He is gonna dance his way to an easy victory. He made the 1st fight competitive by standing in front of Maidana, an even dared to trade with him. Don’t by this fight. –Floyd is rich due to fans of the sport who have forked over their hard earned money to see non-sense fights. Used to be, we’d get value for our money with fights like SRL v Hagler, Hearns, Hearns V Hagler, Barrera v Morales and countless others, but it’s not that way any more. Today, smoke and mirrors are used to claim supremancy or greatness without actually putting in the work to fight and beat elite fighters in their prime. So, yes, the nig is rich, but we fans made him rich and we fans gave him the life style he enjoys and his children enjoy. Without us, he ain’t $hit!!Posted July 3, 2014 12:44 pm
Excuse me. Mayweather specializes in forearms to the neck and face. He does it in every single fight.Posted July 2, 2014 10:25 pm
‘I still don’t understand how Maidana won a fight, head butting, hitting behind the head, Hitting below the belt 3-4 times, tried to knee Floyd in the groin, and landed less punches.’
How many fouls were called on Maidana? None. How many points was Maidana penalized? None. He did not make a habit of headbutting. That’s BS. As for his low blows and supposed kneeing, try to remember that Mayweather has cheated in every single fight he’s been in since he’s been a welterweight. The guy specializes in forearms and elbows to the face. The ref was lenient with both of them. That’s fair.Posted July 2, 2014 10:24 pm

Our boxing fans really this ignorant? If so then boxing might as well become part of the WWE body were the outcome is already pre-determined…a very very sad state this sport is at (where some not all boxing fans) are aligned with the powers that B that control this ungoverned sport who keep throwing these fighters against Mayweather or any cash cow fighter they may have in there stable against inferior fighters who have no chance of winning…(much respect to Carnello by the way for taking the fight against Lara)the only ones that keep winning our these corrupt promoters…Guess who the real losers are in this game people? That’s right the ones who keep paying for these mismatch fights that these so called match makers know you are going to keep ridiculously paying for…ITS YOU THE FANS THAT ARE THE BIGGEST LOSERS IN THIS SHAMEFUL PRACTICE of a GAME…I for one will not pay a penny for this fight and I’m a Mayweather supporter but not for this fight or any other one like this….Go ahead and be pimped if you want too people but I ain’t buying it and may not even watch it the following week on showtime…Time for the real fighters to fight one another like they did back in the day or I will boycott all of these WWE MATCHES that are not worth my time or money(throw your money away if you want too)…WAKE UP MY PEOPLE and SUPPORT THE BEST FIGHTERS (not only because you share the same heritage) and DEFINITELY NOT anyu THESE SORRY PROMOTERS, HBO and SHOWTIME, WHO are RUINING THE SPORT OF BOXING and PIMPING YOU IN THE PROCESS !!!Posted July 2, 2014 3:02 pm

