Some fights are, by no way of an exaggeration, tiring even to watch. Case in point, the third and final light heavyweight war between the superbly evenly matched Jeff Harding and Dennis Andries.
There have been quite a few superb away wins scored by British fighters over the years; fights that saw the underdog British warrior go to the other guy’s home country, sometimes his backyard, and bring home the victory, and with it the title.
Jeff Harding, the first Australian to win a world light-heavyweight title, was the epitome of tough. Blessed with a granite chin, intestinal fortitude to die for, and a willingness to fight the best, often in his opponent’s backyard, Harding might not have been pretty to watch but, boy, was he entertaining.
