moonshineman, why do you think Pacquiao would have a chance against Floyd? Top rank is one of the main problems here not Floyd being afraid etc. He fought Canelo who presented a real threat as well as Cotto to give you 2 examples. Do you remember how quickly the Cotto v Mayweather fight was made after Cotto left TR? So first think, before posting more embarrassing nonsense!

mayweather could fight for 4 more years and not lose and make a quarter of a billion more,no one in the forseeable will take him,so i say stay and fight
Posted February 25, 2014 5:59 pm

That’s because the chicken chit doesn’t fight anyone who has a chance against him. Why do you think he keeps dodging Pacquiao?.

every year that Floyd ages is one year closer to Pacquiao* finally agreeing to face him. of course, Pacquiao* must also avoid the ravages of time and any more KO punches from Marquez the Greater.

My pick is UD Mayweather in an intriguing fight as Maidana is underestimated.

Posted February 25, 2014 3:59 pm

PRINCE my friend, yes that overhand right that you could see from miles away. Broner simply couldn’t handle a wild man coming at him all night. He froze, lost confidence and was looking for help. He was definitely exposed. Mayweather will have a cake walk. The casinos won’t touch this fight. We’ll see my prediction come true. Stoppage.

Posted February 25, 2014 3:14 pm

Hecdog, it is a better fight than the fight against Khan would have been, yes. I believe Mayweather will win as he is the better boxer, but I doubt he will stop Maidana and you will lose your house (if you actually have one) and everything else you mentioned if you bet on a stoppage. And are you talking about that same “predictable overhand right” that Broner was hit with repeatedly?

Posted February 25, 2014 3:03 pm

Next fight, Fraud will fight a cardboard cut-out of Pernell Sweet P Whittaker so he can avenge his uncle’s loss. Hahahahaha!

Posted February 25, 2014 2:00 pm

PRINCE my friend, do you really think this is going to be a competitive fight? Let’s see, Mayweather is faster, better defense, better movement, better jab, better hook, fought better competition, better reflexes, more athletic, better counter puncher, better use of the ring, better stamina Hmm…Maidana is tough, strong will to fight, good predictable over hand right. This fight will be a one sided beating, and yes, Mayweather will stop Maidana, trust me on this. Matter of fact, I’m betting by house, cars, retirement, saving/checking accts and my bike that Maidana gets stopped. I guarantee this will happen. I like Maidana and am pulling for him, but he has as much chance as Angulo has against Canelo, slim and none.

Posted February 25, 2014 1:57 pm

Happy BDay Floyd and thanks for giving MM the fight. He put the work in.

Posted February 25, 2014 1:53 pm

Floyd will run all night, till Maidana gets tired, then pot shot maidana from the outside at will. Easy night for Mayweather. That’s why he picked Maidana.

Posted February 25, 2014 1:48 pm

Hecdog, you seems to be the one who has no clue! Rewatch the fight with Broner and then tell me again that Maidana has just power and determination! Sure, he is not the second coming of Sugar Ray Leonard, but he has improved since being with Garcia and he is a swarmer that throws punches from akward angels that makes it intriguing.

Posted February 25, 2014 12:24 pm

Time for boxing fans to get smart and not buy this PPV or any other of Mayweathers BS fights. Seriously, Maidana is the most predictable fighter in boxing. He has no chance whatsoever of beating Mayweather. This is the biggest fraud of a fight ever. Floyd makes all of his fans look stupid as they vote for Khan, and Floyd laughs his ass off as he goes the opposite direction and instead picks Maidana. If anyone thinks Maidana has any chance whatsoever, they have some serious issues. Maidana has no defense, horrible feet, no boxing skills, no agility, no reflexes, no gas tank, the man offers nothing, but determination and toughness. This is a beautiful recipe for Floyd Mayweather. I guarantee 1000% that Maidana gets stopped badly. Boxing is letting Mayweather turn the sport into one big joke. You can give Floyd your money if you want to, but I’m not paying a dime. Mr Cherry Picker strikes again. Now, who’s going to pay for this farce?

The world was kept in suspense each tie a Manny Pacquiao fight was announced. Manny “Mania” was alive and well, and Manny became the most popular and influential person in the world. There’s 2 interviews on youtube that should make it clear to anyone that Pacroid is a cheat. did an interview with Justine Fortune, Pacroid’s S&C coach for 9 years.

When asked about his thoughts on PEDs in boxing Fortune had this to say.

