I can see Maidana doing well in the first half of the fight, but about that time he will be lost…..He’s a game kid, strong and takes a good dig and his conditioning is as good as Floyds…he doesn’t cut the ring of well and his punches are easily timed. He has to fight at full speed to get anywhere with Floyd,so he might drain early….Floyd by UD……Posted April 26, 2014 11:46 am
Maidana is a fierce and determined puncher. he’s also developed what must be classified as an “expert” jab to the head and body. it’s become increasingly intentional and frequently disrupted and set-up the likes of Soto-Karass, Lopez, and Broner. precisely what the jab is supposed to do and you can tell that Maidana sincerely appreciates this new addition to his fight-profile. that being said, Mayweather is on another level. he can be hit but he can’t (or hasn’t) been overwhelmed. he can be pressured but he doesn’t panic or wilt. moreover, Mayweather is perhaps the strongest welter out there and possesses elite-level conditioning. along with virtually everything else in his arsenal. Maidana is very capable of hammering out an upset simply not v. the likes of Floyd Mayweather.Posted April 25, 2014 7:51 pm
It won’t be Mayweather-Hatton…
Maidana is better than Hatton. Maidana will hit Floyd well. He will get him with his arching, chopping right hander because anyone who does the shoulder roll gets caught with that particular punch. MM will rip Floyd at times, because when he scores the right the left hook is there for him. Maidana punches ferociously.
He won’t beat Floyd. Won’t nail him flush like he did Broner, and may get stopped late.Posted April 25, 2014 7:11 pm
As much as I like Maidana, he stands no chance against Mayweather. This is the reason why he was picked for the fight. Maidana has a very poor defense and footwork, and gets hit a lot. Mayweather will have size, height, reach and speed and weight advantage. I don’t think the fight will be very entertaining; Mayweather will stay away from those big punches of Maidana and focus on counterpunching, unless he starts feeling comfortable (as happenned vs Hatton) and goes for the kill. But that has not happened lately in Mayweather’s record.Posted April 25, 2014 6:56 pm
Total mismatch. Amir Kahn dropped Maidana with a body shot. Floyd inside of six.Posted April 25, 2014 6:53 pm
Maidana was hand picked by little floyd. Maidana will lose .Posted April 25, 2014 3:46 pm
Yes, it’s a mismatch because Floyd is that good. Just like all the other victims of Floyd Maidana will only come off second best.Posted April 25, 2014 11:37 am
This fight is garbage. Definitely a ripoff. Mismatch of the history. I pity those who’ll get defrauded by this trash.Posted April 25, 2014 4:02 am
If Maidana beats Fraud Mayweather
It’s up to you Marco . . . . .Posted April 25, 2014 2:46 am
I think the fight will be great, but I think Maidana needs to keep a cool head. Because think like Broner, Floyd will again do alot of holding on, grabbing etc as he does when he senses some danger from a barrage of punches. And also Maidana won’t enjoy the running away constantly. HE seems to show his stress at that.Posted April 25, 2014 2:07 am
Maidana is a real slugger, canelo is really a boxer that punch hard. He can’t fight inside, not busy enought. And he punches what he see, too late for fast ighter .
I predict he will give Floyd a heated chase all night, vs canelo and show floyd he very hitable but even a slow slugger that can throw unexpected logbbing hooks .
Floyd do play head games, if you play along, you play into his trap. And he lead the tempo.
He start boxing you and throw slow lazy jab. He want you to avoid or block his slow jabs, what he doing I’d baiting you into his boxing game giving you coffdance in your boxing style. So you think I Am make him miss iam doing ok in boxing. By the 3-4 round he slowly increase the speed and add his hook and uppercut mix and straight hand and hold. You are confused and are a sitting duck and lose your original fight game.don’t fight his game.
The right mind set is I will get hit but I will hit him in exchange and harder and be busy, he can jab me but he will pay in the 2-5 counterunch I will give roght back, and chase I will from round one.

