Walrus.. A vegan? Well that explains it then. I’d be more worried about getting laid out by one of your farts than any damage you couldn’t inflict with your rail thin Woody Allen arms and noodle legs. ROFL.

I respect Bernard Hopkins as a skilled fighter in the ring. His many achivments in PRO boxing is greater then many Hall of Famers.

Walrus is from the U.S.A – Gonzo the Dragonborn is from England and I’m from Sweden and we are all three apperently active boxers. So that is nice!

But I prefer to use diplomatic and reason before I use my fists and gloves in the ring. A boxing match is a boxing match and not supposted to be killing one another.

Yeah, 220lbs of slow moving elephantine lard and blubber, hence the walrus moniker. I, however, am a ripped 172lbs of pure muscle and fast twitch and I can unleash lightning fast 10-12 shot combos — with power — for every solitary ineffective, ponderous roundhouse swing you come at me with.

Thing is, unlike you, I’m not pretending to be a real fighter. I’m the real deal. The full Monty so to speak. I’ve actually been boxing since I was a young nipper and I’ve fought at the highest level with great success as both an amateur and pro. And I hit hard with both hands, not just with one.

You live in the US? How very convenient. Told ya you weren’t gonna show. ROFL. You should thank that vast body of water between us, because that’s the only thing that’s saving you from a royal ass kicking right now. ROFL.

I can speak for myself and don’t need to create alter personas to get my oppinion/point out here or anywhere I write or comment.

I don’t know who walrus is or where he lives or what country he is from but I doubt he is from Sweden but that doesent mather any way and he speaks for his cause and that we share same oppinion on Bernard Hopkins and the subject of haters here is just good. We need more people like walrus with an open mind. He mabey is kind of new but speaks well.

Jonn E. JaGozza – What are you talking about? Mohammad Ali never wanted to fight “Big” George Foreman again after 1974. Foreman chased Ali for 3 years for a rematch and Ali ducked him until WBA forced Ali to fight Foreman if he could get past Jimmy Young and the rest is history but even after that fight Ali never gave Foreman a shot, and Foreman retired from boxing.
Also Jimmy Young dident get a rematch either.
Ali dident want a rematch with Larryu Holmes or Trevor Berbick. The reason accept he was ill and his condition was on a start to downfall = He dident need to face them again.

Ali was already a respected legend who had achived all he could and dident have anything more to prove.

Bernard Hopkins is a legend. Chad Dawson have made little impact in boxing history to be rememberd in the long run while Hopkins have set so many records and conqerd world titles that his legacy is written in stone.

For any fool to question why Hopkins should fight Dawson again, it’s really quite simple … Hopkins lost to him 2 times…. A true champion avenges his losses and when he doesn’t one must conclude that he is ( DEEP DOWN ) is convinced that he can NOT beat him … AGAIN A true champ avenges his losses, Look a Ali, Frazier, How many times did Ali fight Frazier then went after Spinks, He was afraid of NO ONE …quite simply, Hopkins isn’t as great as many out there make him out to be .. Open your eyes and call it what it is rather than protecting an old fart trying to convince you all from his standpoint of his advanced age that he’s still in the game, ..He complains, whines and cries whenever someone does to him what he has resorted doing to his past opponents … He’s old , slow and simply doesn’t have it any more ..RETIRE CHAMP .. I love the way you school’d Trinidad and Pavlik way back when, but that was a much younger man than what you are now .. You were GREAT but ain’t now, “The Language of the Ring” and a book for everyone who loves the sport as much as I do …..

Its unification fight and shumenov has an impressive record you guys just can’t give hopkins credit if only Stevenson and kovalev would fight we could have a fight for an undisputed champ now thats what boxing needs. More unification fights.

walrus – Thank you as well my friend. To many negative haters around here and many with low or bad arguments for there point of view. They just can’t accept and respect a legend.

And for those who keep bring up Chad Dawson to the picture I wonder – Why? What have Dawson accomplished so much that he is worthy to be fought again by Hopkins? And for what reason? Yeah that is right = NO reason at all. Hopkins have already made history over and over again and broken record after record in boxing and is a true athlete. He has nothing more to prove he is a great of greatest fighters ever. What he does now is just to build more on his legacy of legends.