Justine Fortune: “Come on dude, you’re in a sport with money in it, if you’re top 10 in your sport you’re either on it, been on it, or thinking of going on it and if you haven’t you’re a (Explicit) liar. Sometimes the monetary gain outweighs the risk. You need to realize that that’s the way it is, it’s in the game, it’s in everything, it’s in absolutely everything, So stop crying about it, if you’re dumb enough to get caught on it then that’s your (Explicit) fault”

This guy is responsible for what Pacroid has put in his body for 9 years.

Then there’s the Radio Rahim interview with Freddie Roach.

Interviewer: What was your thoughts when you heard that Brandon Rios failed the drug test?

Freddie Roach:” I know he has a new strength coach and I don’t get along with the guy (Alex Ariza) and one of the reasons he doesn’t work with me anymore is because I think he’s a little shady, he used to give Manny a drink everyday before workouts, I asked him what’s in that drink and he would never tell me and I said I need to know because you’re giving it to my fighter and if something goes wrong I’m gonna get the blame, in my opinion he’s shady, he’s with that camp now and it doesn’t surprise me that happened”

Check out the interviews on youtube.

Pacroid could confess on national television and Pactards would still be in denial.

Who cares if Floyd Mayweather jr earned more money or not against Canelo or whatever name to bring up here, there never was a good fight to look at any way as Mayweather Jr only fights opponents he can pick and all his fans buyes it with-out accepting the thod of that he don’t fight the TRUE opponents he should fight in right order. He is no true legend to choose and pick opponents right like that to add.

The point is the same here like many have better said here. The US dollar was worth a lot more back in the 50’s, 60’s, 70′ etc so those dollars where better plus that there are more people living on this planet now then back then.

O more to say, the money earned in a fight doesent make the athletic effort at all bigger. If fans of Floyd Mayweather Jr only cares for how much he earnes on his fights or his bling-bling style of living, then I feel sorry for these people as they are NOT fans of the sport of boxing but fans of Dollars = MONEY.

These people should go and buy stocks and get there kicks on the stock market, not by watching boxing or any sport.

No matter what any Floyd Mayweather Jr fans aays about the money issues, It will stay the same and the fact that people prefer to talk about other fighters matches from now and the says it all the Mayweather Jr lacks the heart to deliver those memoble fights to the people and money is not what real boxing fans cares for. We real fans care about boxers fights and the best opponnets they face and the wars we watches. There is a reason why we love to talk about legends like Marvin Hagler, Thomas Hearns, Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson, Oscar De la Hoya, Roy Jones jr, Mike Tyson, Julio Cesar Chavez, Evander Holyfield, George Foreman, Larry Holmes, Mohammad Ali, Joe Frazier and the list goes on and on.

Floyd Mayweather jr mabey have earned lots of money, mabey he have won a lot of fights and WBC belts BUT that will not make him to a lovble legend like these fighters became WHY? Becouse they fought the best opponents there was and dident make a living on cherry picking there opponents ALL the time.

End of story.

Posted February 24, 2014 5:05 pm

Boxing fans could care less who Floyd Mayweather fights next unless it’s the legendary Manny Pacquiao or GGG. True boxing fans have become bored with him as he plays his childish games as to who he is going to fight. Floyd, no cares anymore. You have made a mockery of what a true boxing champion is. Ducking, dodging, running, hiding from Kotysa Tyzu, young Mosely, young Oscar, Margarito, Pacquiao and many more. He will never be remembered as a true fighter and his legacy of one that would rather make money than take on the best in his era. Floyd and his family attempted to humiliate the great Manny Pacquiao by accusing him of using PEDS, they were sued, paid handsomely and shut up. Floyd and others tried to tell the world that Manny was using, and they fell flat on their faces. Interestingly enough, The Ped Mess article by well respected author Thomas Hauser comes out pointing to some serious rumors about Floyd failing three tests. Where’s all the follow up on this article? No one seems to bring it up. Three possible failed tests rumor or fact is a big deal. Interesting how Floyd never fights out of Las Vegas. Why is that? Floyd Mayweather, the guy that cowardly sucker punches an opponent. Floyd Mayweather, the same guy that criticizes catch weights and then fights at catch weights. Floyd Mayweather, the same guy that criticizes the great Muhammad Ali, doesn’t even know Ali’s history and then says he loves, admires and respects him. Ever wonder why he never gets any major endorsements? His boxing career is tarnished, but his character is beyond helping. He will always be the fighter that avoided the ONLY 8 time division boxing champion in history, Fighter Of The Decade (Floyd is in Manny’s decade), Manny Pacquiao. No one will care when Floyd finally retires, which I hope is soon. He has turned boxing into a laughable circus. Rich and wealthy and in love with his materials is Floyd Mayweather, but to stand along great fighters like Duran, Leonard, Ali, Louis, Johnson, Chavez, Sanchez, Hearns, Hagler, Holmes is unthinkable. Those fighters receive true respect by fans and peers. Floyd receives very little from anyone, especially his peers. Please hurry up and retire so fans can get back to real boxing.

