Those numbers were not bad because they where in China. They still fought at the normal time in the US. They where bad because Pac does not have the following he once had. His numbers have been dropping ever since the Mosley fight. When he fought Marquez the last 2 times if you hear the crowd in the stadium they where pro Marquez unlike the first 2 times when they where pro Pac.

Till TP and GBP can’t work together we will get bs fights.

Posted January 16, 2014 12:10 am

Get over it: don’t know why you insist on changing your name it’s only because when your wrong you don’t want people knowing who you are. PAC only had bad numbers because it was in china. Bradley and Marquez had 175000 less buys so I think pacs numbers are still ok

Posted January 15, 2014 8:12 pm

And happyboy I don’t disagree I think he should fight Bradley and he will win easy, so I’m not ducking that fight its not a blockbuster but I thi k he should avenge that. But when he does are you floydoids going to put some pressure on princess to make the big fight cause PAC will deserve it, as he always has. Because there is no way khan is even in any class to touch a fight like that, pretty weak from may if you ask me.

Posted January 15, 2014 6:23 pm

Happyboy read the news he’s not fighting Gamboa and manny could fight at lightweight so he hasn’t been bashing up and smaller opponents actually always bigger opponents and winning in spectacular fashion, manny was the draw when margo and Moseley fought him so that’s why they agreed to meet at catch weights, and please khan a welter can’t remember who said that but IDIOT. When he fights Bradley the p4p 3 and wins all you floydoids better apologise to the great man cause there is no way the champ is over the hill and beating Bradley will go along way to proving that

Posted January 15, 2014 6:17 pm

get over it

Pee J manny is no draw, his fights ppv have been declining every since he lost to Marquez, no one buys his fights thats why no one wants to fight him because the pay is so lousy, Thanks to Arum he has no opponets besides Brady or Ruslan in any case, people will still not buy either fight, Guys like Floyd, Danny Garcia, Maidana hell even Kahn have huge followings, Manny is screwed and he is done if he fight Bradley or Ruslan certainly he losses and remains broke and if he fights a lightweight like Mickey Garcia or Gamboa he wins but no one will care or pay to see it, he is up a creek without aa peddle because of Top Rape and Arum…

Posted January 15, 2014 3:05 pm

Hidalgo – neither has Pac. He just got ktfo by 40yr old JMM who lost to Bradley whom he wants to offer a lousy $5M, now he might fight Gamboa or Mikey Garcia featherweights who should fighting each other, wonder if he will offer them cachweights like he did when he was coming up, I doubt it.

Posted January 15, 2014 2:38 pm

Auzbox – it’s 2014 not 2009, Bradley is unbeaten, the World Champ, rated #3 P4P with wins over JMM, Pac, Provodnikov, Casamayor, Alexander & Peterson ( thats 6 world champions including 2 future HOFmers) thats a pretty good brand. Manny may be the draw but has not been drawing much lately 475k against a lightweight, a loss against a 40yr old JMM, a boring win over an over the hill Mosley, weight drained & diluted Margarito. Like it or not Pac is done snd Bradley deserves a better split.

Posted January 15, 2014 2:32 pm

Against Julio Diaz, right? That was his only weltweight fight, right? And both men weighed in substantially under the 147 lbs. weight limit.

Posted January 15, 2014 2:28 pm

“AUZBOX, Floyd will make ANY welter out there — ANY — look like a soft-touch and cherrypicked opponent. ”

But over the years, Floyd hasn’t fought “ANY” welter out there. Just some. Now he may fight Khan. Tell me, when was Khan’s last welterweight fight?

Posted January 15, 2014 2:26 pm

Bradley won’t make more than Pac. Pac is the draw period. Bradley needs to realize that and realize there is not as much money in the bucket as there was in the first fight. He will need to settle with what he got last time. Sucks but that’s just what he gonna have to do

Posted January 15, 2014 2:16 pm

Manny KOs Gamboa easy he is 130lbs besides that in his last fight he was almost dropped this just shows how pathetic Manny has become, I actually heard they are trying to look for a fighter from the golden gloves to fight Manny, lol Marquez said to tell with Arum, Bradley told them If you going to screw me at least buy me dinner and a movies I want 10 million. So who does that leave?

