Thousands of tickets have already been sold and the demand is huge for the cruiserweight semi-finals at the Arena Riga in Latvia on June 15. Now all ticket categories are on sale.
Hotly-anticipated is an understatement with tickets being sold rapidly for the cruiserweight double-header – Mairis Briedis vs Krzysztof Glowacki and Yunier Dorticos vs Andrew Tabiti.
“I am extremely happy to learn that – after only 24 hours ticket sale – the fans will turn up in huge numbers on June 15,” said Briedis the hometown- and Latvian national hero. “It motivates me to train hard throughout the training camp to be ready when the time comes to stand in front of the Latvian crowd.”
The sensational WBSS semi-finals of Mairis Briedis (25-1, 18 KOs) vs Krzysztof Glowacki (31-1, 19 KOs) and Yunier Dorticos (23-1, 21 KOs) vs Andrew Tabiti (17-0, 13 KOs) on June 15 mark the third time for the World Boxing Super Series to travel to Riga.
“It is a unique chance for the fans to be able to experience the four boxers, who are fighting for a place in the final for the Ali Trophy, on the same night, said Briedis.
A Season 1 quarter-final and semi-final, Mairis Briedis vs Mike Perez and Aleksandr Usyk vs Mairis Briedis, were previously held at the Arena Riga in front of capacity crowds.
“It is fantastic for the local fans who will have had a chance to witness two bouts in a row with top3 fighters in the world – first Aleksandr Usyk, now Glowacki facing me – something that would make any other country in the world jealous and something that is so very rare in boxing,” said Briedis.

“The fans in Riga are amazing,” said Krzysztof Glowacki. “I fought at the Arena Riga in 2017 on the undercard of the WBSS quarter-final Briedis vs Pe-rez and I remember a wonderful atmosphere. But ‘Glowka’ is coming for the win and Briedis should prepare for a war!”

Mairis Briedis and Krzysztof Glowacki both defeated their hard fighting quarter-final opponents by unanimous decisions November 10 last year in Chicago. Briedis beat Germany’s Noel Mikaelian to claim a spot in the semi-final, while Glowacki took the win against Russia’s Maksim Vlasov.
Cuba’s Yunier Dorticos won a tough twelve round unanimous decision in Orlando over Germany’s Mateusz Masternak in his quarter-final. While USA’s Andrew Tabiti won a hard-fought decision on the road over Russia’s Ruslan Fayfer in Ekaterinburg to advance to the semi-finals. Now the ‘KO doctor’ and ‘The Beast’ are about to clash in the Latvian capital.
With the Judgement Day semi-finals taking place the same night the winners will go head-to-head after the battles have been settled!
