Whitaker and Castillo top Warrior’s Boxing Promotions card on Oct 30

13.10.03 – Professional boxing continues at the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Coconut Creek Casino the night before Halloween with an outstanding lineup of bouts featuring Lance “Mount” Whitaker, Elieser Castillo, Tito “El Misil” Mendoza, Whyber Garcia and Ada “Ace” Velez.

The card, to be held at The Seminole Coconut Creek Casino will take place the night before Halloween and will consist of six bouts that include the North American Boxing Association and North American Boxing Federation heavyweight championships as well as the NABA featherweight championship and International Women’s Boxing Federation bantamweight world championship female bout.

Heavyweight Lance “Mount” Whitaker (26-2-1, 22 KOs) will square off against TBA for the vacant NABA heavyweight championship. Whitaker is coming off of a third round TKO victory over Russell Chasteen in June. Whitaker, the former No. five world rated heavyweight is continuing his bid to regain his top contender status en route to his first world championship challenge.

In the co-main event, the current NABF heavyweight champion, Elieser Castillo (24-3-2, 13 KOs) is making his Warrior’s Boxing Promotions debut taking on Washington D.C. heavyweight, Corey “T-Rex” Sanders (23-7, 15 KOs) in a 12 round championship bout. Castillo, who defected to United States from Cuba in the early 90’s, has steadily climbed the heavyweight ladder since his pro debut in 1996. Castillo owns knockout victories over Andre Purlette in 2001 and Lawrence Cley-Bey in June. Castillo holds the World Boxing Council No. 12 world rating.

International Boxing Federation No. eight rated super middleweight Tito “El Misil” Mendoza (29-4, 22 KOs), fighting for the third time in the super middleweight division, is taking on Antoine Robinson (26-7-1, 9 KOs.) A proud native of Panama, the 6’3 Mendoza is eager to continue his rise in the super middleweight division. He currently is coming off a third round KO victory of Tyler Hughes in August.

WBC No. 12 rated featherweight Whyber Garcia (12-1, 9 KOs) will vie for the vacant NABA featherweight title taking on Bernard Harris (22-17-2 10 KOs) of Detroit in a twelve round championship bout. In his most recent effort, Garcia, from Colon, Panama, defeated Victor Julio by way of third round KO at the Gimnasio Roberto Duran in Panama City, Panama in June to capture the WBC Latin American Super Featherweight title.

In other action, Women’s International Boxing Association female world champion, Ada “Ace” Velez (14-1-1, 6 KOs) is taking on Lisa Brown (8-0-1, 3 KOs), who is putting her IWBF title on the line in a ten round female bantamweight championship bout. Velez is fighting for the first time since a disqualification victory over Delia Gonzalez in June to capture the WIBA title. Brooklyn native, “Vicious” Veronica Simmons (3-0, 2 KOs) is making her Warrior’s Boxing Promotions debut taking on Yvonne Reis (4-1, 2 KOs) in a six round female super middleweight special attraction.