AUZBOX, Floyd will make ANY welter out there — ANY — look like a soft-touch and cherrypicked opponent. his utter dominance at welter is irrefutable. comparable to the two-headed Klitschko’s dominance at heavy. Btw, the likes of Khan and Guerrero are full-fledged welters. Gamboa is barely a full-fledged and rusty 130lbr. Pacquiao’s* first order of business should be rebuilding his brand by redeeming his loss v. Bradley and NOT insist on dictating terms v. fighters who have defeated Him. Btw, i notice that not even the most delusional Pacquiao* fanboy dares address my strategy of Pacquiao* agreeing to face Mayweather on Floyd’s terms and turning the tables on him in an eagerly-anticipated rematch. obviously, even Pacquiao* worshippers aren’t confident of a Pacquiao* win that would compel a rematch. IMO, he’s not even worth of a single matchup v. “Money” but IF he insists, he needs to drop the ego and pick up a purpose. that being to rebuild his brand and reclaim his negotiating clout. because at the moment, all we can remember is a Marquez hopping over the “Get Crackin” logo before lumbering to the opposite corner and raising his fists in victory.

Posted January 15, 2014 11:11 am

Arum has now come out and said Guerrero and Gamboa where never talked about as opponents. So not sure why they came out saying that. So was Arum lying yesterday and telling the truth today? Either way they need concentrate on making the Bradley fight

What has Gamboa done to show he would even be competitive with Rios? Almost looks like Mr Smith is trying to sell us the fight…

Posted January 15, 2014 10:37 am

And as for second rate fighters: the better fighter group is at golden boy and they don’t want to work with top rank not the other way around.

Posted January 15, 2014 8:14 am

Frederick remember this:floyd picks his opponents manny doesn’t. If you follow boxing really closely you would know that manny is not fighting Gamboa or guerro, he wants Bradley and is trying to get the deal done

Rios was 31-1 and a former world champion… Ask Anthony Peterson and Mike Alvarado if Rios is incompetent. They’ll knock you flat.

Pacquiao will flat beat Tim Bradley’s ass in… Tim is pricing himself out of the fight asking for 3 million more than he deserves.

Pac is ready to fight… Floyd wants to cherry-pick guys like Khan.

Pac is too risky for floyd. Your dumb if u dont know this and this why floyd got 68mil excuses to avoid Manny. Go ask 50cent dumbo. Gamboa is undefeated fast and powerful. This will be great for pac’s legacy.

Posted January 15, 2014 2:59 am

The Rios win gave Manny an extended life in the spotlight but that’s illusory at best, Pac’s done.

Posted January 15, 2014 2:41 am

The only reason we’re talking about Pac is because Rios was so incompetent that he couldn’t test his chin but I don’t think Pac’s chin will stand any serious attack from a competent operator…I don’t think so at all.

Posted January 15, 2014 2:33 am

When you look at it that way, it’s a good idea if he fights a small Gamboa…& even then he’ll be in danger because Gamboa has a fast & powerful left hook. Pac should retire.

Posted January 15, 2014 2:26 am

Pac should not fight Prov either because i don’t think his chin-Pacs chin that is-won’t hold to Prov relentless & powerful attack…Pac’s pretty much done.

Posted January 15, 2014 2:21 am

“Pacquiao is looking at Guerrero…” smart move because a healthy Bradley would beat his as*.

Posted January 15, 2014 2:17 am

Pacquiao is looking at Guerrero… He sure is… He thinks he can beat Guerrero a lot worse than Floyd did, which will turn the pressure up.

As far as Gamboa goes??? He’s undefeated so you have to give that some consideration.. They could build the fight up and fool a lot of fans into thinking he’s a massive threat with his unreal speed and punching power.. He’s not.. But most fans won’t know that.

If Floyd can fight Khan — what’s wrong with Gamboa for Pacquiao???

Posted January 15, 2014 1:12 am

Mike Tyson

Robert Guerrero and Yuriorkis Gamboa are not being looked at as potential opponents for Manny Pacquiao’s next fight on April 12th, according The Manila Standard.

