Jake Paul is driving his 2026 return straight toward Tommy Fury, targeting the one opponent who still holds a clean win over him after the Anthony Joshua loss redirected his matchmaking. The rematch carries direct consequences for Paul’s standing and removes any room for debate tied to their first scorecards.
Nakisa Bidarian spoke plainly about the objective while outlining a late-summer to autumn window. “He wants to prove to the world that he can beat Tommy Fury,” Bidarian told Sky Sports. He continued, “Jake, before Joshua, had one loss on his record, and that was Tommy Fury. I would love for that fight to happen because I think it’s a great barometer of how far Jake has come.”
Paul (10-2, 7 KOs) dropped a split decision to Fury (10-0, 4 KOs) in 2023 after getting outworked. Fury stayed behind the jab, touched the body, and forced Paul to reset when exchanges tightened. Paul found moments with the right hand yet spent long stretches loading up, which allowed Fury to bank rounds through cleaner activity.
Tommy Fury Rematch Tests Jake Paul’s True Level
From a trainer’s angle, Paul is returning to a rival whose habits are already logged in the film room. Fury fights upright, keeps his feet set, and punches in short bursts that catch the eye of judges. Paul needs a firmer jab, tighter guard transitions, and better punch economy so he is not chasing single shots while rounds slip away.
Bidarian leaned into the development angle when discussing the sequel. “It’s a great barometer of how far Jake has come,” he said, tying Paul’s progress directly to the outcome rather than sales talk. Improvement must show in ring command, distance judgment, and the willingness to build rounds with disciplined work.
Staging the fight in the UK remains part of the plan after their first event produced strong ticket demand and constant noise. Fury operates comfortably in that setting, and visiting fighters often burn energy early when the crowd reacts to every landed punch. Paul will need a composed tempo if the bout stretches into the late rounds.
