Broner is the truth

It’s Me, Ernie

You didn’t miss anything K.C., that’s just some douche posting under my screen name…

Thanks Patrick, alot of these notions about how fighters should speak behave and fight stylistically have their roots in individual cultural preferences ie the oft promoted archetype of the servile, humble, shuffling athlete… Alot of these guys would NOT be who they are absent big egos and the balls that come with that sort of demeanor… Boxing is unlike the NBA, NFL or MLB, there is no league or salaries, you are an independent contractor that is paid on a fight by fight basis and its part of your responsibility to develop a product and brand that is marketable (Mayweather)… Broner is not the first big persona in boxing nor will he be the last as long has he backs it up in the ring more power to him… Screw humble losers…!!

Limey jay

If you can’t see the talent in broner, well then I,m afraid it’s time to start following golf or ping pong, anything but boxing cos he has talent to burn and has a spiteful streak in him aswell, he will be a p4p top banana in the not to distant future.
It’s just a shame he is a d………..oh we’ll you ant ave it all I guess.
Sred tells it like it is, he gets some stick from muppets like bears, but that’s the biggest endorsement you can get I suppose.

Well said, Sredmond! You’re one of the few on this site that knows what they’re talking about. Seems there are too many that judge fighters by some sort of personality test/popularity contest, instead of how talented they are in the ring.

Gary Russel Jr, has faced weak comp even though he looks VERY talented… Broner has stepped it up nicely he has ALREADY beein in the ring with Ponce De Leon and Demarco both of whom have been WORLD Champions… Demarco was TOP man at 135, and expected to provide a good test for Broner instead he turned it into a coming out party.. Next NOVICE fans will say “damn it he needs to change weight classes because I say so”….REALITY is that you can be great by fighting 1 or 2 divisions… How many weight classes did Hagler fight in? Broner is 23 years old and he is moving along VERY nicely and like ALL super talented fighters he is getting penalized for making it look too easy….Mayweather has defeated countless World Champions and so has Donaire but to hear some tell it they have not faced a single accomplished fighter in their whole careers…Broner is 23 and has been a titlist in 2 divisions that something to be proud of..

kneel before chocolate god? WTF?!!! Did I miss something?!!

It’s Me, Ernie

I really respect Broner and I would kneel in front of this chocolate God.

Well his last opponent can’t really be called weak comp. He was just that much better than him and made it look easy. But I do agree I would like to see his comp stay at a competitive level. I have not seen Rees fight so I am not really to sure how good he is.

Fight Aficionado

Yeah agree with Patrick. Broner’s aggressive he’s not much of a runner and he goes for the KO. So he has the makings of an exciting boxer. Problem is his weak ass comp. Let’s see what he does against a guy who will punch back and faster than a three toed sloth.

Broner is a chuck and jive type boxer, shoulder rolls in and out of the shell. Not a joe Frazier but more as described

Broner “runs?” What are you talking about? He’s right in front, stalking his opponents, and using the shoulder roll to avoid counters. And if you don’t like watching Broner, I have to question whether you’re a boxing fan — because what Broner does IS boxing, at the very highest level.

Apparantly Rees is a Welsh champ….Perfect for Broner that uses the hit and run like hell style…Rees leaves himself completly wide open for big shots…Boring…!!!

Posted February 11, 2013 8:21 pm

Who the hell is Gavin Rees??????!!

Posted February 11, 2013 8:17 pm

Rees is an honest pug and legitimate tough guy, but very sloppy and way too defensively loose to see round 12 against Broner. There will be little reason for Broner to back peddle at any time during this bout. When I gaze into freshly windexed crystal ball. I see a sleepwalking Gavin, wobbly and bleeding profusely, all over his deathbed. I hope to Broner in alot tougher next go round, cause this is ridiculously predictable.
