You know what Popkins??? The British fans were angry that Froch got screwed in Denmark.. If that hadn’t happened there would have been a much more respectful atmosphere like in the Calzaghe fight… London fans just don’t take kindly to getting the shaft — and it’s a good thing Froch dominated the fight or they’d have been a lot nastier.

KESSLER 3 BUTE 2 OR WARD

Vanihm…good point. Also, I noticed how the crowd booed and shouted abuse at Kessler and the Danish fans last night – before and after the fight. In Cardiff/Wales when Kessler fought in 2007, there were three times as many fans there, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the home crowd were respectful of Kessler and his fans the whole night. Still a noisy, memorable atmosphere, but it was light hearted and respectful from both sides.

Notice how no one is ranting about hometown robbery this time around? This Was at least as close as the first one and yet no complaints. Kessler just gave Britain a lesson in class.

This fight was a classic example of when a very talented fighter reaches the end. Very unfortunately. I’m sure Kessler could see the openings, but just wasn’t able to pull the trigger. He has improved slightly defense wise. But when his speed and precision were still there, he didn’t need those other skills as much. it’s a testament to his talent that he is still as competive as he is. Someone unfamiliar with Kessler might feel he is still world class, which in many ways he is. But he is a badly faded version of his former self. Love Kessler. If he has a good nest egg he should retire with his head high. If he could use some more dough. He deserves whatever fights he chooses to secure his future. Entertaining fight, but as a long time fan and student of Kessler’s boxing style, it’s a bit hard to watch. I hope he has a happy fulfilling future where ever he goes. He’s given us many good years. Respect to Carl. But he’s wont be beating Ward anytime soon. Not with a hands down style that such an accurate boxer like Ward, will rack up the points on him. Could be entertaining though.

Uncommon….ditto….tough aint enough against Ward! I’ll admit Wards style is a bit boring, but it is well rounded AND effective. Froch fights like a well primed telegraphic robot that doesnt stop coming, but his elusive capabilities is severely lacking. toughness is only part of the equation.

It was the jab the threw Kessler off and didn’t allow him to get off

Gold- Kessler’s balance and footwork were absolutely horrible. I agree with you about froch being tough, but if he wants to fight Ward again, as i think he should. Tough aint enough.

Uncommon you may be right, because I expected more energy from Kessler and it seemed like it wasnt their. Kessler was the better boxer, but Froch wasnt fazed by some big shots that had Kesslers body behind em’. Froch looked tough, determined and unstoppable, while Kessler did look good with some brave combinations, and some good defensive moves – from some BIG shots – unfortunately he also looked like he could be outta there a few times.

Froch definitely won, but i think it was really due to Kessler’s inactivity more than Froch and the tape watching.

Froch DEFINITELY won this fight! As Froch said, he watched the tapes with Ward fighting Kessler, copying meeting Kessler in the middle of the ring (instead of backing up like the 1st fight) while constantly throwing the jab then following up! It worked! He had a “gameplan” with more energy and a GRANITE chin. He doent want Ward next, and he’ll continue to criticize his style because he CANT beat it!! What does him having a boring style have to do with him beating it!!?? Great Britain will always come out to support Froch, they’ll come out to see him in action because he’s a WORTHY no nonsense determined fighter!! The thing is, Ward isnt at all intimidated by his corny intimidation tactics that he used on him before their fight, which was, when shaking his hand – squeezing it tightly, bumping him during their meetings and talking a ton of dung that made Ward laugh!! Ward discussed Frochs psyche for him and in front of him, during their Face-Off with Max Kellerman – he was spot on! Froch doesnt know how to handle this – at all, except by maybe, criticizing his boring style?!!

I was at the arena, and genuinely felt Kessler won the fight, by a round. A draw maybe. 118/110….shocking score card really. For most of the fight Kessler seemed to evade the majority of Froch’s swinging, leaping shots, and moved round the ring well, making the Cobra look desperate at times. I need to watch a replay of the fight to work out how the judges had it so wide.

Anyone who goes Rock em Sock em style vs Froch in trouble. Lets see Froch against Alvarez or Chavez Jr.. They’re both SMW/LHW .

I’m disappointed that Froch didn’t get the stoppage. He may need to eat him some Wheaties.

You mention the need for neutrality in any possible 3rd fight and then say that Copenhagen is an ideal venue. Contradict yourself much?

These guys are like Pacquiao & Marquez. War whenever they meet! Have to admire that Froch. Never holds, never runs! Guy talks a lot but he’s all business in the ring!

In 10 years no one will even remember Ward, he’s boring. So what if Froch lost to him, so did Gatti to many but he was more entertaining than the rest.

Hopkins bought would be the most anticipated, I think Hopkins could win as Froch is wide open to counters which is Hopkins game. Would be an interesting fight and great build up though and he would titles in 2 weights as well as matching Calzaghe if he got the win.

Ward, fight Froch in the UK, stadium fight, and PPV.

Froch will go for the money now. That means either a fight with Hopkins or a third fight with Kessler if he wants it. Kessler probably should hang them up. He has nothing to hang his head, he had a great career. B-hop vs Froch is interesting. Stylistically fits what B-Hop wants to do but at this stage in his career might not be enough vs a strong fighter like Froch.

Froch beat Kessler twice… This victory was so dominant that even blind Kessler fans have Froch winning.. Kessler is such a bad boxer that I’m just tired of seeing him.. He never got started until the fight was in the bank for Froch.

Ward said he is willing to come to England… And he didn’t mean to fight Groves or Cleverly — although I would love to see him fight somebody who can box… I don’t know what in Godfrey’s name Dirrell is doing… He looked real promising but he might as well pack it in.