I am interested in seeing him in more competitive fights but he is a WW. The man started his career at 130 and has moved all the way to WW. Floyd is a fighter that doesn’t even keep the weight on when he moved up to 154. His last fight he weighed what 152, and the day of the fight he was 146. Its not his fault that nobody at WW can compete with him.

since you like Floyds fans excuses here are some from Arum on why the fight couldn’t be made

So someone please tell me why 4 months was not enough time to promote a fight that they whole world wants to see? Can someone tell me why there needed to be a stadium built for this particular fight? These where 2 reason given by Arum on why the fight couldn’t be made a year or so ago? Arum even said the fight couldn’t happen because Floyd was going to jail in June even though the fight would of been scheduled for May. So once again can someone please explain the reasons for this?

Well how come GGG doesn’t move to 168? He called out all the way up to Light Heavy yet doesn’t want to move to 168. And says he wants to clean out 160. Not to mention GGG has clearly stated he did not call out Floyd. He said he would not turn a fight down with Floyd. But who would except for Pac.

Posted February 24, 2014 4:15 pm

@Sant Flores, it is not about boring or exciting, it is about who has the best chance. GGG is not proven at all just fighting bums, at least Lara has fought some quality names and has the speed and movement to trouble Mayweather. GGG just has power, thats it.

Posted February 24, 2014 4:13 pm

Pac has declined the figth, GGG is a middleweight not to mention fights on HBO and although Lara would make for a good counter punching fight there really isn’t much money in that fight. Lara has zero fan base.

Posted February 24, 2014 4:03 pm

Killing Moon The Soothsayer

Oh plz Floyd will never fight GGG …He would want nothing of that fight (And rightly so)…GGG first and foremost has the style which always makes Floyd struggle…He’s a pressure-fighter(Moves like Hagler) also note that GGG has a perfect jab and hits like a MtherFkr…Floyd could pedal for some rounds but every pressure-fighter he’s fought has eventually gotten to him…And if this pressure-fighter gets to him it’s game over..I think Floyd can take Martinez(He’s not the same guy) and Lara and possibly also Pacman….But GGG …No..

Posted February 24, 2014 3:56 pm

I wouldn’t mind seeing Floyd agree to year round drug testing. Floyd did start the drug testing movement, might as well take it a step further and go year round. But it is still funny that everybody is willing to take the test but one fighter that has tried to fight Floyd.

Brazilian Boxing Fan

Floyd Mayweather Jr. was born when Muhammad Ali was World Heavyweight Champion.

Posted February 24, 2014 3:53 pm

Floyd is on PEDs

Haymon’s flagship fighter, of course, is Floyd Mayweather.

On June 24, 2013, at a media sitdown before the kick-off press conference for Mayweather vs. Canelo Alvarez, Leonard Ellerbe (CEO of Mayweather Promotions) told reporters, “We’ve put in place a mechanism where all Mayweather Promotions fighters will do mandatory blood and urine testing 365-24-7 by USADA.”

USADA declined a request from this writer for comment on the truth of Ellerbe’s contention. Al Haymon also declined comment for this article. And questions remain regarding the issue of whether or not, several years ago, Mayweather “A” samples tested positive on three occasions.

Referencing that issue, Dan Rafael of stated during a November 21, 2012, online chat, “I need to see proof before I accuse somebody of something so serious. What is fact, however, is that the settlement in the Pacquiao-Mayweather lawsuit happened after the Pacquiao camp tried to get Mayweather’s USADA testing records. So maybe where there is smoke there is fire.”

So here’s a suggestion. Why doesn’t Floyd Mayweather enroll in VADA’s 24-7-365 program? And let him state publicly, “Any fighter who wants to be eligible to fight me must enroll in VADA’s 24-7-365 program NOW.”

