Promoter Bob Arum Embarks on 13-Day, Tour Monday for Klitschko-Rahman!

LAS VEGAS, NV (October 14, 2005) — Promoter extraordinaire and International Boxing Hall of Fame inductee, BOB ARUM, chairman of Top Rank, Inc., embarks on a three-week, 13-city whistle-stop media tour This Monday! to promote “Seek and Destroy!” — the World Heavyweight Championship fight between WBC champion Vitali Klitschko and interim WBC champion Hasim Rahman. Promoted by Top Rank, in association with K2 Promotions, Caesars Palace and Wynn Resort, the Klitschko-Rahman world title rumble will be broadcast Live on HBO Pay-Per-View, Saturday, November 12, from the Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas, NV.

Klitschko-Rahman is the biggest world heavyweight title fight Arum has promoted since Big George Foreman knocked out Michael Moorer, November 5, 1994, to become the oldest heavyweight champion at age 45.

Known as a pioneer in Latin boxing pay-per-views and the architect of Oscar De la Hoya’s illustrious professional career, Arum began his promotional career by promoting the first fight he ever saw, Muhammad Ali’s title defense against George Chuvalo in 1966. Arum promoted 25 of Ali’s fights — more than any other promoter. Arum was also the architect of Foreman’s comeback career as a fighter, leading up to Big George’s historic victory over Moorer.

In addition to interviewing Arum, media will have access to Klitschko and Rahman via speakerphone.

Accompanying Bob will be publicist Bill Caplan, who has worked almost all the big heavyweight championship fights starting with his first —
John L. Sullivan vs. James J. Corbett.
