By Larry Issac: Tim Bradley (28-0, 12 KO’s) doesn’t see himself as another one of Manny Pacquiao’s victims being led to the slaughter in their upcoming fight next month. Bradley feels his youth and boxing ability will get him past Pacquiao in an earth shattering upset win at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Bradley said to ESPN Down for the Count, “I have the speed, I have the power, I have the youth. I have all the tools to beat Manny Pacquiao. I think my determination is definitely a factor in this fight. I just have to put it all together on June 9…[Devon] Alexander’s a southpaw, the clever Joel Casamayor, now I’m fighting the best southpaw in the world, Manny Pacquiao. No problem whatsoever.”
Bradley is one of the fastest fighters that Pacquiao has fought in quite some time. If there’s been one constant for virtually all of Pacquiao’s opponents during his career it’s that they’re slow of hand. Bradley is a lot faster than the guys that Pacquiao has been facing. He’s not as fast as Pacquiao, but he’s close enough to where he could give him a lot of problems if he can stay on top of him and not allow the Filipino fighter to get any space.
Just as important as Bradley’s ability to handle Pacquiao’s southpaw stance will be Bradley’s youth. He’s a lot younger than Pacquiao with a lot less ring wear than him. Bradley hasn’t been involved with any real wars during his career unlike Pacquiao. That youth will help Bradley in a big way in the later rounds when Pacquiao might start to fade a little bit due to Bradley’s constant pressure that he’ll be putting on him.
Bradley’s power is underestimated by a lot of fighters. They don’t see him as being powerful until they step inside the ring with him and taste his power up close. Bradley could give Pacquiao a lot of problems with his heavy shots.
