Juan Lazcano Takes on Courtney Burton In Main Event on Friday, November 11th

19.10.05 – Dominic Pesoli’s 8 Count Productions, HOME OF THE BEST IN CHICAGO BOXING and Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions, along with Miller Lite and TCF Bank team up on Friday, November 11th to present “Pride and Glory”, a huge evening of professional boxing at the Aragon Ballroom, 1106 W. Lawrence, 1/2 block east of Broadway on the North Side of the Windy City. Tickets, starting at $25, can be purchased in advance by calling 312-226-5800. Doors will open at 6pm with the first bell at 7pm for this event.

Said Pesoli about this card, “It’s going to be a great evening of boxing headlined by the Lazcano/Burton fight. Oscar’s in tough in the co-main against Muller and we just signed Jose Hernandez who’s also going to be fighting in a ten round bout. Jesus Chavez (IBF lightweight champion) is coming in to see his brother Jimmy fight and we also have Francisco Rodriguez, Trinidad Garcia and Barbaro Zepeda on the card.”

“The Hispanic Causing Panic” Lazcano, 34-3-1 (26KO’s) of El Paso, TX will take on Courtney Burton, 21-4 (11KO’s) of Grand Rapids, MI in the ten round lightweight main event. Lazcano currently ranked #6 by the WBC and #10 by the WBA is coming off a first round knockout of Marco Angel Perez on August 19th in El Paso. His previous fight was a very close decision loss to former world champion Jose Luis Castillo on June 5, 2004 in Las Vegas, NV. His twelve year career included wins over world champions Jesse James Lieja, John-John Molina, Stevie Johnston and Wilfredo Vazquez.

Burton’s nine year career included wins over world champions and contenders including Angel Manfredy, Francisco Lorenzo and Emanuel Augustus. On December 17th, 2004, Courtney fought Ebo Elder on ShoBox, a twelve round brutal battle that was called the “Fight of the Year” by many boxing experts for its wild swings of momentum by both fighters.

Chicagoan Bravo, 23-2 (20KO’s) will face off against Ted Muller, 16-5-1 (6KO’s) of Moline, IL in the ten round super middleweight co-main event.

Newly signed to the 8 Count Productions team, featherweight Jose Hernandez, 18-2 (13KO’s) of Round Lake Beach, IL will appear in a special attraction ten round bout.
