. . . that’s the expectation when you’ve just delivered the #1 KO in Boxing History.

TARK, Alexander was indeed overwhelmed by Bradley but who is Alexander? IMO, he’s the guy that was gifted a decision v. Matthysse and i believe that You share the same opinion. Matthysse v. Alexander is also one of the reasons i’ve come to consider official scorecards as suspect. whether they agree with me or not. Bradley does have great grit and determination propelled by extraordinary conditioning and better-than-average boxing skills BUT he’s small, doesn’t hit hard, and just survived a train-wreck v. Provodnikov. Marquez’s timing couldn’t be better. we both Know what will be the result of Bradley trying to swarm Marquez (Marquez v. Diaz) and i’m confident of what the results of a boxing-punching duel will be (Marquez v. Pacquiao* III). that is correct. i anticipate that Marquez will be robbed on the scorecards if he doesn’t get to Bradley’s recently-dented chin.

Tumbo… Bradley is 29-0 and the only guy to stop Alexander, who went the distance with Matthysse.. He’s not a big puncher but he dominates his opponents.. Provodnikov fought him the closest of anyone — two judges had it 114-113 for Bradley.. Against Bradley-Pacquiao 2 judges had it for Bradley 115-113 … If it wasn’t for the referee missing a knockdown the Tim-Ruslan fight would have been a draw.

He shouldn’t hold his breath.

taking flush-shots from Bradley, which Ruslan did with regularity, reveals nothing about the durability of Provodnikov’s chin. Bradley is a featherpunching fighter whose grit and determination have been the main reason for him pulling out wins in very close and desperate contests. otherwise, the jury is still out on just how much punishment Provodnikov can take. i would not doubt the ability of Guerrero, Ortiz, Berto, Matthysse, Garcia, or even Judah from planting Provodnikov on the seat of his trunks or even turning his lights out for good in a bout. bottomline, surviving Bradley means little.

Posted May 30, 2013 10:15 am

Mayweather jr is not going to fight Ruslan because he will look for a weaker fight to take. Canelo is a bum if u ask me, he want to fight all the lightwelterweight and Welterweight at 140 and 147 and he’s coming in the fight 30 lbs heavier than his opponent. Canelo should be fighting Vanes or Lara next period and Mayweather jr need to fight Ruslan at 147 period. Make this happen promoters, this is what the hardcore boxing fans wants. No mismatch we want to see great fights plz.
Mayweather jr vs Ruslan
Canelo vs Vanes
Lara vs Ishe
Trout vs K-9

Ruslan can be beat with body shots. Bradley was hurting him to the body

Posted May 30, 2013 2:36 am

Hecdog…. You said Guerrero would beat Mayweather. Not only beat him but stop him. You’re overrating Guerrero.. Provodnikov would hit Guerrero so hard it would wake up his great grandmother.. Did you see the kind of shape Tim Bradley was in after their fight??? Nobody every did anything like that to Bradley.. This provodnikov is a puncher.

Posted May 30, 2013 1:22 am

Guerrero would KO Ruslan hands down no questions asked. He may have been a bit off vs Mayweather, but he would hit Ruslan with his eyes closed. I would bet everything I own that fight. Guerrero with a mid to late round stoppage. That also goes for Braley or Marquez should they ever fight Guerrero. I guarantee those wins. Guerrero has the style to beat those three guys. Trust me.

Posted May 30, 2013 12:45 am

look forward to see Ruslan box again. he should stay at 140, though a rematch with Bradley would be great$$

Posted May 29, 2013 11:52 pm

Like Floyd’s really going to fight a Russian guy on Mexican independence day.

Posted May 29, 2013 10:26 pm

Ben Hill

Russian provocation by Ruslan Provodnikov?

Posted May 29, 2013 10:07 pm

Everybody talking about Guerrero and May fighting Provodnikov, read a little closer and RP mentioned Matthyse. That would be a war of wars, not only FOTY but perhaps FOTD. I can only dream of a fight like this.

Posted May 29, 2013 9:48 pm

I too believe Provodnikov beats Guerrero somewhat easily and by KO. Guerrero has built a reputation as a rough physical fighter off of one fight which was the Berto fight; however, he was never a rough physical fighter up until that fight. I was actually stunned that Berto allowed him to bully him around the way he did, but Berto’s stamina issues, along with the referee were the main contributing factors for Guerrero’s success in that fight strategy. Provodnikov will welcome that strategy and mow straight thru The Ghost.

