pacquiaos stock had fallen and Mayweather now holds all the chips.

Turning down $40 million. Really shows desire to fight doesn’t it.

It’s Mayweather who is scared of Pacquiao and not the other way around!

Could care less who Pacquiao fights unless it’s Marquez and then Mayweather next year. If he fights someone else, I will use my $59.99 PPV money savings towards a round-trip ticket to Reno for a long week-end. No more Bob Arum or blind judges robbery rip-offs for me.

Posted September 13, 2012 12:44 am

I say Marquez, but tr & team pac might settle for the easier route with bradley. If it is Marquez he’ll put up another clinic.Team pac usually waits 4 years to give Marquez a rematch just hoping he declines, instead he only gets better every fight lol idiots.Regardless of the official decision you can guarantee another dominant performance by the great JMM,i mean pac with leg cramps lol.

@Tomato Can, Bradley will give Marquez a great beat down

if Floyd’s still scared, Pacquiao better retire. Fighting recycled opponents is annoying to the sport fans. PAC 8 div titles is unbreakable anymore. Stop making Arum do another f$$$$ng drama.

Posted September 13, 2012 12:32 am

These guys just playing with our head… Screw them! I don’t give a hoot about who Pac will fight next…

Posted September 12, 2012 10:22 pm

This is getting worse than LeBron with “The Decision.”
I never thought I would say this, but I’m really not interested at this point. I would be happy as a clam if Pac came out and announced his retirement on Thursday.

Tomato Can

I thought the Marquez fight was a done deal. WTF? Hell Top Rank might as well give Pacquiao a break (since his heart doesn’t seem to be in it) and put on Marquez/Bradley. Arum holds the cards.

Posted September 12, 2012 10:01 pm

Pacquiao Mayweather

Pacquiao is fighting Marquez again, a fighter he has trouble with and can lose, takes the fights on, that the fans will look back on, he will fight Mayweather but Mayweather messed the fight up years ago, forget Mayweather, he just puts spanners in the works.

Posted September 12, 2012 9:28 pm

Far out, everything that comes from a Top Rank affiliates mouth is pure garbage.
There’s been constant reports saying they’ve signed someone for the fight, then they’re looking for someone for the fight, then they’re ready to announce someone for the fight… which is it!?
There are plenty of really nasty similarities here to everything that came out of the Pacquiao-Mayweather fiasco.
Top Rank, just be honest… just once… please! You might actually like it if you try it!

It’s going to be Marquez again

Posted September 12, 2012 9:05 pm

What do people want Pac to do Floyd still isnt ready to fight him and he just showed y Bradley or any other young fighter for that matter isnt ready for him. Its gonna be Marquez and how can anyone be disappointed this is the only man that can compete with Pac at w.w. This is y i luv the fighter Pac is cant wait for 12/8.

Posted September 12, 2012 9:02 pm

I understand your frustrations on why Manny will have to face Marquez or Bradley again and again, and not other guys. I am frustrated, tool. Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions are the GIANTS that eat up little human beings (boxers). When you are under contract with them, they want you to fight their in-house boxers only so they will keep all the money in-house; it is like when you are employed under your company, you will have to work everything under their rules/work ethics/guidelines to make money for the company. We, fans, know that if PAC is not under contract with Top Rank, he would have fought many other young boxers out there. Boxing needs to be changed.

the primary reason Punkuiao* is choosing Marquez is because he couldn’t compel Cotto down to another catchweight, Bradley can’t bolster his declining PPV appeal, and Punkuiao* wants NOTHING to do v. Mayweather no matter how many multi-millions he’s offered. “better the devil you know than the devil you don’t” is the only options he’s got left. as i predicted, once he ran out of ripe old cherries to pluck, catchweight-compromise, or otherwise set-up, he would be exposed v. the best, equally-prime, and/ or simply superior competition.

Posted September 12, 2012 8:35 pm

@tark, That’s how BAD Manny Pacquiao wants to BEAT Floyd Mayweather before Manny retires. However, so far, team Mayweather still doesn’t want to engage, and maybe never will.