And let’s take it a step further. In addition to Mayweather, Broner, Quillin, Berto, and Love, Al Haymon currently represents Danny Garcia, Devon Alexander, Lucas Matthysse, Marcos Maidana, Leo Santa Cruz, Keith Thurman, Austin Trout, Omar Figueroa, Gary Russell Jr, Sakio Bika, Josesito Lopez, Erislandy Lara, Shawn Porter, Errol Spence, Chris Arreola, Seth Mitchell, and Deontay Wilder.

Let’s assume that all of these fighters are clean. Let them all enter a 24-7-365 VADA testing program. I can’t speak for anyone else. But that would certainly make a believer out of me.

Al and Floyd have enough money to fund it.

It’s easy to talk the talk. Let’s see who walks the walk.

Posted February 24, 2014 3:46 pm

Floyd is on PEDs

Thus, it’s worth focusing on Edwin Rodriguez and the laudable commitment to 24-7-365 VADA testing that he recently made.

In August of this year, Rodriguez signed with manager Al Haymon. At least three of Haymon’s fghters (Andre Berto, Antonio Tarver, and J’Leon Love) have tested positive for PEDs in the past.

Another Haymon fighter (Peter Quillin) was enrolled in a USADA testing program prior to his June 2, 2012, fight against Winky Wright. Then, after blood and urine samples were taken from both fighters, Wright was told that the testing had been abandoned and the samples were destroyed.

Haymon also represents Adrien Broner.

Broner, Antonio DeMarco, Golden Boy (Broner’s promoter), and the United States Anti-Doping Agency signed a contract for USADA testing prior to the November 17, 2012, Broner-DeMarco fight. But according to DeMarco, he wasn’t tested by USADA for that bout, nor was Broner.

Then, on June 22, 2013, Broner fought Paulie Malignaggi.

“I wanted VADA testing,” Malignaggi recalls. “And I was told, ‘No, we won’t do VADA. If you insist on VADA, there won’t be a fight.’ Finally, I said, ‘F— it. I’m getting seven figures. I’ll go ahead and fight.’ Would I have been more confident that Broner was clean if there had been VADA testing? Absolutely.”

@PRINCE please Lara maybe but it would be a very boring fight!!! They have same style but yes I believe Lara does have a shot but GGG has a much better shot!

Why dont you guy’s give 3G a chance, Floyd’s been a pro for 17 year’s and you guy’s are aking 3G to accomplish what floyd has in less than a thrid of the time.

I would agree that it’s time triple G man’s up and takes toughf fights.

Nothing like being a
Under- accomplished fighter.

Posted February 24, 2014 3:24 pm

He will move up very soon but wants to clean out Mayweather, Canelo, Martinez, and eventually move up to 168 and go after Ward and all super middleweights. Mayweather will make history just by taking on GGG so he really has nothing to lose but greatness to gain!!!

We all know Pac is $70 Million USD in debt and is past his prime, going 2-2 in his last 4 fights.

Pac MUST win against Bradley to generate 2-3 more high grossing PPV events before he can retire.

I understand him desperately needing Justine Fortune right now, only Fortunes’ extensive knowledge of PEDs and connections can re-juvenate Pac at this point in his career. This explains Pacs’ refusal do do VADA suddenly.

The down side is that with Fortune on his team, Pac will never get the mega fight with Mayweather because all Mayweather fights have USADA testing and Pac could never pass that test on Fortunes’ PED regimen.

It’s sad to see another boxer have nothing to show for 20 years as a proffessional, legacy shattered and not a dime to his name.

Boxing is a brutal sport.

Sant Fllores, why cant Triple G test himself going up weiight classes like Pac, Floyd, Marquez, Bhop, Roy, Oscar, Shane, Jcc, Ray Leonard, Hearns, SRR, Hatton, Calzaghe? etc.

I’m officially creating a grade system on a fighters “0”.

Floyd’s grade point average is a 3.5

Sant Flores

@PRINCE, no disrespect but you don’t know what you are saying. GGG slow, maybe, but we won’t know til they fight how slow he really is. Now tell me who at this point would really have a better chance? Let’s make this fight happen then we can talk all u want!!

Happy Bday Champ!!!!

Prince formally know as prince lol.

Prince has a very nice little red corvette.

Posted February 24, 2014 2:56 pm

eric got the beat. Floyd’s 0 goes up in value if he beats the other great fighter of the era…

Posted February 24, 2014 2:56 pm

See this is how crazy mother f-rs like me think.

There’s some on here no matter how right I am, they will never agree with anything I say.