Floyd’s gonna knock Maidana out! Maidana CAN’T take a punch!Posted April 25, 2014 12:20 am
Gonzo however, should not be taken seriously!
He posts selfies of his muscles on a boxing message board.
LMAO …. Say no more!Posted April 24, 2014 11:48 pm
Win or lose, Maidana is a man and a credit to the game and a role model to the kids thinking about their future in a sport full of corruption.
Hard work does win respect and world titles.Posted April 24, 2014 11:44 pm

Maidana will never be the same again after Mayweather had finished mauling him.Posted April 24, 2014 11:02 pm
We just hope that Tony Weeks will not break the fighters right away when they clinches. If he does, the 0.01% chance for Maidana will be gone.Posted April 24, 2014 9:30 pm

99.99% do not give El Chino any chance to beat FMj . But , if the .01% comes to fruition as a stoppage or knock out victory over Mayweather Jr, Argentina will be revisited over the ” Hands of God” claimed by Diego Maradona. Maidana claims that he’ll do it for his country and not just for himself and that is a tremendous motivation for anybody to achieve a goal like the victory he’s aiming against Money Mayweather.Posted April 24, 2014 8:23 pm
Hidalg0 very true 100%
Maidana should run at him as soon as the first bell goes and batter Mayweather down. Floyd wins if you give him time to box, the best way to stop that is give him no time, turn it into a street fight, be on top of him every single second of the fight. That’s the best way to beat Mayweather literally run at him and batter him around the ring.
Then again, if Steve Smodger is the ref (the worst ref in the history of boxing) then Maidana stands no chance. I’ve never seen a ref as bad as Smodger, he’s worse than crap.Posted April 24, 2014 7:42 pm
GOOD. Get ready to hand it over to Floyd after the Fight.Posted April 24, 2014 6:12 pm
Maidana has -0- chance. Just (maybe) picking up a check.Posted April 24, 2014 5:46 pm

Go to go lunch. Interesting topic. Laters……Posted April 24, 2014 5:16 pm
Murder an that why I said they can have a fight Night no rehydrate fight at 150 lb same as weight in, if all agree. It. A Logical fight PAC vs canelo will tha t a money fight both side want.
cannot wait to see the size of the ring, floyd has to have every advantage he wins by tko latePosted April 24, 2014 5:14 pm
Mired roman Sergio Martinez fought margarito at 147 lb he was koed. They threw in the towel.
Canelo weighed 172 fight night. And ill take canelo by late tko over lara. Lara is a little overrated. Angulo almost k.o. lara until he ran out of gas!Posted April 24, 2014 5:08 pm
Peej canelo is a c-rated fighter because he has no defense he never get pass a good boxer. Lara will eat him. And he has no inside fight he not a slugger, he a not bad boxer that punch hard, and he stand straight up, chin in the air.
They could as I said have a fight night limit at the same weight in 150 lb. best thing here talking. And they could open the cold war and by pass Floyd he can fight all the slow slugger he wants.Posted April 24, 2014 5:05 pm
@mike tyson – didnt quite understand your post. Could you please elaborate sir?Posted April 24, 2014 5:05 pm
Murderma wrong, he part of the reason Floyd retired. And maragarato, beat sergio Marquez up at 147 lb s tko lost .that martinez never revenge, the king who was affraid. LOL
Post it on the wrong tread LOL
Fight night weight limit at 150 lb it’s could be the biggest payout fight beside Floyd .
Posted April 24, 2014 4:43 pm
Canolo was 152 lb Floyd was 150 lb . He could rehydrate 12 lb to 163 lb and he the same weight manny fought margarito. So it possible . They could also have a fight weight limit at 150 lb
Who knows roach also wants PAC to return to 140 lb and get Garcia and .the thuth is we don’t know.

