Zsolt Erdei Returns Nov 24, Virgil Hill vs Firat Arslan On Undercard

For the first time, the “Universum Champions Night” rolls into the historic city of Dresden, Germany. The November 24 fight card at the Freiberger Arena will feature two world title fights, including the long-overdue mandatory defense of WBA cruiserweight titleholder Virgil Hill. Virgil “Quicksilver” Hill (50-5, 23 KOs), will face interim champion Firat Arslan (27-3-1, 18 KOs), who has been waiting patiently for his shot at the belt. Despite losing a purse bid in September, Universum has managed to get Arlan the home advantage in Germany..

“I qualified twice for this title fight,” said Arslan at today’s press conference at the Albrechtsberg Castle in Dresden, referring to his wins in a WBA eliminator and a interim title fight. “I’m happy that it is now finally set. It’s great that the fight takes place in Germany. I’m particularly looking forward to Dresden, because I’ve already boxed here twice and won both times. I have a lot of respect for Virgil Hill, who has repeatedly won world championships for many years…I assume that that his performance will be different than from the Henry Maske fight, because now his title is on the line. I always prepare for an opponent in best form.”

Unbeaten WBO light heavyweight champion Zsolt Erdei (27-0, 17 KOs) will be making the ninth defense of his world title belt. An opponent for “The Firebird” will be named in the coming days. “Following Budapest, I am happy to again box in Germany,” said Erdei today. Dresden is a very beautiful city and I eagerly await fightweek. I’ll comment on my opponent as soon as it is announced.”

In another important fight, WBC/WBO #1 rated super middleweight Denis Inkin (31-0, 24 KOs) faces Martin Abel Bruer (19-1, 12 KOs) for Inkin’s WBC International title.
