Sounds to me like the WBC rules are a moving target.

And if Martinez had not Broken his hand he was one Punch from KO’ing this Head First Plodding Pinyata?? Woulda Coulda Shouldas mean very little.. the fact is Chavez Chicken Jr. got beaten to a pulp that night.. Just look at that photo.. The Cheat looks like his face has been put through a Meat Grinder called Martinez…

Martinez was never one punch away from being stopped — had that been the case — it would have happened. It didn’t and it couldn’t because Martinez HAD and USED superior boxing skills which he COULD and DID because he was STRONGER and BADDER — that’s what makes the difference between being stopped and not being stopped. Anyway, one punch away will never, ever be good enough for a KO or TKO — you have to get the job done and Chavez was not good enough to do the job — plain and simple.

Ummm….Did any of you hear Chavez’ cornermen between rounds 11 and 12. Someone states “no no no we put the medicine in” as they were pushing a water bottle into his face. Perhaps the weed he tested positive for is a masking agent for whatever made him surge in the 12th round. Its kind of funny how Chavez was getting smoked in all 11 rounds and suddenly has renewed strength/power going into the 12 (very strange).

Angulo vs Cintron, Demarco vs Valero, Angulo vs Kirklan, Arreola vs Klitscko, Rios vs Abril, Diaz vs Broner, Eric Morales vs Garcia, Soto Karass vs Gabriel Rosado, Sotto Karass vs Mattyesse, Humberto Soto vs Matyesse, Chavez Cheato Jr. vs Martinez, etc etc etc.. Mexicans haven’t been doing too good.. canta y no Llores.. LOL Isn’t that the Mexican National Anthem?? Surely not Salsa..

hype buster

Please, please, please, please. Let me watch another beating to prove that fraud chavez was a true fraud. Head first hype job! Please, please, rematch!!!

“And one of them tested positive for a banned substance”. why not just call it what it is: Junior got caught smoking a little pot NOT using “PEDs ” or “loaded wraps” like so many of you Imbeciles were desperately hoping for (lol). i can’t help but chuckle at the huevos rancheros smeared all over the faces of ESB’s Real Housewives and bogus “experts” (lol) . . .

If Chavez Cheato Jr. is forced to not cheat and not gain 25+lbs overnight and forced to take Olympic Style Random Drug tests like Cotto and MOsely took.. Martinez would KO that toothless Chihuahua in 5 rounds… Look at how one Handed Martinez Busted up his ASS in the biggest fight of his Hyped Career in front of his Glove Loader Daddy and his Chubby Girl Freetah… even after landing a lucky shot with over 1 and a 1/2 minutes left Cheato Jr. could do nothing more then continue taking shots from a one handed tired Martinez…

Posted October 1, 2012 7:47 am

The Moment Martinez Camp said the rematch would be contingent on Chavez Cheato Jr. taking Olympic Style Random Drug tests.. you knew that Chicken Jr. would not do it.. fker is as dirty as his Glove Loading Father…

Can’t believe How Sulaiman would publicly admit Chavez Chicken Jr. got owned by the Argentinian and a rematch would be just as bad if not worse. Possibly ending the hyped up Bogus Career of Chavez Chicken Jr… I knew they’d chicken out of a Martinez Rematch..

“in any case, Money talks and Arum’s got a very $en$itive sense of hearing.”

This is a fact that can’t be denied or avoided. Too bad, too. But I saw two wounded puppies leave the ring that night, te tumbo. And one of them tested positive for a banned substance.

But we know Bob Arum. Look what he did for Margarito.

I personally dont think weed is a big deal, but I remember Tim Witherspoon getting way worse in the mid 80s than Jr got in 2012. Sulaiman is a POS period and needs to be shown the exit door kissing the feet of all the fighters he screwed along the way. That said Jr IMO needs a fight or two to get another title shot.

And NO passing the post fight drug testing… Sound familiar???

Posted September 30, 2012 7:05 pm

te tumbo

let’s see: NO PEDs; NO illegal handwraps; NO avoidance of post-fight testing; and NO rematch handout from Tio Sulaiman (lol). Junior Haters have exposed themselves to be Utter and Absolute Imbeciles.

The Chavez braintrust won’t negotiate for a Martinez fight again until Sergio is 39 or 40.. They’ll finagle some org. title first and demand the lion’s share of the purse again.. I’d like to see Chavez fight Edwin Rodriguez.. Rodriguez is green so they might take the fight — and physically they’re the same size and weight.

