LAS VEGAS, NV (July 31, 2008) Deandre “THE BULL” Latimore, fresh off his ESPN2 televised devastating knockout of Sechew Powell on June 11th, has moved to #6 in the IBF junior middleweight rankings. “It’s a nice start” said manager Jerry Giuliano. “Numbers 1 and 2 they kept vacant so we’d be willing to fight anyone above for the mandatory to the champion Verno Phillips..”
Listed ahead of Latimore, ranked 3 through 5, are former world champion Cory Spinks, former ESPN Prospect of the Year, Joel Julio and undefeated prospect James Kirkland.
While pleased to hear about his placement in the rankings, Latimore was very quick to point out that he was ready to fight Verno Phillips immediately. ‘They can make that fight today and I’m ready. I’ve been training every day at Striking Unlimited here in Las Vegas, getting up at 5:30am to do my running. I’m ready to go,” said the 22 year old St. Louis native.