Posted September 12, 2012 8:29 pm

Yeah – just saw the same. I have to give Pac props on taking the fight – Many thought that JMM got the best of him last time, indicating real risk for Pac and a chance for JMM to claim victory. If Pac can clearly prevail though, he will solidify his position with respect to JMM. The only downside would be a repeat of the last fight, which I found to be frustrating in nearly every way.

Didn’t they already pick Marquez last week?

Posted September 12, 2012 7:08 pm

I’m a huge Pacquiao fan, but I don’t want to see either Marquez or Bradley fight Manny! Come on, these guys have fought already, and their won’t be any damn excitement. Put Manny in against Khan, Garcia, Berto, Canelo, Chavez anyone but Boring Bradley or Cry baby, whining, Book writing, knocked down 100 times by Manny, Roided up Marquez. Someone Please tell Flaky ass chicken s Mayweather to get the balls to take on Manny even if it’s 3 yrs too late.

Posted September 12, 2012 7:03 pm

Pac could of made his decision last week, the week before or the week before. He probably is not gonna fight this year and Marquez will fight Bradley

Posted September 12, 2012 7:03 pm

BTW, what about his lawsuit against Floyd Mayweather Jr.? How come we don’t hear about that anymore? Why hasn’t a decision been made? More fog surrounding the Manny Pacquiao image.

Posted September 12, 2012 7:02 pm

“negotiations are complete with the potential opponent…” I agree with Smith on this one: I thought Pacquiao made the final decision–not Arum. What we all really need to do is blow off Manny Pacquiao once and for all. He won’t fight Mayweather, he won’t fight any other champions in the welterweight division–nor has he since he won the WBO title from Miguel Cotto in 2009. He hasn’t fought one single welterweight champion since he took the title from Miguel Cotto. Think about that for a moment. What kind of champion is this guy. He cheated on his wife and lied to her. Do you really believe he has been any more honorable with his fans? I doubt it. Manny Pacquiao has been a circus act for quite a while. Personally, I’m ready to watch a different circus.

Posted September 12, 2012 7:00 pm

this is pure garbage you mean to tell that only bradley and marqueze only fighters pac-man can fight absolutely
ridiculous rematches sucks waste of time

Posted September 12, 2012 5:48 pm

ignorant pactard is what you are!! btw Marquez will KO him this time

Posted September 12, 2012 5:34 pm

why not put manny pacquiao vs jaun guzman .this will be better fight to see and a real test for manny

Posted September 12, 2012 5:31 pm

A+++ says, “PAC was pretending to be slow; not throwing many punches as he used to; no movements, etc.” …. What a clever way to get a fight with Mayweather.. Just pretend to be slow, hittable, and tank a fight.. If you keep that up and nobody will care if you EVER get the Mayweather fight.. You drum up interest by being the most qualified fighter out there — not the worst.

Posted September 12, 2012 5:31 pm

i would guess that Arum thought he could promote Bradley as the man that beat Paquiao, but it kind of backfired on him.

Posted September 12, 2012 5:08 pm

Pacman though should do better than his last fight against Marquez…

Posted September 12, 2012 5:07 pm

The only interesting fighter to follow

Posted September 12, 2012 5:07 pm

i have a funny feeling that if Bradley had not signed on with Top Rank he would not have been handed the decision against Paquiao.there were shenanigans going on there.

Posted September 12, 2012 5:05 pm

A+++ I agree. We the fans hold the power, we should make the powers that be recognize us. It really shouldn’t be such a big deal to find a opponent for pacman. I’m not interested in him or Floyd anymore. They’re not the only boxers. It’s all a big joke. Every fighter should follow in the footsteps of Glen Johnson and just fight! Screw everything else. Screw the overrated tv specials like face off and hbo 24/7’s, I don’t care what boxers do when they’re outside the ring. I could care less. Just respect the sport and fight.

