i like glen tapia to he a good fighter he exciting but he in tough when he face james kirkland tho that fight aint going the distance it going to be a war of wills and heart tapia dont get enough credit for his boxing abilty people just think he just a brawler but he can box when he choose to he just choose to brawl somtimes i think it going to be a brawl between him and kirkland my concern with tapia is he seem like he fades somtimes during rounds when he seem like he aint really doing nothing cause he trying to catch his second wind when he do that when he comes back and let those hands fly the thing is kirkland aint going to let him rest and catch his second wind so it be interesting to see if tapia can handle the pace kirkland going to bring cause going to bring a fast pace that tapia not use to seeing but if tapia create distance and some space he can have some success tapia is pretty accurate with his punches he throws it smartly

yeah it a couple of fighters that had keandre gibson as there sparring partner it show he be giving them good work i remember they said canelo was beating some of his sparring partners up i think the only two that was standing was keandre and karl durgan who also a good fighter from philly but that good golden boy pick him tho if i remember correctly he was sign with top rank before idk what happen with that situration but he got a bright future ahead he seem like a humble guy so i look forward to seeing him on tv soon like a shobox card or show extreme card

Hey there, Big Head!!

Keandre was signed by Golden Boy on the strength of his sparring with Canelo this past Summer. From what I’ve been told, he gave Canelo everything he could handle and even forced Chepo to call a halt to the sparring session after only one round during one of the work days.

The kid has a lot of talent and is a very big 140 pound fighter at 5’10”.

As long as he stays disciplined outside of the ring, sky is the limit for keandre!!

Thanks Joseph! Awesome, I will listen to the embedded player. It’s great you have this blog radio and I especially like the trainer perspective on things instead of just the boxer’s perspective. Good night!

Thanks, Hidalgo!!

My favorite segment of the evening was the interview with Austin Trout…it was hilarious!! His comments about Lara were really funny!!

Also, surprisingly…Glen Tapia was awesome!! He was very candid and entertaining discussing his big December 7th bout with James Kirkland. he was really candid!!

Hey there, MMendoza!!

The embedded player will be up shortly…but you can click on the link to listen to the show anytime.

But Virgil had much to say about the entire Edwin/Andre contest, as well as Khan’s progression under his watch.

I actually asked Virgil about Freddie Roach’s comments stating that he wouldn’t be able to help Amir Khan. His response was very professional. Basically stating that he has a much different relationship with Amir…in a way that he felt he could demand more from him. He is very happy that Amir has renewed his commitment to the sport of boxing, and we should see the difference in 2014.

Wow! I was out tonight and missed a great show!

Tomato Can: I Didn’t catch the broadcast — work schedule conflicts. What did Hunter say about Khan’s progress? Actually, Khan did well in picking Hunter for trainer. Thought Shields put in Rodriguez too soon with Ward — he should have fought at least two other opponents — like Abraham or even Kessler before Ward. Least Rodriguez would had a chance to sharpen some more skills. 1 million dollars not bad though if that’s what Rodriguez earned in fight.

I agree with Hunter, Lara/Trout is a pickem fight. I pick Lara by SD…
