Belfast (April 12) Chris Eubank junior has promised double trouble for his next opponent – because this time he will be using BOTH fists.
Fury vs. Rogan and Eubank Jr vs. Allison, proudly presented by Hennessy Sports, will be broadcast live on Channel 5.
Eubank, 22, won a points victory in his second pro fight against former cage fighter Jason Ball in February despite only being able to jab with his left fist.
He had suffered a hand injury while sparring with a heavyweight a few days before the bout but believed it would heal in time for the fight. He was also determined the fight should not be called off for the sake of the fans.
But middleweight Eubank jnr says his right hand is now 100 per cent healed and is pledging fireworks against Scotland’s Paul Allison on April 14th on the undercard of the Tyson Fury v Martin Rogan fight at the Odyssey Arena, Belfast.
He said yesterday: ‘I am definitely predicting a stoppage in this one. I am looking to go there and produce an explosive performance.’
Opponent Allison has been reported as saying that Eubank ‘got away with murder’ in the Jason Ball fight, using his shoulders, forearms and elbow.
But Eubank jnr said: ‘I don’t agree with that at all. I kept him away from me with my left. Most fighters would have looked terrible using just one hand but I kept it as tidy as I could. I was keeping him away because if he had come inside it would have been a lot more difficult for me.’
He said he did not find it difficult to hold his right back in the Ball fight.
‘I think there was some tendon damage and the middle knuckle was swollen up but I had thought it would be OK in time.
‘I never considered pulling out. I believed 100 per cent that I could do it with the left. I really didn’t want to be pulling out so early in my career and letting the fans down.’
After the Allison bout Eubank jnr, whose father Chris, 45, is a former WBO middleweight champion, said he is looking to fight five more times this year.
‘I will be looking to get back into the ring as soon as possible, and as much as possible,’ he added.

At a press conference held Wednesday in Lima, Peru, promoter Sampson Lewkowicz of Sampson boxing announced that World Boxing Association (WBA) Female Super Featherweight Champion, and Peruvian national hero, Kina Malpartida announced will face Thailand’s Sriphrae Nongkipahuyuth on May 19, at a boxing event being held in conjunction with the WBA KO Drugs campaign.
The fight will be held at Miguel Grau Coliseum in the El Callao region of Peru.
Against Nongkipahuyuth (11-1-1, 4 KOs), Malpartida (13-3, 3 KOs) will be making the fifth defense of the title she won via TKO 10 over Maureen Shea in 2009. She has also defended against Halana Dos Santos (TKO 7), Lyndsey Scragg (UD 10), Liliana Palmera (UD 10) and was last seen defeating American Rhonda Luna via near-shutout 10-round decision last April.
Without having to put on the event herself, 32-year-old Malpartida says she is more than ready for her 19-year-old challenger.
“I am at my physical and mental peak,” she told the huge crowd of assembled media. “Fighting in El Callao is the best thing that has ever happened to me. It will be a great honor to be making the fifth defense of my title in Peru. I have had a great training camp in the United States and by fight time, I will be in unbelievable physical condition.
Malpartida is the first Peruvian female boxer in history to win a world championship.
Arandas Jalisco adds Championship Boxing to its city with the Road to Glory, a Triple Championship card on Saturday
ARANDAS, JALISCO.- Founded in the mid 1700’s, and nested at over 6.000 feet above sea level, Arandas, Jalisco is a small city that not only holds on to old Mexican traditions but has also welcomed modern day culture and activities.
With a population of a little less than 100,000, its sports facilities include venues for the practice of soccer, volleyball, basketball and athletics. It also has a bullring, a Lienzo Charro, for the display horsemanship skills, and in contrast, a skate park.
This weekend, Championship boxing will also be added to the list of activities for the town that is located approximately 65 miles East of Guadalajara.
With the support of Arandas Mayor, Jose Guadalupe Tejeda Vázquez, Canelo Promotions is presenting the first multi championship card, at the Municipal Auditorium.
For its final press conference regarding the international ROAD TO GLORY card that will take place this Saturday April 14, including fighters from Costa Rica, Colombia and Mexico, the Mayor hosted the conference and was accompanied by another Jalisco idol, twice former world champion Oscar “Chololo” Larios.
Far from the typical nylon backdrops, the ROAD TO GLORY press conference had an open-air setting showing the cities clear weather and several maguey plants, the source of the biggest wealth for the city and the Jalisco region: the production of Tequila, promoted as “The very best in the world”.
And it was under this general theme: the convergence of a welcoming city and international world class talent that Saturday’s card was presented to the local press. After the Mayor and Larios welcomed the fighters and the promoters, it was the fighters themselves that spoke about the event.
Mexico’s Victor “Vikingo” Terrazas, WBC Super Bantamweight Silver Champion will face Colombia’s Jose Palma in what will be his second opportunity fighting a Colombian.

Jesus Ruiz and Christian Esquivel, both with very respectable punch, were confident
of victory. The matches between compatriots are often very emotional and this is should not be the exception to the rule.
The official weight-in for this card will take place Friday an Parque Hidalgo, one of Arandas many cultural centers.
The championship card will be televised nationally to Mexico via Televisa’s Noches de Corona, on Channel 5.
