Tyson Fury’s trainer SugarHill Steward has confirmed that he was not training him at any time for a fight against Oleksandr Usyk in March.
Oleksandr Usyk’s promoter Alex Krassyuk says the fight against Tyson Fury is now off for April 29th because he didn’t want to compromise in the negotiations.
Tyson Fury’s co-promoter Frank Warren remains hopeful the Fury-Oleksandr Usyk fight can and will still happen. News came earlier today, telling us how the fight, scheduled for April 29 in London, had “collapsed” and that Usyk had “shut down” his training camp and had moved on, this due to how no deal could be reached with regards to “material terms critical to the deal beyond the [purse] split.”
Negotiations are still ongoing between heavyweight world champions Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury. The two are quibbling over the split for the rematch clause, which Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) wants to be a 50-50 deal if the contest takes place in the UK, whereas IBF, WBA & WBO champion Usyk wants a 70-30 split.
In bad news plenty of people pretty much saw coming, it’s been confirmed that the heavyweight unification showdown between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will NOT be happening on April 29th at Wembley.

Tyson Fury will have to find his pen in a hurry, as the WBA has given him and IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk until April 1st to sign the bout contracts to avoid the mandatory Daniel Dubois being ordered.
IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk just posted on social media that he’s sent his points of agreement to Tyson Fury, and he said that the “clock is ticking” for him to agree to the deal.
Tyson Fury took to social media today to assure fans that the undisputed heavyweight fight against Oleksandr Usyk is “definitely” on for April 29 and that tomorrow he’ll begin serious training for the fight.
