A Ring Of Their Own Invades Hollywood

January 4, 2006 – Rock & Sock Productions, in association with i’mtwicemoviesite.com inc., descends upon Hollywood as the all-women’s boxing series “A Ring of Their Own” kicks off their 2006 season on January 27 at the world famous Hollywood Palladium, and looks forward to another year of exciting toe-to-toe action..

This fight card promises the trademark competitive matches “AROTO” brought to boxing fans over the last year, and matchmaker Wanda Bruce is sure this card will pick up where the series left at the close of 2005. “Two title fights on our first fight of the year — we plan to ring in the New Year with lots of fireworks!” Wanda said as she outlined the event.

Scheduled to headline the five-bout card will be Santa Monica native Suswella Roberts (5-0) in an eight-round WIBA Intercontinental Welterweight title match against Daria “Da Hit Woman” Hill (3-2) of Camden, New Jersey; six rounds of super middleweight action between Erin Toughill (6-2-1) of Huntington Beach, California and Winterhaven, Florida’s Laura Ramsey (5-1); the pro debut of lightweight Dyana Arnalez of Anaheim, California, and other bouts will round out the card, including a second WIBA title match, with opponents to be determined.

Erin Toughill is excited about her AROTO appearance, and the positive way the series has helped women’s boxing. “I don’t really know too much about Laura Ramsey. I’m taller than her and as far as styles, she’s a bit of a brawler. But whatever she brings, I know what I can do. If she boxes, then I’ll be ready too. I’m really looking forward to getting back in there and fighting. There’s no doubt I can win this fight, and keep on winning.”

January 27 will mark Laura Ramsey’s fourth AROTO fight, and she was all business regarding her bout with Toughill. “I’ve been training non-stop since my last fight in Edmonton with my new trainer Osvaldo Garcia, so I am confident and I will be prepared to face Erin Toughill in Hollywood.”

Regarding making her pro debut in Hollywood, 19 year-old Dyana Arnalez (amateur record 9-1) said, “I’m excited, and of course, it’s Hollywood! I’ve had three opponents drop out on me in the last three months, so I’m looking forward to fighting. I’ve been working hard in the gym six days a week and running seven, so I will be ready.”

Title challengers Suswella Roberts and Daria Hill are both geared up for their first championship. “I’m looking forward to the bout. I’ve been at this for some time and it’s my life. I’m happy to come fight for a championship in my home town, happy to take this championship home and make my record 6-0 with four knock-outs,” Roberts exclaimed.

And Daria Hill, no stranger to AROTO with two prior fights in the series, is no less than motivated. “I’m going to get the win I didn’t get October 8. I’m very much looking forward to getting the title, and the only outcome I’ll be satisfied with is the win. My last loss has motivated me and the title is mine,” Hill stated.

“A Ring of their Own” hopes Hollywood is set for a hard-hitting and historic evening of women’s boxing – as this will be the first all-women’s fight card for Tinseltown.

More on this event will be announced as the card is finalized. Ticket prices range from $35 to $150 for ringside tables, and can be purchased by contacting the Hollywood Palladium at 323-962-7600.

“A Ring of Their Own” is the only all-women’s boxing series. It is promoted by Rock & Sock Productions and is distributed on cable TV and via satellite to over 40 million homes in the U.S. and Canada.

The second show of 2006 is slated for February 16 at Harrah’s in Kansas City, Missouri.
