IBF World welterweight champion Errol ‘The Truth’ Spence Jr. (23-0, 20 KOs) wore down and halted former 2 division world champion Lamont ‘Havoc’ Peterson (35-4-1, 17 KOs) in a 8th stoppage on Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The fight was halted by Peterson’s trainer Barry Hunter at the start of round 8. Peterson was too beaten up for Hunter to allow the fight to continue.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but sometimes, I find myself wanting to watch something a little predictable on TV or in the theater. Don’t get me wrong-I have nothing against plot twists or character development and certainly enjoy watching shows that contain those elements. Heavyweight World Champion Deontay Wilder and Welterweight World Champions Keith Thurman and Errol Spence Jr. met with the media on Saturday at Barclays Center to discuss their upcoming bouts and expected 2018 campaigns.

Wilder will defend his WBC belt on Nov. 4 against mandatory challenger Bermane Stiverne live on SHOWTIME from Barclays Center in a Premier Boxing Champions event. Thurman announced he expects to return in early 2018 in his first bout since unifying the division and subsequent surgery.