Chad Dawson however is/was just a good athlete and skilled boxer but lacked in many of his fights heart and desire to win and his lack of heart in the ring have been showed many times and just won becouse of his athletic gift, not by will.
Dawson have only made a name of himself beating 40+ fighters and that is not much to argue how greast you are then if that is the best victories you have on your paper.

Hopkins is a guaranteed Hall of Famer in boxing and among the greatest boxing achivers of all times.

Chad Dawson in daytime will have to accomplish a lot of more achivments if he wants to be a true Hall of Famer.

OK, so if it was such a close fight with Dawson getting only a Majority Decision, then just the more reason for Hopkins to call Dawson out and challenge him. But the fool won’t…Why ? because he knows he can’t beat him … …The Language of the Ring … A book for all boxing fans.

Chad Dawson, yeah he won the 2nd fight against Bernard Hopkins and we knew he would be difficult for a 46 year old Bernard Hopkins because Dawson’s style as a fighter was not to be well matched for Hopkins.

BUT again, he didn’t dominate Hopkins and walked him down as that didn’t happen at all.
Dawson won by a MD = Majority Decision with 2 judges scoring for him and the 3rd scored a Draw, that is once again not a sign of domination.
And Dawson was the one who bled in the fight, not Hopkins.
All Dawson had done all the way to the fight was to complain and not admit he made an illegal move in the 1st fight.

Also, great “Bad” Chad Dawson we sawe after he won the title from Bernard Hopkins in 2012. Dawson first got badly handled by super middleweight Andre Ward, a smaller fighter and got knocked out in the 11th round. Then 9 months later he gets knocked-out in 1st ROUND by 35 year old Adonis Stevenson, 1st round (!), that is not impressive for a champ.

Chad Dawson who only have defeated 40+ fighters to his top list with Hopkins x2 fights = 1 win, Antonio Tarver x2 and Glen Johnson x2 etc. He lost the title to Jean Pascal after been stopped in 11th round = Hopkins mastered twice Pascal.

So some people here just don’t give Bernard Hopkins his rightful chare of credit.
He is 49 years old and still champ and have since 2006 fought his career as a light heavyweight and far older then all his opponents (accept Tarver) and proven to be a fighter still belonging in the game!

boxing plus – Stop being a hater. Accept that Bernard Hopkins is a legend and have accomlished so much achivments in his long career that few boxers in history can match. Like him or not but he is a skilled boxer no one have masterd or over-powerd. If you are a champ at age 49, you are something unique among the best boxers in the game.

Posted April 9, 2014 5:11 pm

Like I said pure hate. Ive seen many fighters give hopkins there props after he gave them a boxing lesson you dont accomplish what hopklins has by cheating you can only do it with hard work and determination. Hopkins is master boxer and one of the greates fighters ever.

Sad to see the hate but it doesn’t matter you people are a bunch of nobody that can only spew hate at this great man and all he has accomplished real boxing fans should have more respect for those who compete especially a 50 year old eho still trains as hard as hopkins. The man is amazing and his life is an amazing story .

So many haters, hopkins is by far the greatest gem left in the sport of boxing hes done it his way and never sold out. People dont have to like hopkins his accomplishments speak for themselves. If Bernard can put on another master performance like he did against trinidad , tarver, or pavlik people will have to take him serious against Stevenson or kovalev.

Bernard Hopkins is human excrement. no one can deny he has done amazing to still be fighting at this age, but you also can’t deny what a scumdog he is

Posted April 9, 2014 1:17 am

whatever the outcome of the fight is I don’t care, I just hope Bernard gets hurt. the fact that he rarely actually fights means it’s a long shot, but I live in hope

