Carl Froch has signed a sponsorship deal with West Yorkshire fire and rescue supply company North Fire ahead of his Super-Middleweight unification showdown with Andre Ward on December 17 in Atlantic City.
Froch puts his World Boxing Council (WBC) belt on the line in the Super Six final at the Boardwalk Hall and is confident of defending his strap and taking Ward’s World Boxing Association (WBA) crown as the Super Six tournament draws to a close.
Froch’s stablemate Kell Brook makes his US debut on the same bill and the unbeaten Sheffield Welterweight is also backed by the company. North Fire were established in 2008 as the official exclusive sales and service agent for Rosenbauer International, supplying the UK and Ireland’s Fire and Rescue Services with Aerial Fire Trucks and Fire Fighting Equipment. In 2011 they were voted Business of the Year by the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce.

Hard hitting heavyweights battle for Mansour’s WBO Championship belt
DOVER, Del. — A big night of boxing is set with ten bouts on the card in the Rollins Center arena at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino, Friday, Dec. 2. Amir “Hard Core” Mansour, ranked the No. 8 heavyweight in the world will defend his 15(11)-0 record and prestigious World Boxing Organization (WBO) Championship Title against Epifanio “Diamante” Mendoza, 32(28)-12-1, in the 10-round main event.
“This is a risky fight,” said Nick Tiberi, matchmaker. “Mendoza is a very crafty veteran who’s been in there with high-quality opposition. Like Mansour, Mendoza is a dangerous puncher with 28 knockouts in his 32 wins.”

NABF female super welterweight titleholder “Queen” Ronica Jeffrey, 8-0, is on the under card for 6×2-rounds; this bout is not yet matched. Newcomer Robert Walder of Forked River, N.J., will make his debut against Lamont “The Problem Solver” Singletary, 2-0, of Dover, Del., in a 4-round cruiserweight fight. Also debuting is Philly lightweight Miguel Antonio Rodriguez against Omar “Super O” Douglas of Wilmington, Del., 2-0, in a 4-round lightweight bout. The card continues:

Five U.S. Boxers Claim Opening Bout Victories in Europe
(COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO.) – Two USA Boxing squads missed out on the joys of the Thanksgiving holiday yesterday, choosing to represent the United States in the ring at the Olympic Test Event and World Cup of Petroleum Countries instead of digging into turkey and all the fixings.
Five U.S. boxers enjoyed successful opening contests at the two key international events in Europe on Thursday and Friday. In London, male heavyweight Joseph Williams (Queens, N.Y.) won the lone victory of the opening two days at the Olympic Test Event. Williams defeated home nation boxer Simon Vallily of Great Britain in their first round match-up on Thursday. He will face Kamran Mehdiyev of Azerbaijan in Saturday’s semifinal action for a berth in the finals.
At the World Cup of Petroleum Countries in Surgut, Russia, 2012 Olympian Errol Spence (Desoto, Texsa) won a convincing 25-5 decision over Ramal Amanov of Azerbaijan in their welterweight showdown. Male lightweight Toka Kahn Clary (Providence, R.I.) won the second U.S. victory of the opening day, with a 9-5 decision over Igor Osipov of Moldova in their Thursday match-up.
Female flyweight Marlen Esparza (Houston, Texas) enjoyed a successful opening bout as well, taking a 21-16 victory over Nandintsetseg Myagmardulam of Mongolia in Friday’s opening session. Male heavyweight Jordan Shimmell (Hudsonville, Mich.) claimed a victory of his own in the later session of action, winning a 10-8 bout over Russia’s Nurmagomdeov.
Male light welterweight Jamel Herring (Coram, N.Y.) and female lightweight Queen Underwood (Seattle, Wash.) both dropped opening round contests in London to home nation foes. In Surgut, female middleweight Tika Hemingway (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and male middleweight Antoine Douglas (Burke, Va.) both lost their first round match-ups on Friday while male flyweight Shawn Simpson (Chicago, Ill.) fell to a home nation opponent in Friday’s competition.
USA Boxing National Coach Joe Zanders (Long Beach, Calif.) and Gloria Peek (Norfolk, Va.) are leading the athletes into action in London. Ken Porter (Akron, Ohio), Ed Rivas (Abilene, Texas) and Everette Elliston (Denver Colo.) are coaching the team at the World Cup of Petroleum Countries with Bruce Kawano (Pearl City, Hawaii) serving as the Technical Advisor, and Ken Buffington (Marshalltown, Iowa) joining the squad as Team Manager.