Canelo is far better than margacheato!!!Posted April 24, 2014 4:49 pm
Bradley would not win a decision against Floyd. Floyd would take Bradley to school. I would of liked to see the fight but looks like it won’t happen now especially after Bradley lost. He fought with no plan B. His only plan was to throw hard punches and try and get a KO. After round 6 that plan didn’t work.Posted April 24, 2014 4:30 pm
Canelo is no C rated fighter. And after Margacheato was caught cheating he was never doing what he did before. Not to mention he was weight drained. I just know Arum is not gonna put Pac in with Canelo. Especially since Canelo isn’t gonna come down to 150 like Margacheato did. Only reason that happened was because of the pay day. Canelo gets paid.Posted April 24, 2014 4:29 pm
Peej you are doing the same as you do floyd. He wins , s/hit you can’t even get fighter who win right. Let’s leave it up To them maybe this is the start of both side fighting it’s doesn’t have to be manny but they are talking so be positive ,
PAC beat margarito 163, word was Bradley was 160 fight night. Caleno is a c-rated fighter he has no defense no inside fight.manny would beat him UD.Posted April 24, 2014 4:22 pm
Canelo vs pac? Canelo way too big and strong would walk down pac k.o. him late rounds! Honestly not a fair fight!Posted April 24, 2014 4:14 pm
@anonymous – respect to you as well. Dont know much about sugar ray robinson to say how he would do against floyd. But from tapes i saw he looked like a beast!Posted April 24, 2014 4:12 pm
And another thing even Bradley counld possibly beat uncle Floyd in a split decission. And Floyd call them both amatures ,right after that he say but I can’t fight them as there are with arum . Chicken with a big mouth.
Isn’t Floyd a pro athlete , who is payed and don’t hold grudges but is payed millions well to fight the best.
Cause Arum is not gonna put Pac in with Canelo. Canelo is to big.Posted April 24, 2014 4:03 pm
Why?Posted April 24, 2014 4:01 pm
Pav vs Canelo will not happen. I laughed when that was reported.Posted April 24, 2014 3:38 pm
Good news. OSCAR implying his own ideas now. Somehow you get the idea Schaefer
Oscar De La Hoya on Wednesday told the Los Angeles Times a couple of interesting things regarding himself and his former promoter, Bob Arum. Although Richard Schaefer – CEO of De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions – was not mentioned by name, he was alluded to in one of the comments.
First, and we’re paraphrasing, Lance Pugmire of the Times tweeted out that De La Hoya had reached out to Arum about making a Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez-Manny Pacquiao fight. Of course, since there has been so much hate between Golden Boy and Arum’s Top Rank Inc., a fight like that has been highly unlikely before this apparent change of heart by De La Hoya.
A second tweet had De La Hoya saying that if anyone at Golden Boy has any differences with Arum, “It’s on them.”
We spoke to Schaefer by telephone Wednesday. He was asked to respond to both tweets regarding his boss. He said nothing about Pacquiao-Alvarez. As for the second item, Schaefer said flat-out, “Then I guess it’s on me.”
Arum and Schaefer have been at the heart of the so-called “cold war.”
Given the length of time that boxing’s ‘Cold War’ between Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions has existed, it came with great surprise earlier this week that the two biggest stateside promoters were in talks to stage a major event. A report by Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times stated that Bob Arum and Oscar de la Hoya – presidents of Top Rank and Golden Boy, respectively – have begun talks for a possible showdown between box office stars Manny Pacquiao and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.
The news was significant in that de la Hoya, who spent most of his pro career under the Top Rank banner before forming his own promotional company, even called out his own staff in his own efforts to help thaw tension between the two companies. The former six-division titlist insists that there is business to be made and that anyone at Golden Boy who still harbors ill will towards Top Rank needs to change their way of thinking.
Even if Arum and de la Hoya have rekindled their working relationship, there exists several problems with believing such a fight will happen. Alvarez, who is coming off of a 10th round stoppage of Alfredo Angulo, is already set for a pay-per-view headliner, a dangerous challenge at that as he faces Erislandy Lara on July 19.
“I don’t think Pacquiao and Canelo are going to fight,” Mayweather firmly believes.
