KO king David Haye takes on tough veteran Garry Delaney

19.01.05 – Knockout artist David Haye, 11-1 (11), who has yet to go the distance in his exciting pro career, faces a severe examination of his punching power when he meets rock-hard veteran Garry Delaney in the Brentford area of west London, England, this weekend, with the bout broadcast delayed on boxing broadband channel www.SecondsOut.tv on January 22..

Haye is boxing’s ‘Mr. Excitement’. His presence guarantees knockdowns and drama and when he enters the ring only has one thing on his mind – a stunning, fight-ending knockout.

The former world amateur silver medallist destroyed ex-IBF cruiserweight champion Arthur Williams in just three rounds last May, but his ambitious gamble against world-rated IBO champ Carl Thompson backfired four months later in a thrilling punch-out that saw Haye lose his unbeaten tag in the fifth round.

Haye, 24, has since returned with a crushing 96 second KO of Estonian wildman Valery Semishkur, but is now eyeing the major titles that his considerable achievements as an amateur suggested were his for the taking.

Delaney, 31-9-1 (17), gained notoriety as Commonwealth light-heavyweight champion in the 1990s, but has matured into an imposing heavyweight who trades on his toughness and never say die attitude.

>From the East End of London where fighting is a way of a life – the 34-year-old Delaney has size, heart, experience and a solid chin capable of withstanding Haye’s lustiest blows. So the South Londoner will have to be at his best to add Delaney to his list of KO victims – tune into www.SecondsOut.tv and catch all the action.

Also part of the package will be undercard bouts featuring prospects Anthony Small, Geard Ajetovic and ‘Mighty’ Joe Young.