Slim, you are wasting your time discussing business and economics with some of these folks… They think anybody they have a hard on for will simply just do… Reality is that Thurman, Porter, Brook and Lara bring NOTHING to the table in the way of PPV clout or a measurable fanbase…. Wins over Senchenko, Malignaggi with 7 losses, and Soto Karass don’t make them MUST fight opponents… If they are the “Truth” they will generate true starmaking performances that put them on the publics radar…Posted July 2, 2014 12:56 pm
Floyd is going to listen to his “Genius financial advisors” on who to fight based on PPV buys. $200M Showtime deal he can’t fight people like Brook, Thurman, Porter people NOBODY really knows. If you guys don’t like the fight then don’t watch it. He’s not gonna listen to bunch people waisting time on ESB! He gonna listen to his financial advisors. Like Al Haymon and R. Tark, you say “the public was fooled by Canelo” YOU were one of Alvarez FOREMOST advocates and why are you writing off this fighter because he got outboxed by Floyd Mayweather? Would you say the same if Pacquiao got drubbed by Mayweather? Canelo sure as hell did better than Marquez should we deny JMM entry to the HOF because Floyd beat him? You act like Mayweather is Demarcus Corley or some such nonsense….”The public was fooled” but Porter is the real deal??? REALLY so we are burying Canelo and saying Porter is a BETTER fighter when Canelos crime is getting outboxed by one of the best in history??Posted July 2, 2014 12:24 pm
It’s the same old same old…Mayweather will completely dominate this fight like he did Carnello by out slicking Maidana this time around, the only chance he has is if Mayweathers legs are shot? Tired of the same ol same ol guys fighting Mayweather, their always these same slow plodders with no real speed or talent to be in the ring with Money and you fools keep dishing out your dough to watch these mismatch clinics that Money puts on these talent challenge opponents …smdh….When are some of you people gonna wake up and stop paying for these ppv mismatchs that Mayweather will never lose? All of these so called top fighters with multiple loses on their records that you feel are worthy of fighting Mayweather will never beat him…Here are some of the real fighters that Mayweather has yet to face and who have a legitimate shot at beating him and in due time will beat all of the so called top guys that you all think are capable of beating Money Mayweather..They all have the athletic ability and agility with speed and heart to match up well against Mayweather…1)The tall, fast and ultra talented soutpaw Demetrius Andrade whom to me is the creme of the crop…2)the slick and talented Cuban Erislandy Lara who is gonna school Carnello on the 12th by the way…the very tough and rugged Shawn Porter who dominated Alexander, yes the same Alexander who dominated and schooled the guy most of you feel is worthy to fight Mayweather again the incomparable Maidana in their fight…4) The powerful and talented One Time Keith Thurman…All of these guys are undefeated and very confident fighters (don’t give me that horribly judged Paul Williams fight that Lara had go against him) as well as supremely talented young fighters who can challenge Floyd like he has never been before…Their all young gifted athletic fighters whom are going to dominate the sport of boxing for some time and in due time will beat all of these imposters (opponents) whom some of you feel are the best top guys..lol..in due time my point will be proven to all you doubters and straight up haters because these young bucks are the Creme Dela Creme whom will prove the SHACKMAN RIGHT!!!Posted July 2, 2014 10:26 am
Easier fight this time for Floyd this time with Maidana not being allowed to foul as much as last time.Posted July 2, 2014 9:25 am
What a fraud Mayweather is. He paid Maidana $1.5 M not to wear a pair of gloves that had been approved by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
Maidana wanted to wear a pair or gloves that had been approved by the Nevada State Athletic Commission but Mayweather objected. The gloves were considered better gloves for a puncher and Maidana is known for his power. So the sides made a deal for Maidana to change gloves the day before the fight.
Although neither side would disclose the terms of the deal — or even admit that there was one — sources with knowledge of the situation told ESPN dot com that Mayweather agreed to pay Maidana an additional $1.5 million to change gloves. That doubled Maidana’s official purse, which was $1.5 million on his Nevada contract. However, sources told ESPN dot com that Maidana was guaranteed $4.2 million and wound up earning at least $5.7 million, including the payment for the gloves change.Posted July 2, 2014 9:12 am
Love-the-sport.., You’re a complete IDIOT with no imagination.
I said Floyd-Canelo would break all records for PPV revenues months before it happened… Everyone on here was laughing at that.
People show up for a fight when there’s a great opponent.. In Canelo’s case when they think there’s a great opponent.. The public was fooled in that fight.
But Porter is the real deal… He’s a World Champion and could be hyped and sold VERY well off the fact that he beat Alexander — who comprehensively beat Maidana… And the fact that Shawn smashed Paulie Malignaggi, who was coming off a good win over Zab Judah and a SD loss to Adrien Broner..
Nobody else battered, smashed, and completely obliterated Paulie Malignaggi like that — Shawn Porter is coming on like gangbusters.Posted July 2, 2014 8:57 am
This is a continuing saga of Mayweather’s strategy of fighting low level plodders to preserve his fake undefeated record.
Yet, he performs so poorly against poor opposition. His second iteration in September will not be different. He will be punished from pillar to post by Maidana the Great PlodderPosted July 2, 2014 4:07 am
Yeah he is dirty ass fighter…Tough and ruff but dirty as they get. Floyd surprisingly said he respected all that crap Marcos was doing because he was doing everything to try and win. He blamed Tony Weeks ass for not doing sht about it.Posted July 2, 2014 1:15 am
Miadana was a better choice than Kahn. He was more game than about anyone he has fought. He is one dirty SOB but again this fight will sell because of the last one.Posted July 1, 2014 10:35 pm
Porter has a mandatory coming up so Porter is no discussion at the current time. I remember when Tark said Floyd wouldn’t fight Maidana. He said it after Maidana beat Broner. Said Broner had balls and Floyd didn’t because he fought Maidana and Floyd would never fight him. But when he does Tark comes out with other excuses.Posted July 1, 2014 8:12 pm
One way to get the PPV numbers higher and the overall fight interest would be to fight in New York City.
Madison Square Garden … or the Barclay Center.
It would be a great event in New York. It would attract a lot of media. The press tour would focus on venues throughout New York City.
I don’t think Floyd has fought in New York City before.Posted July 1, 2014 6:26 pm
Maidana exposed Floyd to the fullest. Every round that Maidana closed the distance and fought inside, he won. In the later rounds when he got tired, he wasn’t able to close the distance and fight inside. That’s when Mayweather was able to win rounds. I truly believe that if Maidana would of fought with gloves, he would of hurt Floyd. That said; Maidana needs to go to Floyds body more often than in the 1st fight and that would pay off in the later rounds with Floyd dropping his guard and not jumping around or running around…Posted July 1, 2014 5:35 pm
In the post fight conference, Floyd was asked why he didn’t want to fight Maidana with the gloves that he accepted in the contract. Floyd said that he wanted to enjoy his later years. That he wanted to be able to speak and he didn’t wanted to look like Ali. Two points I want to make. 1..why didn’t he adress that in the contract and not hours before the fight?? Well, he knew that Maidana wasn’t going to back up, on the biggest pay of he’s career. 2…If hes to concern about his future health…Why is he still boxing? Why not box all gear up and protected like Olympic boxers?….Boxing needs to evolve..needs to change…only 1 size of ring…only 1 type of gloves…no catch weight…limit weight on the night if the fight…and only 1 world champ in every weight…thank you and have a good day..Posted July 1, 2014 5:22 pm
If Mayweather’s legs aren’t shot he wins. If they are, Maidana wins.Posted July 1, 2014 5:09 pm