It’s still bradley or Provodnikov.
They want Bradley first but Bradley is staying at asking 8 million guaranteed.
And they are not sure what the ppv number will be.
True manny should that bradley even if it’s a smaller payday as a win over bradley is a sort of a win over Marquez. PAC has unfinished business with Bradley and he should deal with it now.

Posted January 15, 2014 12:53 am

I don’t know what the Floidiots SAID but I would be HAPPY to see Pac challenge himself vs Bradley. Bradley has the BEST resume in Boxing based on everyone’s last 3 Fights. Floyd is the Top Welter in the World and Bradley is the 2nd BEST based on results. Beating Bradley SO decisively that even a BLIND Mouse can’t say otherwise would be a HUGE statement made by Pac. Beting Beating Provodnikov, Gamboa, or a #0 P4P Guerrero really isn’t.

Posted January 14, 2014 10:38 pm

He can’t fight golden boy fighters so Thurman is no good anyway, Thurman fought an 8 loss guy last time out. And please I hope you didn’t mean because he was worried about khan he beats him any day any time. As for prov he is a light welter and he does the same as he did to rios. I think rios could go close to beating prov

This pundit says.., “Pacquiao likely won’t jump at the chance of fighting Gamboa because of his hand speed and defensive skills.”

Defensive skills??? What have you been smoking??? Gamboa has all the defensive skills of Amir Khan or Adrien Broner.

My guess is Pac will settle on Guerrero… That would be a shame because Guerrero is a southpaw Rios, only more hittable… Who wants to watch another 12 rounds of target practice???

Gamboa would be an easy mark for Pacquiao. He would punch the crap out of him and knock him out … and he hasn’t knocked anyone out for several years.

Floyd? of course, Pacquiao* fanboys would love to watch Floyd take more risks v. Martinez, Ward, or Hopkins. unfortunately, Floyd can’t even bulk-up to 154lbs, where he STILL dominates the top champions and contenders. when it comes to matchmaking, you’re comparing apples to bowling balls if you try and compare Mayweather to Punkuiao*. there is no comparison. only hate for Floyd and blind worship of Punkuiao*.

The subtle shifts in pace, the masterful use of angles, the on-the-spot adaptability-this is what boxing at its highest level is all about. To true boxing fans, a Mayweather master class is every bit as entertaining as a two-fisted brawl. Genius is only boring to the poorly-informed and the legitimately dim-witted.

Floyd fans are one of a kind and they must be respected for that, I mean after all Floyd uses Xylocaine and his fans never call him out on that and also that they don’t feel that it gives unfair advantage to any boxer who uses Xylocaine and these are the ppl who talk about even playing field and Floyd is the most hard working fighter and is always in top shape but then Floyd did not make weight for jmm fight and then they say look how floyd dominated jmm and look how jjm gave tough time to Pac and they never talk about floyd never making weight for jmm fight.
we understand and it’s ok.

And don’t talk about mismatching TUMBO. That’s all floyd does except canelo. The rest are walkthroughs so don’t poke at any other fighter cause floyd started this, can’t wait till he names khan then all you floydoids can beat it cherry picker at his best hahahahahahahaha lmao

Seems Top Rank/Bob Arum is out opponents. Bradley isn’t the brawler Pac needs to look good. Marquez is happy with his KO vindication. Rios isn’t skilled enough. Mike Alvarado just got starched. And the “Russian Rocky” is too friendly with Pac. Hey, Bob, be a real promoter and call up Golden Boy, perhaps they have someone.

If paqiao chooses Maidana and beat the shot out of him you would be the first one to say he cherry picked because Maidana is a punching bag !!!

And if paqiao is protected as you say then mayweather is too because their best wins they have are wins from the same opponents , unless of course you call Ortiz and baldomir tough fights but Bradley easy one hahahahahahahahaha

Btw, “slim pickings” at welterweight(?!?) compelling Pacquiao* to target rusty and inactive featherweights is a total crock of S**T. welter is the deepest division in boxing right now. how is it possible that Pacquiao* can’t find a single welter to match up against? in fact, it’s not possible. just more promotional hype on behalf of “poor” Pacquiao*.