Posted May 29, 2013 9:37 pm

I see Provodnikov stopping Guerrero… Guerrero can’t punch but he’s super easy to hit. He’s actually much easier to hit than Bradley who also has a very tough chin, just like Guerrero has.. Provodnikov is easy to hit as well but he can absorb everything Guerrero throws… Therefore they hit each other a a ton and Provodnikov’s better hand speed and leather popping combintions on the inside have much greater effect — knocking the Ghost into the spirit world.

Posted May 29, 2013 9:25 pm

People underestimate gueerero cause he has a piss poor stoppage rate, mostly fought at lightweigh, b/w his featherfist and being super slow and loosing to diaz and salido people are pretty spot on saying guerrero is nothing and will be nothing at 147. Also guerero has to be flat footed and set to throw a punch. Correctemundo grossly overestimates gueerero and I’m sure he’s in nobodies p4p ranking as I predicted. I’M TE GREATEST PROPHET IN THE WORLD!!!!

Posted May 29, 2013 9:05 pm

Bradley came out Fighting one dimensionally vs. Provodnikov to appease the Fans. Once he began getting his block knocked OFF he changed UP, started Boxing, and WON the majority of the Rounds. IF he comes out and Boxes from the get go next time he’ll WIN by LOPSIDED UD.

Posted May 29, 2013 9:04 pm

Guerrero can beat Khan TOO. People underestimate him now because he struck OUT vs. a Defensive MAESTRO. But there’s not very many Defensive MAESTROS out there plus he has a GOOD chin SO he’s ready to rumble. Ruslan and Khan need more versatility to their game to beat Guerrero. He was #8 P4P. Khan and Provodnikov have always been #0’s.

Posted May 29, 2013 8:59 pm

I wouldn’t call ortiz vs floyd a fight

Posted May 29, 2013 8:59 pm

CORRECTION…..That’s BAD BAD news vs. Floyd….

Posted May 29, 2013 8:53 pm

Does Ruslan even have a Jab???? I don’t remember seeing it SO it was either NON existant or ineffective. That’s BAD BAD news vs. Provodnikov. Another Victor Ortiz Fight. Either quit early or take a TERRIBLE beating.

Posted May 29, 2013 8:52 pm

If mayweather fights Probidnikov, he actually get charged with attempted murder

Posted May 29, 2013 8:47 pm

Take the LOSER all you want. I like to take the WINNER. Provodnikov is less VERSATILE than Guerrero. Therefore he will find a way to hand Ruslan the L. Guerrero is a very DIRTY Fighter. IF you’re not well versed in Roughhouse DIRTY tactics you’re probably going to get taken to SCHOOL…. Especially when you’re the LESSER SKILLED Fighter. Guerrero by comfortable Decision.

Posted May 29, 2013 8:46 pm

Will be a joke if this happens. If Bradley didn’t stop to exchange, he would have won a shutout. In the middle rounds, Provodnikov looked like a plodding idiot. Of course, maybe Floyd would also stop and exchange…right????

Posted May 29, 2013 8:27 pm

The weight differential is only for the weigh-in… You can weigh whatever going into the ring unless you have a specific clause in your contract that limits how much you may rehydrate — that is, how much you can weigh going into the ring.

Posted May 29, 2013 8:03 pm

Provodnikov beat Bradley on my card.. It was real close, and I gave Ruslan 2 knockdowns.. Tim might be in trouble with Marquez, but I think he’ll skate through with another really close verdict.. Tim is a winner. The man never gives up and fights his living ass off every fight … He’s a fighter’s fighter. Plus he likes everybody.

Posted May 29, 2013 7:59 pm

Floyd is not very successful fighting at that weight. Yes he was successful but he got hit more because he is not as fast and also can tire more because of the extra weight. Though its not that much more weight. I personally think he will fight Canelo and probably with no concessions. But doesn’t the WBC crooks only allow a 10lb weight differential or is that only in some states?

Posted May 29, 2013 7:55 pm

I think prov deserved the win against bradly too. Ref missed knock downs. And that knock down into a reverse face plant. PRICELESS……… bradley was severly concussed. It was a miracle he made it through. Tough nut right there I wil give him that. But I thought bradley lost

Posted May 29, 2013 7:25 pm

I would take provodnikov to beat guerrero personally. I don’t thin feather fisted 40% stoppage rate will do much of anything at 147

Posted May 29, 2013 7:21 pm

If they fight ya think floyd will run all night? Provodnikov has some mustard in his punches. floyd feels that or is scared of it he may run all night

Posted May 29, 2013 7:19 pm

Mayweather won 2 World Championships at 154. Floyd ripped those World Titles from Oscar De La Hoya and Miguel Cotto — two ATG fighters who won 13 World Championships between them… It is extemely obvious Floyd is very successful fighting at 154. If he doesn’t fight Canelo at that weight, and force some concessions on Canelo regarding rehydration, the fight has ZERO chance of happening … But of course that’s what Floyd wants. Just another fighter protecting his “0” at all costs.

