New York, NY – (9/23/2011) – Next Saturday, October 1st, Lou DiBella’s DiBella Entertainment in association with Matchroom Sport, and Caesars Atlantic City, presents “Noche de ‘Maravilla’: Martinez vs. Barker”, featuring the #1 middleweight in the world, and top three pound-for-pound fighter, Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez (47-2-2, 26KO’s) putting his World Boxing Council (WBC) Middleweight Diamond belt and Ring Championship on the line against undefeated European Champion “Dazzling” Darren Barker (23-0, 14KO’s), at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ.
On October 29th, Andre Ward and Carl Froch were scheduled to meet at the same venue, to determine the winner of Showtime’s: Super Six World Boxing Classic Tournament. Unfortunately it was announced this morning that Ward had sustained a cut in training and the entire show was being postponed until a later date.
In the wake of the postponement, and disappointment for the thousands of fans who were looking forward to a night of World Championship Boxing at Boardwalk Hall on October 29th, DiBella is offering a 30% discount to the upcoming show next Saturday, October 1st, to any ticket holder who brings their ticket or proof of purchase from the Ward-Froch event to the Boardwalk Hall Box Office.
“We know the fans for October 29th are disappointed,” said DiBella. “Atlantic City went from having two great fight cards in October to now next Saturday (Oct 1st) being the highlight of the fall. I know that many of the Ward and Froch fans are disappointed, and that’s why we are offering the discount. Hopefully they can join us for what is going to be a great night of boxing next Saturday.”
