05.01.06 – HBO Boxing fans will be treated to a special preview leading up to the highly anticipated super featherweight rematch on Jan. 21 that will be carried by HBO Pay-Per-View between former champions Erik Morales and Manny Pacquiao ( Morales vs. Pacquiao 2). HBO Sports will present the exclusive re-broadcast of four of the fighters’ most memorable fights on back-to-back weekends this month..
On Friday, January 13 at 11:00 p.m. (ET/PT), the HBO2 service will replay Morales vs. Hernandez 2004 and Pacquiao vs. Marquez 2004. The Erik Morales-Carlos Hernandez showdown took place in July of 2004. The fight was a unanimous decision victory for Morales and gave him ownership of two super featherweight titles. The second fight of the HBO 2 doubleheader features Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez from a intense May 2004 draw that left many watching satisfied at the performance both fighters registered. Both fights will be replayed again on the HBO2 service Saturday, Jan. 14 at 3:30 p.m. (ET/PT).
Then on Friday, Jan. 20 at 11:15 p.m. (ET/PT) on the HBO2 service the exciting replay of Morales vs. Pacquiao I, 2005 will be rebroadcast. That March 2005 fight went the distance and produced a unanimous victory for Morales, reaffirming his status as an elite fighter. In addition, the HBO2 service will replay Barrera vs. Pacquiao 2003, a showdown between Marco Antonio Barrera and Pacquiao that resulted in a spectacular KO triumph for “Pac-Man.” This dynamite doubleheader of action will air again on the HBO2 service Saturday, Jan. 21 3:15 p.m. (ET/PT).
HBO ON DEMAND subscribers can watch all four fights on HBO ON DEMAND beginning Monday, Jan. 16 thru the live fight on Jan. 21.
Then on Saturday, Jan. 21, two of boxing’s most battle-tested warriors square off in a 12-round rematch from Las Vegas, Nevada. HBO Pay-Per-View will televise the Morales vs. Pacquiao 2 event at 9:00 p.m. ET/ 6:00 p.m. PT from the Thomas & Mack Center.