Posted May 29, 2013 7:04 pm

The Judge

I like it, I just would like to see Floyd eat a right hand to the face.. You know the kind right? The kind they like to show in slow motion. i say make the fight. Better then anyone else he’s gonna get in with right now. If not Matthysse.

Posted May 29, 2013 6:08 pm

Brazilian Boxing Fan

I believe Pacquiao and Provodnikov deserved the decision against Bradley.

Posted May 29, 2013 6:06 pm

As a WW Guerrero is a MAULER and a SMOTHERER. Provodnikov’s trainer is Khan’s old trainer Freddie Roach…..He doesn’t teach anyone how to clinch or defend. Robert would smother him nullifying his wide punches and rabbit punch the HECK out of him. Guerrero WINS by Decision.

Posted May 29, 2013 5:50 pm

“But behind the scenes he read Boxtradamus’ advice” there you go lying again. Your speciality.

Posted May 29, 2013 5:43 pm

IF Bradley fought the same style vs. Guerrero that he DID vs. Provodnikov he would LOSE by Razor THIN Decision. He’d get mauled and smothered just like Berto. WHY do you think Floyd didn’t DO it?????

Posted May 29, 2013 5:42 pm

Arum tried to convince Rigo to Fight Rock em Sock em style vs. Donaire TOO but Rigo was too SMART for that. Publicly he recited the script: “Uhhm YES. I’m going to stand my ground and let MY hands go ALOT.”…But behind the scenes he read Boxtradamus’ advice and chose to go with the Defensively styled Boxing and WON…..Arum was disgusted after the Fight because he was tricked…..Arum bad mouthed the WIN saying that… “it wasn’t very appealing and now I don’t know how to SELL him”… because he has no idea of how to SELL a GREAT Defensive Fighter……Maybe he should ask Mayweather for some ADVICE.

Posted May 29, 2013 5:37 pm

lol surprised your not in church with Roberto. im sorry man couldn’t resist I know I’m taking a cheapshot

Posted May 29, 2013 5:36 pm

The biggest waste of a fight ever if this fight happens. Really? Mayweather keeps stooping down lower and lower if he makes this fight, which he would win with one arm, blind and half asleep.

Posted May 29, 2013 5:33 pm

Provodnikov is LESSER than Guerrero. Let him prove that he’s BETTER than Guerrero. Provodnikov vs. Guerrero is the more competitive Fight though I can’t FAULT Ruslan for wanting to Fight the BEST….not to mention get PAID the BEST.

Posted May 29, 2013 5:22 pm

Proud African

Poor, poor, Provodnikov. Mayweather will slap him silly.

Posted May 29, 2013 5:17 pm

Done deal

Only fighter that stands more than a punchers chance against PBF is Canelo. Thus Russian guy, Bradley, Alexander, Khan, All light work and easy pay days. PAC would exciting, but I think his style would get him knocked out vs. Floyd. Floyd ain’t no Marquez. He is much better in every aspect of Boxing. Canelo or bore fest.

Posted May 29, 2013 5:14 pm

Rigo has a better chance than Provodnikov TOO. He’s the only guy out there who has a chance to WIN on points…. May be TOO QUICK for Floyd…. Floyd facing Rigo is the same as Canelo facing Floyd. Actually Rigo has a better chance of beating Floyd than ANYONE but the Fight won’t sell and won’t be very entertaining IF you like to see a lot of Punches get landed…..Casual Fans and AMATEURS would call it a mismatch like they thought De la Hoya vs. Pacquiao was a mismatch in De la Hoya’s favor… DUMMIES.

Posted May 29, 2013 5:13 pm

….And Pacquiao who tried to go Rock em Sock em Style vs. the more POWERFUL version of Marquez will agree with HIM on that.

