“How many years ago did boxing change from 15 rounds to 12 rounds?” HIDALGO, just yesterday to those of us who grew up on Sanchez, Leonard, Duran, Hearns, Holmes, Hagler, and Jorge Paez v. Calvin Grove in Mexicali, MX. including those of us who watched the Mancini v. Kim tragedy unfold in real time. we still lament the demise of the 15 rounders and feel their absence in fights like Martinez v. Junior. now dry your ears and blow your nose while i take a moment to reflect . . .

“otherwise, 13 and 14 and 15 would’ve been all Junior needed to pull off the biggest upset of 2012.” WTF are you talking about? How many years ago did boxing change from 15 rounds to 12 rounds? 20 years? Besides that, Martinez fought his way through the 12th round. Remember? Really te tumbo, you’ll dig up anything to make excuses or in attempt to make yourself right. Tark hit the nail on the head. You? You missed the entire bloody side of the barn.

“Te Tumbo sez….,” a couple of CHAMPIONship rounds short. don’t get it twisted TARK. Junior was never going to win on the scorecards v. a P4Pr like Martinez. unfortunately, 11 and 12 are now the final rounds. otherwise, 13 and 14 and 15 would’ve been all Junior needed to pull off the biggest upset of 2012. after all, even a fatigued and battered Junior was able to connect once he applied the pipe-busting pressure that had Martinez bleeding and busted-up in the final round.

Tomato Can

SM will have a hard time coming back from this injury. In fact I’m writing him off now. He’s too old to comeback from this.

Te Tumbo sez…., “Chavez came up a couple of rounds short.” …. A couple??? How about five (5)??? In a 12 round fight you need 7 rounds unless you score a knockdown.. Chavez had one knockdown awarded to him so he needed 5 more rounds — not a couple. It was a dominant victory for a guy who’s 37 and naturally a jr. middleweight … I’d love to see Sergio offer Kid Chocolate the next shot — since 3G is going after Ward at 168.

My best to the great Champion, Maravilla! You are a shining example of all sports, you never ever gave up in the face of unbelievable adversity.

Martinez will be up and working in no time flat. He’s a dedicated boxer and the victories have shown for everyone to see. Too bad for the haters who will have to digest another piece of good news for Martinez in their bellies full of hatred.

Martinez will never be the same fighter after his knee and ankle injury and resulting surgery. Never. What he will be remains to be seen.

So, is it true if Chavez won’t face him Argentina, DiBella is looking at Murray?