Prince is the little bloke who did Purple Rain and knows more about boxing than the Prince here…

Posted February 24, 2014 2:52 pm

C’mon Floyd, fight the little Filipino dude…

Posted February 24, 2014 2:50 pm

“ITS” against weak opposition” you said it not me.

You answerd hour own question and confirmed mine in your own statement.

Got a feeling you just want to agrue, everybody knows if you knockout all bums it doesn’t mean much.

Hey your a fan so thats what fans say, if it were a fighter you don’t like I guarantee would would be saying the same thing I am.

Don’t be a politician my man, it makes you lose credibility like your boy wilder.

I do want to see wilder do good in his carrer by the way.

Posted February 24, 2014 2:43 pm

Thank u kornerman

Posted February 24, 2014 2:39 pm

shaun the god

nah thats not true. wilders 0 is impressive really. especialy that he has knocked everyone out he has faced. i know its only against weak/stable opposition but still. its not easy to knock somone out.

Posted February 24, 2014 2:33 pm

If floyd didn’t avoid a oscar/hatton rematch, avoid shane Mosley and cotto in their primes and avoid margirto all togather he may not have a “o” right now, those things alone lessens floyds grade value on his “o”.

Fighten pac.. and winning doesn’t excuse the past but it strength s his case. Gives his 0 more credit.

Posted February 24, 2014 2:32 pm

Wilders in 30 pro fights and his o means nothing.

Posted February 24, 2014 2:24 pm

Some may say, Joe c retired with an “0” but it may not be as valuable as floyds undefeated record if he retired now, however, if floyd beats pac… and then retires his “o” takes on more credit, higher vaule.

Why must I explain these simple things ?

Khan’s Cuz Achmed

Hope he has a wonderful day filled with lots of strippers, piles of $1’s to make it rain, a winning bet against his bookie and a nice piece of Fiddy’s backside. #KingKhan2014

@Sant Flores, you are talking nonsense. What enables Golovkin to walk through Mayweather? He certainly is not faster both with his hands and with his feet, so how is he going to do that? He would only have a punchers chance just like Canelo had, and we know what happened there.

Posted February 24, 2014 2:19 pm

I was making a point, didn’t compare wilders 0 to floyds 0.

It’s about the 0.

A 0 has value in it, not all o’s are created equal, it’s a point that may go over some heads, not surprisingly.

Posted February 24, 2014 2:18 pm

Wilders 0 and Floyds 0 are 2 different things. Wilder is not fighting anybody in the top 10 or really even in the top 20 and sometimes 30 or 40. Floyd is constantly fighting people ranked in the top 10 and on the mythical P4P list. Not even close to being comparable.

Posted February 24, 2014 2:12 pm

Sant Flores

Forget all others, if he beats GGG then yes he will be the greatest and the fight has to be at 154, I doubt this fight will take place. This is the only one that will walk right through Mayweather, aside from GGG there’s no one beating him

Posted February 24, 2014 2:00 pm

Why didn’t pac choose a real opp. Why didn’t pac fight Canelo he’ll stop fight the same old top rank fighter’s to try and look good we know pac beat Bradley already so why didn’t pac take a risk b/c pac is at the end of his rope

Posted February 24, 2014 1:54 pm

An “0” on one’s record can have diffrent values, deontay wilders 0 dosent mean much.

Floyd’s 0 would increase in vaule if he fought pac… it would be the cherry on top, no-pun intended, hmm yeah it was intended, why lie.

Posted February 24, 2014 1:53 pm

Some ppl getting out of hand when it comes to Floyd the man can’t fight everyone in every weight class he has proven to be the best so deal with it pac man is not that big of a threat to Floyd

Posted February 24, 2014 1:47 pm

This writer is crazy Floyd only weigh 148 pounds and that walk around weight . Why they never want pac man to go up and fight ggg he’ll Floyd just fought Canelo that was a risky fight so what he’ll pac just fight the same hand pick fights over and over but that’s cool for pac fans please

Posted February 24, 2014 1:43 pm

and what is all the fuss about Golovkin. the guy hasnt fought anyone of importance yet and it doesnt look like this will change soon. So, please stop mentioning Golovkin, he is an unproven nobody.

Posted February 24, 2014 1:38 pm

Why would fighting Pacquiao be a risk?

Posted February 24, 2014 1:36 pm

some folks are just so desperate to see him lose that they want him fighting 2 weights above his natural division, he’d have to take on Vlad Klitschko to make some folks happy, pphhtt.