Posted May 29, 2013 5:09 pm

“Floyd has to have impossible luck to finish his 6-fight contract undefeated at his age” not if he continues to cherry pick “Guerreros” for his next five fights. Floyd will never face Provodnikov. He’s too strong too resilient too hungry. Cotto knocked Floyd into going back to his safe fighting tactics. Floyd will pick the easiest road to fulfill his six fight contract. Wait and see.

Posted May 29, 2013 5:08 pm

Would actually like to see this fight. Would be fairly action filled. Not counting on Saul “cameltoe” Alvarez galling since alverez things he can dictate terms, he obviously does not want the fight that bad, kinda don’t blame him since he would get the loss, still to young to finish his career and has lots of big pay days in the years to come. But don’t try and dictate the terms when you have not even had your own big ppv or major headline card. Expecting mayweather to fight at 154 is absurd. Mayweather is the man, and the man makes the rules. It’s like wladimir making all the concession against povetkin or haye, not going to happen fool.

Posted May 29, 2013 5:05 pm

That’s because Bradley chose to Fight Rock em Sock em Robot style because his Defensive styled WIN vs. Pacquiao actually made his stock drop. Arum suggested to HIM to Fight in a more entertaining style and it WORKED. But IF he Fights that style vs. Marquez he’ll be stopped. And after the Fight he’ll be saying. “WOW. That’s the first time I’ve ever been stopped. Marquez is MUCH BETTER than Provodnikov”

Posted May 29, 2013 5:05 pm

Yup… Much better chance than Marquez.. More youth, strength, power, toughness, and recklessness.. NO previous opponent ever put bombs, the like of which Provodnikov caught Bradley with, on Tim at any time — and Marquez won’t be able to do that either. Pac sure didn’t do that.

Smiling Tim.., “Yup.. That’s the hardest I’ve ever been hit. I think he can beat anyone at 147.”

Posted May 29, 2013 4:59 pm

YUP….. Lara has a BETTER chance than Provodnikov. He was SPANKING Martirosyan who is BETTER than Provodnikov TOO. They’re more SKILLED. Provodnikov is a Rock em Sock em Robot. Those type Fighters have NO shot at beating a 36 yr old Mayweather. Maybe a 55 yr old Mayweather…. Provodnikov has a BETTER chance than Marquez???? LMFAO. Such FOOLISHNESS has to be taken as a JOKE.

Posted May 29, 2013 4:38 pm

Floyd isn’t that big a puncher… a determined bomber like Rios or Provodnikov would have a fair chance of getting some threatening licks on him, like Mosley did.. However, Mosley followed up his advantage like he had a cork up his rear end. Matthysse or Broner would have a much better chance because they’re more skilled and very cool heads.. Their brains are working in there as hard as Floyd’s … The best chance would be Canelo because of his all-around boxing and punching skills.. The kid sets everything up. He won’t chase Floyd—but at any moment he could ram a jab or straight right up Floyd’s nose. Canelo has better punching range with both hands than any previous Floyd opponent. He punches harder and smoother and defends better because his footwork is precise. He doesn’t dance, do the 3-step, or do any footwork without purpose. He doesn’t waste energy or fall for feints. His stance is very stable, and that’s something that surprised Trout when he tried to take the offensive. It didn’t work like it did with Cotto … AT couldn’t land a damaging blow.

Posted May 29, 2013 4:32 pm

i think erislandy lara would have a good shot at mugging mayweather.

Posted May 29, 2013 4:17 pm

Mayweather wouldn’t get within 100 Miles of Provodnikov .

Posted May 29, 2013 4:16 pm

te tumbo

i saw nothing in the Bradley bout that would lead me to believe that a fighter as raw as Provodnikov could even come close to defeating Mayweather. Floyd is not only a naturally stronger puncher than Bradley, his speed, accuracy, and form make him a legitimate KD puncher who can execute On-Demand. i anticipate that Provodnikov would be a staggering mess by the 8th round. welter opponents and fight-fans alike underestimate Mayweather’s offense at their own peril. he’s a stinging, stunning, and punishing puncher v. fighters his own size and smaller. even bigger fighters aren’t able to avoid collecting lumpy and bumpy mementos of Floyd’s handiwork. Matthysse and Broner are the only opponents Floyd’s size who have a legitimate shot at upsetting Mayweather. i would still favor Floyd over Alvarez as well just not by as much. nonetheless and IMO, Mayweather dominates every potential opponent his size.

Posted May 29, 2013 3:49 pm

I saw this man ruslan fight bradley and i felt he won the fight ! another rip off ???????????????????? mayweather what can use boxing fan’s really say ?????????????????