Wtf happened to Garcia, Thurman, Mathysse, or Maidana? in fact, even the likes of Ortiz, Guerrero, Broner, and Soto-Karass apparently pose too much of a risk for Manny*. there hasn’t been a fighter in boxing more carefully managed and matched-up than Pacquiao* over the past 10 years. this is nothing less than a shameless attempt at mismatching in Pacquiao’s* favor and on Pacquiao’s* terms(?!) . . . AGAIN. is it any wonder that fighters are reluctant or simply refuse to grab their ankles for St. Pacquiao*?

auzbox, I know, I know. poeple have been singing the same tune for 4 years now. Mayweather is afraid. He might be for all I know. But that’s no reason for saying that fighters who have already beat Pac, don’t deserve an equal share. That includes Bradley, IMO. From the sounds of things, Pacquiao isn’t willing to budge. He better find something, casue the door to his career is starting to close.

Posted January 14, 2014 7:11 pm

Floyd fans should be ashamed of their paper champ he claims he it the nunber 1p4p and still is so afraid to face pacman…..if like he said pac is not on his level then why not fight him? if what he says is true then manny is easy money for him.. but everytime he talks about manny I can see fear on his eyes..

You don’t earn things by beating guys others didn’t, styles makes fights. A fighter that loses to manny might beat floyd so that doesn’t mean much I agree these lightweights are a stupid move but once again arum said manny could leave to make the fight and floyd still doesn’t want it so I’m not sure even if he beats the klits one after another he would still not get the may fight. May doesnt want it and there is only one reason why

Why doesn’t Bradley deserve an equal share? Bradley’s the current WBO title holder. He’s holding Pacquiao’s former title. He just beat the guy who knocked Manny out. That’s pleanty of reasons for Bradley to think he deserves an equal share of the purse. Why would anyone knock him for trying to get it, is a better question.

So there you have it, Bradley asks for too much, and Manny’s off scott free, like always… Bradley, the current titlest should laydown and take whatever is left over, after Pac gets his share? Yeah, I bet everyone else here would do that, if they were in Tim’s position. Two fighters back to back, are unable to make a fight with Pac, cause they’re asking too much, even though both have wins over him. Perhaps it’s time for Pac to give a little. besides, he’ll beat Bradley more than likely, then go on to be in the drivers seat once again.

Posted January 14, 2014 3:45 pm

get over it

Rem I guess you right Floyd is a cherry picker. It makes sense to pick a undefeated guy like Canelo who just about KOed everyone he faced and to this day no one wants to fight. To pass up the great Manny a guy with 5 losses and hasnt KOed anyone since 09 I can see how that is logical. It also makes sense to Make Arum rich, and to fight Manny a guy that makes less than 3 million a fight. When Floyd can fight a guys like Canelo and make 150 million. Yes I agree he is ducking Manny. And he should fight Mannt and not Kahn, Danny Garcia and Maidana in 2014 and make lets say 300 million doing it when he can let Arum work him over and get 50/50 fighting Manny. One one hand he can be is own boss and make all profit on the other hand he can Make a jew richer the same one who robed him when he was at Top Rape, who can a man chose? thats tough lol

KO win for the PAC

Posted January 14, 2014 3:26 pm

no mercy

Rem job Manny fought Cotto, Oscar and Margecheato at a catch weight and dehydrtaed not at 154 like Floyd, Second Manny was never beat one undefeated fighter. And the only guys he dominated have had weight issues. He never Dominated Bradley or Marquez but they are the same weight as he is. Manny is a hype job the biggest lie in the sport. Why he couldnt KO a blown up Rios a lightweight who came off a huge loss. I bet you though Rios was tough he stood right in front of Pac all night and he could KO him? This is the same man who stopped Cotto and Oscar? Manny has no power anymore now he is ducking Bradley and looking to fight Gamboa, Mickey Garcia or Robert Guerrero. The only guys Manny can beat either have weight issues or Floyd left overs. The only way Manny survives in 2014 is if he fights bums like Rios. Arum will find another sucker for the taking and his nutthuggers will cry Floyd is scared. C.J. Ross cheated Manny, Marquez got lucky they have more excuses than a man going to prison. Why wont Manny avenge his losses in the real question no one cares about 09.

