Aaron Williams took a few minutes out of his fight schedule, to answer a few questions for his fans at EastSideBoxing:

EastSideBoxing: How does it feel to be the main eventer for the first time?

Williams: It feels great, It’s my first of what should be many main events. This is a great opportunity for me to show everyone what the next big thing in the cruiser division is. I’m also proud to represent CES and the exciting and talented fighters in the CES stable.

EastSideBoxing: Why should your fans come out to watch you on Friday night, May 23rd?

Williams: Because they will get their money’s worth and then some! This is a great card with a former Olympian in Jason Estrada and “Hammerin” Hank Lundy is another young, exciting, undefeated boxer. I’m proud to be the headliner.

EastSideBoxing: What do you know about your opponent, Jose Luis Herrera (15-4, 0), and what do you expect from him during this fight?

Williams: I don’t know anything about him. My trainer, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, has seen tapes of him. I let Eddie analyze the tapes and he tells me what to work on in the gym.

EastSideBoxing: You seem to have found a home in New England. How do you like fighting under Jimmy Burchfield’s CES Banner?

Williams: I love fighting in New England, especially in Providence. The fans are great and they’re very knowledgeable. I ‘ve really enjoyed fighting under the CES banner for Jimmy Burchfield. This is the third time I’ve been on ESPN in the last year.

EastSideBoxing: What do you anticipate Herrera’s game plan to be to defeat you, and how to you intend to overcome his opposition?

Williams: I will come prepared. Boxing is my business and I train hard. I was back in the gym on the Monday after my last fight on ESPN. So, whatever Herrera brings, I will be able to counter and come out on top.

EastSideBoxing: Who are you sparring with, in anticipation of this bout, and where are you training?

Williams: I sparred with Derrick Harmon and a number of heavyweights at Top Rank. I’ve trained at Top Rank since I turned pro. I’ve been fortunate enough to be around some of the best fighters and trainers in boxing.
