RAUL CARRILLO “READY FOR WAR” VS. JOSH TORRES ON JUNE 30TH IN LONGMONT, COLORADO

LONGMONT, COLORADO, (June 21, 2012) Hometown favorite Raul “EL Chino” Carrillo is “ready for war” next Saturday night, June 30th as he returns to battle against Josh “Pitbull” Torres in the main event of WARRIORS CONQUEST at the Boulder County Fairgrounds, thirty miles northwest of Denver, Colorado.

Undefeated in his first nine professional bouts, Carrillo, 9-1-0 (6KO’s), looks to get back in the win column following a hard fought ten round battle against the much more experienced Robert Frankel on February 17th in Sheridan, Colorado.

“The fight against Frankel was a very good learning experience, he was a much more experienced fighter and this was my first bout of more than six rounds” said Carrillo who lost by scores of 97-93, 98-92 and 99-91. “I thought it was a much more even fight and my performance was not properly reflected on the scorecards.”

Torres, fighting out of Albuquerque, New Mexico enters the ring against Carrillo with a record of 7-1-1 (4KO’s), and is riding a two-bout winning streak.

Said Carrillo, “I’m a little familiar with him Torres, he had much more amateur experience than I did and we’ve both beat Joel Vargas. I’m sure he’s coming up here ready to fight and I’ll be ready for war.”

About fighting back in Longmont, Carrillo stated, “This is my home and I’m really looking forward to putting on a terrific performance for the local fans along with my friends and family.”

Although not looking past Torres, Carrillo spoke of his goals for the future, “Of course I want to be a world champion but first I need to get past Torres. There is no one specifically I want to fight, just keep getting better and keep winning.

“The fight against Frankel was at 140, but right now I want to stay at 147.”
