Jr wins

At the time Martinez fought Williams and Pavilk, both were considered “A-level” fighters. Williams = was the “most avoided fighter” and Pavlik despite his loss at 170 pounds to future HOFer Hopkins was still the man at 160.

who are the A-level fighters that Martinez has defeated? Pavlik wasn’t A-level. neither was Cintron or Williams. in fact, i would favor Jr. v. any of these guys. Martinez deserves credit for being the best middleweight in an average division. otherwise, there are no Monzons, Haglers, or Hopkins to deal with. in terms of competition, i confidently anticipate that Chavez Jr. will provide At-Least as much comp as any of Martinez’s previous opponents.

Faceoff was great…The tension between both fighters transcended through the TV. You could feel the animosity, The dark room with the small table and the chairs turned was the right setting. As for the remarks between both fighters Sergio is the more intelligent, all Chavez could say over and over was that he was going to prove himself in the ring. Sergio told him he was going to give him a “palisa”. A pala is a shovel a palisa is metaphorically to beat you down with a shovel. It was intense

I just watched the face off on youtube. You just have to love Martinez telling it like it is. He basically said everything to Chavez’s face that people have been saying in the forums minus the doping issue. My favorite part was when kellerman was trying to imply that chavez has beaten A level fighters and Martinez point blank asks Kellerman ” Which A level fighter has he beaten?”.

Me and my son were having a ball when Chavez Jr. called Sergio Bailarina because he thinks he fights like one and he dances in dance program..Lol! Maravilla, Bailarina even made Martinez chuckle himself..

Will Chavez Jr avoid another P test for this fight ? Bet he gets away with not providing it (again).

Weeks is a good ref but he needs to lay off the spanish so much when the fighters touch gloves. Its obvious he cant speak a word besides listo. Refs I like are Smoger by far, Nady and anyone except Cortez

Yeah face-off was fun to watch, they set that one up really nice for the fans who are rooting for or against each fighter..24/7 should be a good one as well with Chavez Sr. in the mix putting his two cents in on the drama, can’t wait..War Chavez!

Why on f earth is there not a ‘uniform’ ring size in boxing, at least by division? The fact that Junior can use his $$/fame to dictate the size of a ring is as corrupt as his not having to take a p test after the fight.
