Tyson Fury hits twitter again: “I'll have three fights in 2018”

Former heavyweight king Tyson Fury has teased us before, with messages put out on social media promising “a big announcement,” only for none to come. Tyson has also vowed to retire, telling us via twitter how he will never fight again. And just recently, the never-beaten former champ announced via his twitter page how he would not be seeking a new license to box from the British Boxing Board of Control.

Tyson Fury Vs. Shannon Briggs: Car crash or Smash hit!?

Tyson Fury Vs. Shannon Briggs: Car crash or Smash hit!?

Shock, horror – heavyweight superstar (personality) Shannon Briggs, still on suspension for a failed drugs test, has called out heavyweight giant (in every sense of the word) Tyson Fury, still on suspension for an alleged failed drugs test.

Now, say what you want about the very notion of this fight – a disgrace, a sure-fire bullseye of a black eye for the sport, a farce, a car crash in waiting – but admit this: you WOULD watch it if actually happened. Let’s not be hypocrites here, we all know we would tune in, not only to the fight itself, but to all the pre-fight fun and games masquerading as press conferences, head-to-heads, etc.

Tyson Fury has apparently announced his retirement from boxing, again

Tyson Fury has apparently announced his retirement from boxing, again

Tyson Fury is notoriously known for changing his mind again and again, and for making statements he pretty much retracts soon after making them. But, taking the former, unbeaten world heavyweight champ at his word once again, it seems the 28 year old has announced his retirement from boxing.

Fury often releases messages via social media, but his latest message, put up on instagram earlier today, is apparently a goodbye to boxing.

Joshua must “forget about Fury,” says heavyweight great Holyfield, “Fury really isn't one of those big-name fights for him”

Heavyweight legend and all time great Evander Holyfield managed to get himself all the big-name, mega fights he wanted during his fine career; and “The Real Deal” won most of them. Now, with future heavyweight star (or present heavyweight star, depending on your view) Anthony Joshua attempting to carve out his own greatness, Holyfield has given him a bit of advice.

Peter Fury says when Tyson returns, “he will go straight into a world title fight”

Peter Fury says when Tyson returns, “he will go straight into a world title fight”

Peter Fury, trainer of course of unbeaten former heavyweight champ Tyson Fury, says his charge is “in a good place right now,” and that at around 24 stone (approx 336 pounds) he has lost a bit of weight. Speaking on The Bunce Boxing Hour, Peter said that Tyson is sparring to get in shape, not using bags or jumping rope.

Sparring, ten, 15, 20 rounds, three times a week, Fury is slowly shedding the bulk he put on during his layoff. As regards to his impending ring return, Peter said that right now their legal team is working on overturning the suspension Tyson was hit with some months back, and that “if” this is successful, the plan is for Fury to return on the September 23rd bill that will see Hughie Fury challenge WBO heavyweight champ Joseph Parker in Manchester.

Tyson Fury says he's heaviest he's ever been at 112-pounds overweight – but is still targeting September/October return

Will former heavyweight ruler Tyson Fury ever get himself into decent enough fighting shape to be able to launch the ring return he has been speaking about for some time now? Judging by the unbeaten 28 year old’s physical appearance at this past weekend’s events in Salford, near Manchester, to pay tribute to the 100 years of legendary local boxing gym Collyhurst and Moston Lads Club, it looks ever doubtful.

Whose thumping of the great Wladimir Klitschko was more impressive; Joshua’s or Fury’s?

Whose thumping of the great Wladimir Klitschko was more impressive; Joshua's or Fury's?

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury have been going back and forth on social media, engaging a war of words ahead of, we hope, a super fight between the two giants. Both men are unbeaten, talented and have a genuine claim to being the best heavyweight in the world – and it is their respective wins over Wladimir Klitschko that give both AJ and “The Gypsy King” the right to claim their dominance over the division.

Tyson Fury on him Vs. Joshua: “If it doesn't happen it will be like Lennox Lewis-Riddick Bowe”

Of all the must-see, must happen fights that we didn’t actually see, because they didn’t happen, the 1990s heavyweight classic that would have been Lennox Lewis-Riddick Bowe has to be one of the biggest disappointments. Back and forth these two stars and rival champions went, only for the fight to fail to get off the ground.

Former heavyweight king Tyson Fury does not want a fight between himself and Anthony Joshua to go the same way: nowhere. Just this week, unbeaten WBA/IBF champ Joshua called Fury out, saying this is the fight the fans want and therefore it is “top of my list.”
