WESTERVILLE, OHIO (October 23, 2006)—On Saturday December, 9 former world Heavyweight champion, “Merciless” Ray Mercer steps back in the ring that will headline a special night of boxing for all the world to see. Mercer will take on Kenny Lemos in a ten round Heavyweight bout that will be the main event of a card that will emanate from Charleston, South Carolina that will be shown on www.wenppv.com with a price of just $10.00 and will have a start time at 7:30 pm EST..

As a token of thanks, the broadcast will be available to the armed forces serving the United States in Iraq free of charge.

Mercer, 34-6-1 with 25 knockouts was a former Army Sergeant that captured Olympic gold in the 1988 Seoul Olympics.

Mercer won his first sixteen bouts before knocking out Francesco Damiani to capture the WBO heavyweight title on January 11, 1991. In his next bout he destroyed the popular Tommy Morrison in four rounds in a much anticipated bout.

Mercer is known for his toughness as his defeats have come to world champions Larry Holmes, Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, Wladimir Klitschko and Shannon Briggs.
