NEW YORK (August 5, 2008) – It’s official! DiBella Entertainment’s Broadway Boxing “Hot Fights…Summer in the City” is sold out tomorrow night at B.B. King Blues Club in Times Square. “This is a testament to the New York city boxing fans,” said DBE head Lou DiBella. “They are starved for good boxing action and know a hot card when they see one. We thank everyone for the support of Broadway Boxing.”
For those fans who were shut out of tickets for the show, there are two great events completely open to the public that precede Broadway Boxing. You do not need a ticket to attend. Both events will run from 5:30PM to 6:30PM and take place at Lucille’s Grill at B.B. King Blues Club at 237 West 42nd Street in the heart of Times Square.
Fans will have the opportunity to meet and greet WBC Welterweight Champion Andre Berto (22-0, 19 KO’s). Berto will be available to sign autographs and take pictures with anyone in attendance. “I want to reach out to my New York fan base and let them know what is going on,” said Berto. “I am looking forward to August 6 to see the great fight fans at my promoter DiBella Entertainment’s Broadway Boxing show.”
Boxing fans will be in for another treat at Lucille’s Grill tomorrow night as legendary boxer Emile Griffith and author Ron Ross will sign copies of Emile’s new biography entitled “Nine…Ten…And Out! The Two Worlds of Emile Griffith”. Copies of the great story in both hardcover and soft cover editions will be for sale at the venue. Fans can buy a book and then have it autographed by Griffith and Ross.
“I am happy that we were able to coordinate these two great events with our Broadway Boxing show tomorrow night,” said DiBella. “I think it’s important for fans to have the opportunity to meet a young star in Andre Berto and a legend in Emile Griffith. This will be a great start to a sensational night of boxing action.”