Martinez is a superb fighter who deserves at least one big payday, whether or not Chavez deserve the rematch. Golden Boy’s conflicting promotion robbed Sergio of a lot of money, since he took a small guarantee, hoping for pay-per-view to make up the difference. It did, but was deeply cut by those who opted to watch Showtime.

Sulaiman’s BS will, however, allow him to STRIP Martinez again when he signs for the re-match, bringing in another darling who may even now be funneling “support” to the WBC.

900+ punches later, a cut, bloodied, and injured Martinez had to rise from the canvas twice to finish the fight. Junior should be given the chance to cash-in on the severe ringwear he was able to impose on Martinez. besides, there is no doubt that he can improve on his performance while i question just how many more equally-taxing performances Martinez has left? in any case, Money talks and Arum’s got a very $en$itive sense of hearing. that will determine the rematch NOT the bitter and contradictory Junior-Hate, e.g., Wtf happened to Sulaiman giving Junior whatever he wants (you f’n imbeciles)?

gb the rematch. Geale and Martinez NOW

Posted September 30, 2012 6:04 am

Not in the day of facebook and twitter… The fans won’t stand for it.

The author writes, “Id venture to guess that Chavez Jr. could fight at Cowboy Stadium against pretty much any middleweight in the division ” … NOPE.. Are you kidding??? If he fought Patrick Thompson at Cowboy Stadium nobody would go for it.. This isn’t the 1950’s when top rated fighters could pad their record with any chump in their division. And you don’t bring a chump in to headline a fight at Cowboy Stadium against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Ray Ray

No way does Chavez jr deserve a rematch, he got out classed from the opening bell until the end, he had the better of Sergio 4 30 seconds in the hole fight

Posted September 29, 2012 10:24 pm

God damn I really hate it when I agree with sulaiman

Posted September 29, 2012 9:26 pm

The Mad Scientist

I didn’t know Chavez Jr was taking PED’s, when was that confirmed..??

Posted September 29, 2012 8:43 pm

Pigman – The 185+lb Kid did not have Martinez in the 12th.. he hurt Martinez and Martinez got up with over a minute left in the fight and continued to Box the Kids Ears off.. ZERO holding.. Chavez jr was just out of his C level league… even GodFather Sulaiman knows the kid just does not have what it takes to beat top level opponents…. I knew they’d chicken out of a rematch… once they gave it some thought..

Posted September 29, 2012 8:19 pm

I guess this was an offer Chavez’s godfather could refuse.

Posted September 29, 2012 8:00 pm

Thank You Mr. Sulaiman exactly what unbiased boxing fans have been saying all along after Jr. was beat..

Posted September 29, 2012 7:26 pm

The Olympic Style Drug Testing demand by Sergio for the rematch pretty much killed any rematch.. we all know Chavez Cheato Jr. is on PEDS…

Posted September 29, 2012 6:50 pm

You have to admit it, the Kid had Martinez in the 12th. The Kid has guts and heart. He showed me something. He is tough and takes a licking and comes back kicking.

Posted September 29, 2012 6:42 pm

chavez is a cheat end of story, he should be banned for at least 2 yrs and never allowed to not take a drug tesat again, i mean who doeas he think he is by not taking these drugs tests

Posted September 29, 2012 6:06 pm

Waste of time , how often do you have a rematch in boxing for such a one sided fight ! Think people should forget about it I for onr wont be watching no rematch !

Posted September 29, 2012 5:56 pm

They’ll wait til Sergio 40 & still get same result,Sergio will be retired by then he wants Floyd, canelo, cotto he already proved he’s light years ahead of jr skill wise. He’s lucky if he gets one of these 3 they don’t want him.

Posted September 29, 2012 5:01 pm

Useless Sulaiman still protecting fighters and receiving under the table $. Some things don’t change.

Posted September 29, 2012 4:42 pm

Sullieman was in Don Kings pocket for years and now has weasled his way into Bob Arums who used to be a WBA whore. I personally am sick of these clowns who call themselves presidents making decisions favoring a select few fighters and screwing a majority of them. Boxing needs a change right now and Sullimans exit is a good start!

Well, it really was a mismatch, but this is prizefighting!

Anything for protection. Bide your time and wait until Martinez ages a little more godfather? Will be the same result.