Posted April 9, 2014 1:17 am

Great fighters chose not to ring hug the whole fight they chose to fight and put great performances like Hagler / Hearns, Ward / Gatti, Morales / Barrera, Holyfields fights, Mike Tyson fights and they will be noted with this throughout history. If anyone one of these fighters I mentioned like Gatti adopted Hopkins style of ring hugging and stalling WOULD THE FIGHT WITH MICKEY WARD BEEN GREAT ? Of course not. There would of never been a 2nd fight or a 3rd fight. Would Tyson been as great heck no. This is why Hopkins can fight to he is 50 HE DOESNT FIGHT. Watch his fights he puts out 10 percent of actual fighting in each round the rest is Clinch and stall. Read the boxing forums everyone says the same thing. Hopkins is dirty and Hopkins is boring. Same thing, same comments. Name one great fight exciting fight Hopkins was in Maybe the Trinidad fight were he head butt Trinidad 27 times, In reality that was a so so exciting fight. Hopkins has never been in a fight were people can say man that was a great fight. As for Sugar Ray Robinson he was the true read deal fighter. Superb in every way. Sure he died broke and had some memory loss. He put himself out there and took the risks the shots, and as one great trainer told me this is what it takes to be great. Hopkins watch his interviews. He admits he people call him out on being boring. Even he knows this. He doesn’t want to get hit or take chances. Most of his wins are UD 12 wins.

Posted April 9, 2014 12:26 am

B Red get a life man. You just don’t see it with B-Hop. He is dirty thru and thru. He talks hours of crap and garbage. He is boring. I am sure any fighter that choses his style of fighting the clinch walk around , clinch, walk around style can fight to a very advance age but fighters chose not to to They rather give the crowd not only the entertainment value but a win. B-hop gives neither he is a dud !

I agree with the legend and 4-time boxing world champion Bernard “The Executioner” Hopkins.

Fighters should ALWAYS aim to unify the world title belts and those titles are as always the 4 major belts WBC/WBA/IBF/WBO and the Ring-Lineal world titles.
Since the 80′s, fighters had to go for unifying the championship belts. Mike Tyson in heavyweight, Michael Spinks in light heavyweight, Evander Holyfield in cruiserweight, Roy Jones Jr in Light heavyweight, Bernard Hopkins in middleweight, Lennox Lewis in heavyweight, Joe Calzaghe in super middleweight, O’Neil Bell in cruiserweight and Wladimir Klitschko in heavyweight are all fighters who not only fought top opponents to defend one belt but they all was hungry to take all major world title belts to become the ONLY champ in there respective weight class.

You can debate on the quality of the opponents but if the champ has all titles, he will almost only fight the mandatory Nr1# and 2# opponents and no cheap cherry picking is possible if the champ wants to be the one and only recognised undisputed world champion.
If a fighter can’t clean out the division of champion “pretenders” you will never-ever become the undisputed world champion in any weight division.

Bernard Hopkins unified all world title belts in the middleweight division and defended his world middleweight crown impossible 20-times. Still he is the only fighter to date to have conquered all 4 major world titles and the Ring title and have them all at same time + defend all titles in a fight in any weight class.

I’m glad that old time legend and IBF world light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins is fighting WBA/IBA world champion Beibut Shumenov in a world title unification. So something there in the division is happening in the quest for unifying the world title belts.

Some people call it the “3rd vs. the 4th best” in the league of light heavyweight boxers BUT in any way, its a right direction to be made in the division.

The winner will be the unified IBF/WBA/IBA world light heavyweight champion and then only Adonis Stevenson’s Lineal/WBC crown and Sergey Kovalev’s WBO world title is left to conquer in order for a fighter to become the final unified and undisputed light heavyweight champion of the world.
Something that haven’t been in the division since 2003.

The WBO world light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev is not as skilled as Lineal/WBC world champion Adonis Stevenson BUT Kovalev haves more pure power and I believe he has more courage in the ring as well as I feel he can go threw the tougher time then Stevenson.

Still Adonis Stevenson is a better athlete and his skills and better speed I believe is what makes him the better bet in a fight with Stevenson vs. Kovalev and I will go for betting on Stevenson.

Just sad that Stevenson doesn’t seem to want to tight Kovalev in a near future so that is a loss for the boxing world when that would be one of the best fights to be made.

Only Manny “Pac-Man” Paquiao vs. “Pretty Boy” Floyd Mayweather Jr (Well the Greedy boy ducks so that one looks never to happen) or Andre Ward vs. Carl Froch II would be higher ranked fights to happen.

No one really cares. This is just a sideshow compared to the No.1 at LHW. Kovalev is the ‘man’ at LHW and they are all running from him. Hopkins gets old and Shumenov dominates.

This is definitely a good fight. Shumenov looks the part and from what I have seen which has only been 2 fights he will bring it. But Hopkins is the great nullifier so we will see what happens. It is just to hard to pick against Hopkins. If he some how gets old over night then he will lose for sure.
