Espino’s Return Postponed / Jessica Rakoczy to battle Belinda Laracuente in rubber match

WBC CABOFE Middleweight Champion Miguel Espino has been forced to postpone his February 23rd fight against Humberto Corral due to an illness. Espino was ordered to bed rest for two weeks by his doctor, which subsequently forced a brief hiatus on his training camp..

Speaking over the phone from Espino’s training camp in San Fernando, Trainer/Manager John Bray said, ”Miguel has come to far in his career to risk injuring himself and losing a chance for a title shot this year due to his illness, so I thought that it would be better that we postpone the fight for a couple of weeks.”

Manny Cota of Cota Boxing Promotions has indicated that the entire fight card at the “Gymnasio Tigre Garcia” in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico has been called off. Espino had been looking forward to his tenth straight victory and possible showdown with a fighter in the top ten rankings. Cota said that the bout would most likely be rescheduled sometime in March.
