The Matthysse vs Judah robbery was pathetic… Matthysse beat Zab by 5 points… Knocked him down, beat him up, drove him all over the ring, and beat his face up something ridiculous… Matthysse’s face was clean as a bell.. The last 2 rounds were a joke.. Judah running and grabbing the whole time, the referee breaking “clinches” where Lucas had an arm free to punch, and just interrupting the action repeatedly for God knows what, so a reeling Judah could survive…

Reminded me of the referees in the Huck-Povetkin and Maidana-Khan fights, who wore their bias on their sleeves — X 3 in this case.

CORRECTAMUNDO: Hey correcta, I’m going to adamantly go against you on this one. They say you like choosing the favorites or whatever, but I’m going to tell you that Peterson is the superior fighter and will win barring a stoppage loss (aka, punchers chance, although I don’t completely place Lucas as low as SIMPLY having a punchers chance, but I think Peterson is the class of this matchup) I think many people will be surprised by Peterson’s win, even with having only one not even full fight back. He’s been in with better guys, and just appears to be the better fighter.

Peterson is the better fighter and proven at a higher level. He’ll win.

Afraid for what? Peterson has stood up and came out on top against speed levels far superior to Lucas, Ortiz even isn’t as hard a puncher, but is really strong and quick with his above average power… and Zab Judah out boxed Lucas for most of there bout (I haven’t seen the DA bout, but the rumors of robbery in the Judah fight were greatly exaggerated). I mean, who has Lucas beaten? He stopped Mike Dallas in devastating fashion, but Mike had been seen before out on his feet from one punch. He beat Humberto Soto, in a very competitive bout, but Soto was just too small moving up again in weight, but he landing frequently, and took lots of the shots Lucas threw. Peterson has a great chin, great energy, really good pressure abilities, but very good boxing abilities. This would be the biggest win of Lucas career easily. But Peterson has been fighting competing and winning at this level. Power wise, Lucas is dominant, but overall Peterson is just the better fighter, and I’m going for the better fighter. I have Lamont Peterson winning this bout.

stuck in a moment

I think Lucas hits harder then Ortiz and is a better fighter. And as for the Alexander fight he is around a 25-1 fav

Another good match by GBP. Looking forward to this one.

This is a good matchup. I am looking forward to it. Peterson may not be an elite fighter, but he is a really good fighter (even without cheating). Matthysse on the other hand is one tough dude. I think he is improving and has become a better fighter since his controversial loss to Judah. I could make a viable argument for both, but that is what makes it fun to watch.

Be afraid, be very afraid

This author writes, “Victor Ortiz can really punch. He had Peterson on the canvas twice in their fight.” No kidding. Cand Tim Bradley punch? Because Tim knocked Lamont down too. And can Victor Ortiz box or jab? Everyone knows he VO can throw a right hook, but he’s no match for Matthysse’s all around game.

Peterson is the biggest cheat at welterweight since Cheato. First Lamont’s team swore his positive test for synthetic testosterone had to be a false positive. They demanded another lab test on sample B to get the correct result.

When sample B also came back positive for synthetic testosterone they said, “OMG. You’re kidding me? Well…heh heh, this is embarrassing. You see…Lamont is actually naturally low in testosterone…so a specialist had to give him synthetic testosterone. Yes…It’s something we forgot to mention. We’ll give you an affidavit from the doctor and everything. Yes.. We apologize for forgetting to mention it until now…but Lamont wasn’t trying to cheat or anything.”

I’m a big Matthysee fan but, he lost 2 close fights (I think he should have won) to guys he should have ko’ed. If he couldn’t put Zab away, he’s not going to put Peterson away.

Peterson is taking it and will shock a few, especially correctomungo haha

Posted May 14, 2013 2:38 am

I predict a victor for Peterson, I think Matty gets a shock when his shots
just bounce off him and he comes back harder, Peterson Unam points.

Posted May 14, 2013 2:37 am

Peterson is too big and strong, he might win this.

I predict another robbery Poor matthysse can’t catch a break

I predict another robbery. Poor matthysse can’t catch a break.

I don’t think it’s obvious that Matthysse will KO Peterson; Lamont is dogged & experienced & a terrific body puncher. This is a very good fight & I think Peterson’s gonna take Mattysse places he has never been.

If its a decision Peterson wins. I’m gonna with Peterson by decision

Matthysse by stoppage….Pac wasn’t afraid of Marquez but he still got knocked out.

Matthysse by stoppage….Pacquiao wasn’t afraid of Marquez but he still got knocked out.

Matthysse by stoppage .. .Pacquiao wasn’t afraid of Marquez but he still got knocked out.

Posted May 13, 2013 11:50 pm

Being unafraid does not change the inevitable. Guerrero was unafraid of Mayweather but he still got BEAT. SO being unafraid is not the factor. WINNING is the factor. When you LOSE the L goes on your record whether you were unafraid or not. Chisora wasn’t afraid of Vitali either but he STILL took the L. And SO did Briggs.

Jack Dempsey

Victor Ortiz is not Matthysse !!! when the going gets rough Victor Ortiz quits,, Lucas Matthysse does not quit ,,, Victor Ortiz does have heavy hands ,,but Matthysse has power in both hands and Matthysse does not depend on one punch ,he gradually wears his opponent down by hard shots in every punch ,,,Matthysse by stoppage late in the fight ,,