Chip Mitchell sounds like Mayweather’s front man… He’s Mayweather’s apologist.
He’s saying Shawn Porter’s victories over Devon Alexander and Paulie Malignaggi mean ZERO!!! and then tries to shoot down his undefeated record and standing as World Champion… Porter’s victory over Malignaggi was night and day better than anyone else’s.. It was brutal, short, and commanding.. The sign of a young power coming of age.. In his previous fight Porter comprehensively beat a man who dominated Maidana.
Malignaggi beat Zab Judah in his previous fight, and fought Adrien Broner to a SD… That was before Broner lost a decision to Maidana, but had Maidana hurt in the 11th round… Broner made MM’s corner frantic in he 11th and they pulled all kinds of antics between rounds, including a mysterious cloth over Marcos’s face placed their by Alex Ariza.Posted July 1, 2014 3:33 pm

I don’t wanna see another Marquez fight and Algeri would be out of his scope if he thinks he’d have a chance at beating Pacman…
Honestly other than Maytwitter vs.Pacman, I guess Maidana is the better opposition.
Until Manny starts fighting out side of Top Rank it’s kind of hard for me to bash him for not fighting him. There are a lot of fights out there for Pac, but you never here his fanboys ask for any of them. They all want to see a 5th fight with Marquez, and will settle for a fight with Algieri with content.Posted July 1, 2014 3:16 pm

Come on now. Y’all don’ think Maidana’s smothering style gave Floyd problems? Y’all don’t like the fact that Maidana tried every tactic in the ring to beat Floyd? Y’all don’t think that Maidana could be Floyd’s Tarver? Close first fight like Roy vs. Tarver. Second fight Chino gonna have better gloves because his first choice of gloves was rejected and his second choice too. I remember when pacquiao fought Morales the first time and they made manny use different gloves. people were like who cares? A glove is a glove. Well Morales won that one. The second fight Manny used his regular gloves and stopped Erik. My point is, even if a glove is a glove, mentally Manny felt more comforatble with what he knew and it showed. Now back to Roy. First fight was close and many thought Tarver won it. Second fight Tarver made sure that wouldn’t be an issue. This is playing out the same way. I understand people want the Manny fiht but I’m looking at it as if we know it won’t be manny so what’s the next best thing?Posted July 1, 2014 12:03 pm

If his cut is slow to heal he might be wise to push back the date. If that is the case Kahn is still a possibility, Mayweather is all about the money and that fight will sell in the UK, and make up for lack of US buys. Maidana rematch is far fitched because of Maidana’s rough house tactics. In the past Floyd could get away and is just to slick to get hit. For some reason he was unable to this time and Maidana put the wood to him. I wrote at the time of the fight “Is this the fight Mayweather gets old?” It was hard to see Floyd strugling to get away and not being able to keep Maidana off him. Maidana just kept coming round after round, rougher, harder, and yes dirtier. In the end dirty are not he took the fight to Mayweather. Mayweather outclassed him in the later rounds after Maidana tired a bit. Not sure Mayweather wants another go at that unless the ring is the biggest one they have or build a bigger one. On the business side of it Schafer is no longer there to give in to all his demands. If he deals with Golden Boy, Oscar may not be so giving as Schafer was on demands and money issues. I think the fight will be put pushed back and we will end up with Kahn and the fight being held in England.Posted July 1, 2014 11:18 am

Marcos wont be able to do dirty like he did the first time, I think deep inside Floyd was not satisfied with his performance he says he was giving fans what they wanted but I am not buying it he had a off night and wants to redeem himself. He needs not to have close fights because he is the most hated guy in the game and these judges could rob him ts been known to happen.
