while I’ve been a Golota supporter for years, from the photo, it looks like he couldn’t be bothered to exercise a bit …

This is interesting. I’ ve seen Tyson saying that Gołota was robbed in two title fights. I’ve seen Lenox Lewis saying that Gołota was one of the best fighters he fought againts and George Foreman saying that he was a phenomen and that nobody could stand in front of Bowe and exchange hits and Gołota did it twice, he also said that it is a little sad that he always found a way to lose fight where he was winning. He ended his carrier eventually but with no tilte. Maybe you have better news from “boxing world”, but I belive that there is bigger respect for Gołota and what he did for boxing then for Adamek for example, not mentioning Haye or Povietkin who maneged to get tittle cheap.

There is no shame in giving such a good fjght at the age of 45 (both guys are 45). I think you didn’t see it. It was good ending carrier fight for both fighters. Nobody in Poland expected such a good fight.

Saleta was great kickboxer but he was European Champion once in boxing so he is not just kickboxer. He was a boxer for the most of his carrier. I know that he was training with Klichko on kickboxing camp. Is Klichko a boxer or kickboxer? I don’t know.
Andrew Golota was one of the greatest but never succesful (except his two bronze olimpic medals and couple of amateaur titles). If David Haye or any contender really nowadays walked into ring with Golota in his prime he would be blown up from the ring. Unfortunatelly he has damaged his left hand real bad in car crash (his friend was killed also) in 1999. After he lost his biggest weapon he was never the fighter he might have been. When he startet his carrier in USA he destroyed anybody with that left jab. You should see his fights with Bowe. The socond one was the best fight I have ever seen. He wasn’t ment to be chmpion he should be. He won title tight with Ruiz and they robbed him.

This really stinks. Another boxer gets beaten up by a guy coming from another sport and in this case, Saleta was a kick boxer. If this happens more often, I’m giving up being a boxing fan at least, in the heavyweight category. Saleta is older than Golota.

Richard Bulger

Poor Andrew, he is one Polish fighter who could not win the Big One. He had three or four shots at a title and just could not bring home the belt. Tough guy though. Credit to him in a violent game.

Maybe Saleta could be P)rices 1st comeback fight.

BIG Foot

He’s old and should quit. He should be fairly well to do after all of his bit fights and in a relatively impoverished Poland.

What a shame for Golota – he earned big money at his peak and now is getting his organs and brain scrambled………very sad on a human level.