“Me personally, I don’t think the fight will happen. If it does, I pick Canelo to win,” Mayweather suggests. “But I don’t think it’ll happen.”Posted April 24, 2014 3:32 pm

On the flip side Floyd as expected will keep maidana at the end of his jab, maidana has be super busy and in super good condition as he has throw 100 punches a round it’s the 3-5 punch that would get you inside.
If maidan show this work rate from the first round vs canelo trying to outbox Floyd and slow down when he inside. He will impress and dictate the fight keeping Floyd off balance He can’t let Floyd trying to make it a boxing game.and kill time. And watch out when Floyd about to holds that when he be trying for your ribs ko. Shot.Posted April 24, 2014 2:45 pm
But none of you have actually seen Sugar Ray Robinson fight though? Only the small amount of fights he has on youtube right? Im not saying he would beat Ray Robinson but yall act like he would run right through Floyd. Yall really don’t know boxing. I bet Ray Robinson is the only fighter yall can name before 1990Posted April 24, 2014 2:45 pm
murderman, respect … you know your boxing. Duckweather wouldn’t have lasted 3 rounds with Robinson. Sugar Ray was way out of his league.Posted April 24, 2014 2:41 pm
I watch canelo and Floyd full fight last night, what got me is canelo isn’t a inside fighter. When he got inside he didn’t know what to do. Bang away boy that your hard earn time. He a outside fight and fight what he sees . For Floyd that too late..
Maidana is a insider fighter, . In a quench, he regularly does his body shots and adds his over the top cross clubbing hook, and he anticipate his punches thrown to we’re his opponate will be. Much advance vs
My call call, maidana betters canelo And give floyd his toughest fight since a while and show floyd is hittable.
Floyd by late stoppage, Collazo by decision or late stoppage, Froch by stoppage, Cotto by decision (going with my heart). Can’t think of some of the others. Thurman by stoppage before the 6th.Posted April 24, 2014 2:10 pm
Everybody game time, if you want to play, decide and call the fights ahead, As boxtra does it’s all in fun no money involve. Some exciting pleasure. We have 7-8 good fight in a row. Haven’t had this in a long time. And no over bragging or loser teasing.
Boxing knowledge creditability, eyes for talents, lucky, aware, don’t know bean about fighting.
sample me Iam 3 for 3 just added porter UD or ko. And Hopkins. Your allow to skip a fight.
This also would bring the froum talk more to the aspect of a fighter hardware or tool he carries. And what advantage he hold over another fighter. And less of because he my favorite fighter and I like him he should win. How will technically he win is what we want. We seem to be heading that way, the hard cores do just that. just adding some fun to it.
When are they going to start breaking that concrete he has in his shoes. Awesome job cherry picking once again.
If Mayweather is the greatest he must fight the best and go up in weight like Robinson did.
Fight, ggg, Ward, Pacman, Martinez…..Posted April 24, 2014 1:11 pm
I like Maidana and will watch the fight, but it puts me off that for every fight they need to find a “this is the first time Mayweather faces…” to try to sell it to us like we’re idiots. No, this is not the first time Mayweather faces a hard puncher, or a determined guy, or a combination of both. Chico Coralles was as big a puncher as Maidana and put as much pressure as he could. Is Maidana more determined than Hatton and Baldomir? Or Cotto? Give us a break, please. We all know that Maidana is going to try and he can punch like a mule, but he’s simply not on the class of Floyd, or even guys that Floyd has fought before. If Maidana pulls this out it will be because he landed the punch of a lifetime, not because he grinded out Floyd over 12 rounds.Posted April 24, 2014 1:05 pm
Floydiots can’t get a grip of the reality that Floyd’s don’t have balls to face Pacqioua! Instead they go comparing how great he beat Marquez and Pacqiuao got floored by Marquez. The fact that Floyd don’t have balls to face an easy Pacqioua just doesn’t make any sense to me. The only sense here is Floyd is just plain scared to lose and that is why no Pacqiuoa ever!Posted April 24, 2014 1:05 pm