Posted May 29, 2013 2:34 pm

The best chances of beating Mayweather belong to the following:

1 Alvarez, 2 Matthysse, 3 Broner, 4 Trout, 5 Garcia, 6 Provodnikov, 7 Rios, 8 Pacquiao, 9 Brook, and 10 Cotto … The first five guys have a fair chance… Things could turn their way against an aging Floyd if they have a great night. They all would command super high level training camps, because they bear down something fierce when an opportunity like this is presented. I have Provodnikov ranked so high because of his willingness to absorb punches so he can deliver a bomb. That makes him extremely dangerous. Bradley has no shot to beat Floyd so he’s not on the list—same with Marquez.

Rankings 6 to 10 are long shots … but I buy lottery tickets, just in case I get lucky, like Rahman did against Lewis—and I buy house, auto, health, and life insurance, just in case my luck goes the other way. Floyd has to have impossible luck to finish his 6-fight contract undefeated at his age—and facing the unprecedented talent in the top 5—but I’m pulling for him.

Posted May 29, 2013 2:32 pm

Tomato Can

He’ll have a better shot of getting this fight than Bradley, cause Bradley’s an Arum fighter, which is the reason I think this fight may end up coming off.

Posted May 29, 2013 2:20 pm

Tomato Can

People put Mayweather on too high of a pedestool cause he’s p4p number 1. Provodnikov is coming of a great fight with a top fighter in the sport. He deserves to fight anyone at this point, including Mayweather. He would enter a Mayweather fight, just like he will enter any other fight, he’ll have a punchers chance.

Posted May 29, 2013 2:19 pm

I wouldn’t mind this fight if he had beaten Nradley. But since he didn’t I don’t see him getting this fight

Posted May 29, 2013 2:18 pm

Canelo is the fight Mayweather should have…not this mismatch…

Posted May 29, 2013 1:37 pm

Prof Konje

It would be a good fight, but I don’t know how he even thinks that he’s close to a fight with Mayweather. I would like to see Provodnikov fight other boxers in his weight class. Let’s face it, Mayweather has his choice of opponents and I’m sure he’ll choose someone who could pump up PPV sales.

Posted May 29, 2013 1:36 pm

While I like Provodnikov, he is too slow to trouble Mayweather. The only kind of fighter with a chance against Floyd is a guy with a good jab and one punch knockout power. Someone like a Hearns or Leonard back in the day. Mathysse has the power, but not the polish.
Kell Brook looked good on the way up, but seems to have gone off the boil. I think even Berto vs Mayweather would be a better action fight than Floyd vs Provodnikov.

Posted May 29, 2013 1:27 pm

“Ruslan Provodnikov Expects a Beating” He’d be better off facing his heavyweight “White Tyson” namesake.

Posted May 29, 2013 1:20 pm

Enough with Amir Khan… just another UK Zab Judah version. Mayweather would KO Khan easily.

Posted May 29, 2013 1:19 pm

i don’t think khans religion allows him to be able to fight on september is what i was reading somewhere but i’m not certain ..floyd will never ever be able to fight one of bob arum fighters ever so bradley and pac are out of the equation…..yezzir!

Posted May 29, 2013 1:17 pm

khan cant beat floyd!

Posted May 29, 2013 1:15 pm

Alexander v Mayweather, I can’t think of a more boring fight.Amir Khan should get the chance, I think he could beat Mayweather with his style.

Posted May 29, 2013 1:10 pm

Love Provo, but this a huge joke if he gets the fight at this stage of his career. I thought he was huge risk (at least risk vs reward) for Bradley, but Bradley got ripped for fighting him. How could Showtime possibly agree to this fight? People really got to stop buying these fights. Very simple: Canelo clearly best fight to be made. If not i’d at least accept Devon Alexander, Amir Khan (just think he matches up well) or Tim Bradley. Dont think any of them would win, but it would at least be competitive.

Posted May 29, 2013 1:05 pm

canelo, pac, prov, all are good fights! even alexander would be a good fight!

Posted May 29, 2013 1:02 pm

Besides Pacquiao and Ruslan, how many other guys has Mayweather, the duckmaster, been ducking?

Posted May 29, 2013 1:00 pm

That’s a joke.

Posted May 29, 2013 12:48 pm

Hope this guy STFU or els floyd will take him up on it for another easy nights work for himself and another boring night for the fans.

Provo has no shot. Couldn’t stop Bradley. Won’t stop Mayweather. And he SURE can’t out box him.
