22.08.05 – Former World Boxing Organization United States Boxing Organization super middleweight champion Willie Stewart of Las Vegas meets John Roman William of Chicago in the 10-round main event on the nationally and internationally televised “Guilty Fight Night” card promoted by Guilty Boxing and Bobby D Presents Friday, Aug. 26, at the Golden Acorn Casino in Campo, Calif..
Also on the card will be six boxers from the San Diego area and a total of 10 from Southern California and Northern Mexico.
Tickets, priced at $20 and $35, are on sale 24-hours a day at both the Player’s Club booth and the convenience store in the Golden Acorn Casino. Tickets also will be available at the door Friday, Aug. 26.
The eight-bout card starts at 7 p.m. (Pacific) with doors opening at 6.
The 34-year-old Stewart, originally from Stockton, Calif., has a record of 21-1 with 12 knockouts.
The 24-year-old William, originally from Puerto Rico, has a record of 15-5 with eight knockouts.
Stewart, a southpaw who lives up to his nickname of “Slick,” won the WBO’s USBO super middleweight championship April 12, 2002, with a sixth-round knockout of Keith Sims.
William fought former International Boxing Federation light heavyweight champion William Guthrie nine months ago. Most of William’s bouts have been in the light heavyweight and cruiserweight divisions.
San Diego-area boxers include lightweight Danny Gonzalez of Chula Vista (4-3-2, 2 KOs), who meets Juan Galvez of Tijuana, Mexico, (2-3, 2 KOs) in a six-round lightweight fight; Carl James Noons of San Diego (2-0, 2 KOs), who is in a six- or four-round middleweight bout against an opponent to be determined; James Parison of San Diego (1-0, 0 KOs), who faces Jose Grace of Oakland, Calif., (2-0, 0 KOs) in a four-round middleweight fight; Angel Estrada of San Diego (1-0, 0 KOs), who takes on an opponent to be determined in a four-round lightweight bout; and Carlos Lopez of San Diego (1-0, 1 KO), who goes against an opponent to be determined in a four-round bantamweight fight.
Other bouts on the card include: Daniel Gasca of Mexicali, Mexico, (1-1, 0 KOs) against Jonathan Embry of Inglewood, Calif., (2-1, 1 KO) in a four-round light heavyweight fight; and Michael Franco of Riverside, Calif., (Pro Debut) against Francisco Rubio of Los Angeles (Pro Debut) in a four-round featherweight bout.

Commentators for Guilty Boxing’s “Guilty Fight Night” telecasts are “The Colonel” Bob Sheridan and Benny Ricardo. Sheridan, a Boxing Hall of Fame inductee, has worked almost 800 world championship bouts on six continents during a career that has spanned more than five decades. Ricardo, for 11 years a place kicker on four NFL teams, also is a veteran announcer and has covered the biggest events in the sports world, ranging from Super Bowls to World Cups.
