Bernards days as a boxer would have ended 10 years ago if he was a clean fighter but you can’t blame a guy for prolonging his career with HGH and roids

Regarding B-Hop to Ward, I pulled this off thesweetscience, for what its worth:

“And what about a tussle between Hopkins (56-3-2) and the 29-year-old super middleweight ace, Ward? Hopkins said after the Cloud win that ten million wouldn’t be enough to get him into the ring against Ward, but Ward more than left the door ajar to the meetup. He said that he’s proved a lot, and wants to conquer new frontiers. That means pay-per-view, among other things, and Ward told me that he thinks a PPV against Hopkins is a most sellable package.”

Hopkins wanted it to look like he was calling out Ward just like he wanted his shoulder to look injured against Bad Chad when it apparently wasn’t. Many people will cheat, lie, cherry pick, act religious, act evil, etc.. in order to fool the public, especially when it comes to increasing fortune and fame.

Stupid loser – the whole exchange was strange. I still don’t know why Hops would yell at a guy and say he wouldn’t fight him. That the most un-Hopkins-like antic I can imagine. But no doubt Ward is a bad choice. Ward has faster hands, and Hopkins struggles with, and usually loses to fighters with faster hands.

Exiled Yank, you are right, Ward would be a real bad choice for Hopkins. And I do not believe B-Hop was calling out Ward.

Hopkins Froch/Bute will both be good fights. I’d be happy with either one, especially Froch. The man has not got an ounce of give up in him. It will be a real battle of wills. I give it to Hops, but Froch will be in his ass all night.

terror tim – Ward is all wrong for B-Hop. Ward has reminded me of Hops for his last several fights and I don’t think Hop can get in his head an rattle him. Ward is too smart, too talented, too tough, and too young for Hopkins at this point. If it happens, I give huge props to the old man, but they need to leave Ward alone. Ward has potential to be a great. Time will tell.

I’d love to see Froch vs Hopkins. Or Bute vs Hopkins. Both would be interesting match-ups/fights.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Hopkins against the winner of Froch/Kessler, other than that I don’t care to see Bernard in the ring against anybody else.

Next up, IBF world light heavyweight champion Bernard “The Executioner” Hopkins vs. Roy Jones Jr III “The Final Showdown”. Then mabey its a world title unification with the IBF/WBO world light heavyweight fight Bernard Hopkins vs. Nathan Cleverly. If Nathan Cleverly is out, then Hopkins should fight last era rival James “Lights-Out” Toney at cruiserweight (if Toney can make it) Fighters like Gabriel Campillo, Sergey Kovalev, Karo Murat etc are of no interest and will have to wait for there turn after Hopkins leaves the boxing world.

I would think a fight with Froch would make some sense for Hopkins. Do it over in England and the fight could fill an arena. I would like to see him fight Kovalev who really should have the IBF belt Hopkins just won in reality since Kovalev just crushed Campillo who beat Cloud just as bad as Hopkins did. I would like to see any of the top 175lb guys fight Kovalev.

Exiled Yank, I thought the same thing. I thought I heard him say he would love to fight Ward and would do it for less money. Wouldn’t make sense to win, walk over to a guy and say you don’t want the fight. I would rather not see it however.

Yes Bernard Hopkins is the champ again and no Andre Ward will have to look for some one in his own class to fight. Hopkins is the best fighter in the world

Despite what the HBO announcers claim, I swear it sounded like he called Ward out after the fight. Why on earth would a fighter yell at another fighter and say there’s no money that could make him take the fight? Hopkins is too proud for that crap and Lampley is too full of it. It sounded to me that he said he wants the fight.

Truly a legend. He has certain styles that give him problems, but power punchers always lose. Props to the boxing legend that keeps on winning!