JACKS A JERK!floyd wud embaress the pygmy rice man just like jmm did when he sparked him clean out!!never seen a better KO than that!!best nights sleep paqi ever had!ZZzzzzzPosted April 24, 2014 12:21 pm
The man who would have made Floyd lay it all on the line was Manny Pacquiao, and the right time for THAT fight was 2009/10. They could have met a couple of times by now and made each other’s name even bigger. As it is, I doubt the fight will ever come off and Manny doesn’t need the Floyd fight now anyway, in the couple of years he says he has left. The Pacman is satisfied with his legacy.Posted April 24, 2014 12:18 pm
To beat Mayweather you need to have him fight Pacqiuoa! It’s a no brainier, the reason Floyd is ducking Pacqioua is because Pacqiuia can whoop his azz!Posted April 24, 2014 12:14 pm
37 years old will not KO a granite chin fighter! If you enjoy BHop styles then you are going to love Mayweather! No matter how things go down with this fight it will be a no brainier. Mayweather will win in a fashionly long 12 boring rounds!Posted April 24, 2014 12:12 pm
I like both Porter and Thurman. But both still need a lil more experience to beat floyd. If triple g and floyd met at 154 i would pick triple g by late k.o.Posted April 24, 2014 11:46 am
murderman I agree. No boxer is unbeatable, but it will take a better boxer than Chino to beat Mayweather. Golovkin has the speed and power and ability to do it but they’ll never meet in the ring because Golovkin will move up to 168 soon and fight Ward. And then Ward will move up and fight Kovalev eventually. Maybe Porter and Thurman have the best chance to beat Mayweather. Who knows. I think the lightweight division is the most exciting at the moment.Posted April 24, 2014 11:42 am
Floyd fought in the pocket against cotto and canelo. Both of those fighters are bigger, stronger, and far more dangerous than chino! I like chino but he has no shot! Floyd by ud or late tko! Easy money!Posted April 24, 2014 11:25 am
Hidalg0 I agree 100% all the way. That’s why despite the huge risks they take, I prefer fighters like Manny P and Gennady G and Sergy Kov, they bring excitement to the game. I wish I could of seen Sugar Ray Robinson, Charly Burley, and and the mighty atom Jimmy Wilde. But at least we have youtube now to watch those guys. My favourite fight, which was really a mad three rounds of total mayhem, was Hagler v Hearns. I was just a teenager lying in bed with a small portable radio listening to radio luxembourg fading in and out, (yeah I’m getting old now) the commentator was going mad from start to finish, it was insane, I’ve never heard radio commentary like that before or since. It’s one of those rare times when radio commentary really was fantastic. I’ll never forget it.Posted April 24, 2014 11:23 am
He laid a lot on the line against Cotto. Even tried to finish him off. What happens if he finishes off Maidana? Will yall say he lays in on the line then? Just cause he hasn’t had to lay it on the the line should speak volumes. Someone has to make you lay it out there. If you can coast through all your fights and still win by 10 rounds then why not do it.Posted April 24, 2014 11:09 am
I like boxing but it’s too violent and too dangerous, I don’t see why they can’t pretend to hit each other and just get points for style and the best style wins.Posted April 24, 2014 11:05 am
Mayweather, Rigo, Ward, Wlad, K and Vitali K, all have one thing in common, they totally dominate their opponents, boring they be, but that’s why they are the best.Posted April 24, 2014 11:01 am
Maidana will have to rush Mayweather to beat him, if he just stands there he’ll be beaten easily round after round. The only way he can beat Mayweather is if he gets in close and roughs him up all the time. Maidana has slow footwork he will have to be much faster to catch Mayweather. I just can’t see it happening, Mayweather will win on points.Posted April 24, 2014 10:58 am
Floyd will pot shot Maidana all night long. Maidana has the heart but he is way too slow. This will be nothing like the Broner fight. Khan vs Collazo will steal the show.Posted April 24, 2014 10:06 am
Well guess he won’t have nothing then he is going to come in there like duh did and try to bully Floyd around the ring 4 Rd he will slow down then get beat down like Hatton lolPosted April 24, 2014 10:04 am