Posted January 14, 2014 3:21 pm

Edwin Rentas

Forget Manny…..Floyds fans and boxing fans in general are being raped worse by Floyd, and with out grease to boot, every time he fights people like the Ortiz' , Guerrero's and Khan's of the world, and then has the audacity to believe those exhibtions are worth $70!!!!

Posted January 14, 2014 3:15 pm

Titopa Pac has fought 2 legitimate lineal champs at WW Cotto and Bradley. Anything over 139 is WW. Floyd fought Cotto at 54 where he was a nobody. Canelo was considered lineal champ at 54 but in reality he was a nobody.

Gamboa was sad in his last fight. Bad move on Pac part if the Bradley fight is not made.. There is only one fight Bradley because the Russian kid has nowhere to go. He can continue to fight on HBO build a base. NOW Gamboa ALMOST GOT KNOCK OUT IN THE 12RD IN HIS LAST FIGHT. He waited toooo long. ship sailed serve him up. Pac knocks him out in 6rds.. no chin

Posted January 14, 2014 2:59 pm

How pathetic is Arum he is out of his mind and options for Manny and is just trying to cash out on as much as he can for the little time he has left. He is passing up anyone who can beat Manny and settling to lightweights and Featherweights wanting to move up? Wow how low can you go. Instead of Bradley and Ruslan, Arum is interested in guys like Mickey Garcia, Gamboa and now even Robert Guerrero, What a complete travesty not to mention guys like Danny Garcia, Mallinagi and Maidana. Floyd is cash cow and everyone knows it. Manny is done and no one even buys his fights. Rios wasnt even ranked as a welter what a joke. How can he demand Floyd fight him for what so that Arum can get a handout? Manny is the most humble ignorant exploited fighter in the game. How in the hell can you be 68-70 million in back taxes? And sell only 475,000 ppvs for a guy like Rios, Then you state that if Floyd fights you it will be the biggest in boxing history money wise, Maybe back in 09 but certainly not now…

Posted January 14, 2014 2:56 pm

REM – Who has Pac fought at 147? Rios? I’m not even saying Floyd is “the champ” at 147, but he should be ranked WAY higher than Pac…record shows Pac lost to Bradley and was put to sleep by Marquez, then cam back to beat a 140lb guy coming off of a loss. LOL

Posted January 14, 2014 2:30 pm

freddie said it best if pac loose then he is done so arum and pac is going to fix it so pac will win so arum can get that last payday out of pac then leave him broke with tax problems

Posted January 14, 2014 2:22 pm

Floyd is the best at 147 and is the Champ at 147. That is who he is. Lets see he has the WBC and beat the person who had the WBA belt. Pac won the WBO belt after beating Mosley who was coming off a loss to Floyd. How did that happen. Yeah Floyd is the Champ and is currently the man that all roads lead to at 147, well if you want to be considered the best

Pac really doesn’t have any fight that will become a huge PPV event unless it is against Floyd.

Posted January 14, 2014 2:01 pm

Well thats fine but at the time Guerrero was rated high in the rankings. Either way Floyd is the best at 147 and he deserves to be the Champion at that weight currently. Guerrero was ranked high, I haven’t read the rules, didn’t realize they changed them. But I don’t think they changed them to benefit Golden Boy fighters. That rule applies to all fighters. And like I said before there ratings are pretty close to the same as other ratings out there.

“Also one thing you have to remember is Floyd was the lineal champ when he went on hiatus for that 2 years also.”

“Was” is the key word here.

Posted January 14, 2014 1:42 pm

Did this author really think that Pacquiao will not fight this Yuriorkis Gamboa because of his hand speed and defensive skills? Why would Pacquiao fight Mayweather then?

I’m sure it’s gonna be a good fight if this gets made up but it’s just not money maker. If Pacquiao doesn’t fight him, it has nothing to do with Gamboa’s skills. It would be because the fight will not be PPV worthy.

Posted January 14, 2014 12:56 pm

Being on the P4P list doesn’t get you the fight with Floyd. I think Floyd just took the fight because it was his first fight back out of jail. And Guerrero did beat 2 welters and looked to be able to handle welters. And if you look at there ratings and other ratings there is really much difference except for maybe a couple of spots. Also one thing you have to remember is Floyd was the lineal champ when he went on hiatus for that 2 years also.