Posted September 12, 2012 4:59 pm

the promoter is always the ultimate decider in the choosing of his fighters opponent.the fighter fights who the promoter says he fights or he may not fight at all!

Posted September 12, 2012 4:57 pm

the public

Pac is an illusion. Him not wanting to rematch Bradley shows the decline in his heart also, THE ONLY thing that made him who he was. After Marquez beats the crap out of him I would hope Pac retires.

Posted September 12, 2012 4:56 pm

Top Ranks and Golden Boy Promotions kill boxing. They only match up their own boxers against each other. Boxing is about making money, not a sport anymore; champions DON’T fight champions if one is scared of the other (no more mandatory challenges); the best CAN’T fight the best because of promoters’ restrictions, etc. We, boxing fans, should form a GIANT FORUM to petition to the US and WORLD Athletic Commissions to make CHANGES.

Posted September 12, 2012 4:46 pm

Bob Arum recently stated that, “US Pay-Per-View Networks are reluctant to do a Bradley fight because he doesn’t draw big numbers.”

Posted September 12, 2012 4:37 pm

Folks, Bradley had NO competition whatsoever against PAC. In addition, Bradley is a “no name, no fame” boxer which dropped PAC’s standard PPV sales down to 900,000. Bob Arum recently stated that, “US Pay-Per-View Networks are reluctant to do a Bradley fight because he doesn’t draw big numbers.” With that said, how would PAC fight against such low class boxer if Cable Networks don’t even want Bradley.

Posted September 12, 2012 4:35 pm

For PAC’s last two to three fights, PAC was pretending to be slow; not throwing many punches as he used to; no movements, etc. to BAIT Floyd to eat the poisonous bait. However, Al Haymon and Floyd Mayweather are knew that the PACMAN just plays the TRICKS and TRAPS, so they still don’t want to make the biggest mistake of their lives by signing a contract. I agree with what team Mayweather is doing because the best strategy for them is to avoid the PACMAN.

Posted September 12, 2012 4:29 pm

kinda lost respect for pacman and his team…..they should be calling out the Bradley rematch like theres no tommorrow.

Posted September 12, 2012 4:25 pm

Whoever the PACMAN fights next, he will brutally beat him up so badly to SCARE Floyd even further away.

Posted September 12, 2012 4:23 pm

Agree with the writer for the most part, BUT disagree with what he says, “He (Arum) needs to make the Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight already. ” How could Bob Arum make this fight possible if Al Haymon (Floyd’s supervisor and manager) and Floyd Mayweather do NOT want to fight Manny Pacquiao by imposing endless nonsense excuses, one excuse after another, for over three years? Some of those crazy excuses are: Random blood testing which must be done only by US Anti-Doping Agency (unfair to Manny Pacquiao because he is from the Philippines), but NOT the World Anti-Doping Agency; only fight on May 5th; only at the MGM Arena; only Joe Cortez (most biased referee in the world–look what happened in the Ortiz-Mayweather fight); Manny to train only in the USA; only $40 millions flat (only 13%) to Manny Pacquiao with NO PPV share knowing that this fight would make over $300 million (that means 87% to Floyd); wouldn’t delay the fight one month later to June, 2011 so Bob Arum could build the outside stadium to accommodate more fans, etc…All of these insane excuses are just tactics to kill the fight, Period. Bottom line is team Floyd Mayweather is SCARED of Manny Pacquiao because they know there’s something so SUPERNATURAL about Manny Pacquiao that ONE PUNCH will change the whole fight.

i thought Marquez was 99.999% confirmed?!? E-Nuff of all this hand-wringing and simply confirm the most challenging or most profitable opponent already. Wtf does Punkuiao* want? a guaranteed win?!? (yes).

Posted September 12, 2012 4:17 pm

Guess what??? I’ll bet it won’t be Bradley… Pac-Tim wasn’t as bad a decision as Holyfield-Lewis 1, Whitaker-Chavez, Randall-Chavez, or Hagler-Anteofermo 1.. But Pac doesn’t think he needs to right wrongs after a guy with a broken foot beat him on the scorecards.