Posted January 14, 2014 12:30 pm

Wow. Gamboa?? a featherweight?? Really?? Rob Arum.

Posted January 14, 2014 12:23 pm

Here’s some interesting facts Peej:

The owners of GBP own The Ring Magazine. The Ring designates its own lineal champions. In 2012 The Ring rules regarding how lineal champions are determined were changed. Said rules now say that a fighter can become a lineal champion–or maintain his lineal champion title–by fighting the #1,2,3,4 or #5 contender. The Ring boosted Guerrero to the Top 10 P4P list before his fight with Mayweather. Yet, Guerrero was only the #3 ranked welterweight prior to fighting Floyd. HTF did he get on the Top 10 P4P list?

Guerrero has since been dropped from the P4P list after losing to Floyd even though Robert hasn’t fought anyone since Floyd. And presently, Guerrero is rated the #5 welterweight contender, which is even below Kell Brook and JMM who recently lost to Tim Bradley. Kell Brook hasn’t fought anyone of note except maybe Senchenko, yet the guy is rated above Guerrero. Weird, to say the least.

BTW, I bet Guerrero being elevated to the Top 10 P4P list had a lot to do with GBP wanting him there and wanting him to fight Mayweather.

Posted January 14, 2014 12:22 pm

I agree. I do know him and 50 cent have a good working relationship so it is a fight that could be made. But he needs to just try and make the Bradley rematch.

Posted January 14, 2014 12:04 pm

Peej, I agree with you. But like I said, I think Arum is just tossing around names. I mean does anyone really believe a Pacquiao/Gamboa match would be PPV worthy? I don’t.

Of course if it happens, and if Pac wins–especially if he wins in dominating fashion, Pac will be picked apart for fighting a smaller guy who was an unproven welterweight. Unlike Mayweather who was praised when he beat Marquez even though Mayweather cheated on his weight.

Posted January 14, 2014 11:59 am

Gamboa is not the mandatory for any belt at 147, Guerrero was some how.

Posted January 14, 2014 11:57 am

Using Boxtra$$wipe’s reasoning, a fight with Gamboa makes perfect sense:

Gamboa is an Interim Champ (same as Guerrero was when he fought Floyd), Pac doesn’t outweigh him by more than 20 lbs, and he is highly skilled (“skills is more important than size”).

Of course, everyone knows Boxtra$$wipe has no sense.

Posted January 14, 2014 11:56 am

Pac would demolish Gamboa. The guy is chinny. If he fights someone that stays on him with power he will be KOd. Pac KOs Gamboa inside of 4.

This would be a great fight. Gamboa is a highly skilled fighter with better skills than 90% of fighters. His career has been on and off, but trust me, he has tremendous potential and could beat just about anyone if trained properly and motivated. A Manny Pacquiao fight would be incredible.

Hi my name is manny pacquaio and I just fight the best I can, my promoter picks my fights whoever they fight i just do the best i can. Manny is such a stooge, i really don’t think he cares who he fights as long as he gets all the fame and fortune that comes along with it. He’s fight mayweather of course but he really is just leaving arum to pick who every he wants for him without a care in the world.

“Another lightweight for Manny instead of Bradley or Ruslan. ”

Guerrero had exactly TWO welterweight fights before taking on Mayweather. Guerrero moved up to the welterweight division from lightweight, but at least he fought two more fights as a welterweight before his match with Floyd.

I don’t know what weight Gamboa stepped into the ring with for his fight against Perez. That was his first fight as a lightweight and he weighed 134 at the weigh-in.

Posted January 14, 2014 9:22 am

Wow big move going up in weight for Gamboa like this. But Gamboa is a special fighter, and he turned pro late so I guess hes looking at the big money.I dont think Gamboa could pull it off really, but when the money is right and you dont have all the time in the world stuff like this happens.

Wow, Anonymous. You don’t mince words., do you? :-)

If this fight comes off, it will put the “M” in mismatch. No one is buying this when there are so many other possibilities out there for Manny including Bradley or Provodnikov. I’d even rather see a Rios rematch than this fight which proves nothing if Pac wins and will result in Gamboa being stopped at some point. Gamboa should be focused on trying to fight guys like Rigo, Donaire, and co. before he looks to jump way up in weight.
