Mayweather Mundine? It will never happen. But I said that about Khan Mayweather.

Exiled Yank

SSM is a true warrior. I hope he retires. I hate seeing finished fighters fight on. It all comes down to money though. If he has any. he’ll get out. If he’s broke, we’ll see him again.

Posted November 29, 2013 10:25 am

Im not saying he has fought all bums, Kessler, Green, Solimon, Ottke and Geale were and are great fighters, but when at this stage of a career with as many fights as he has had, it’s time to stop facing over the hill champions and ducking legitimate fights like he did with Austin Trout and instead he faced Bronco Mckart….lol…What a joke. My god what did that fight bring to the table for Mundine, he would get more respect for facing true and quality opposition even if he loses. Man up Mundine and before you call out mayweather fight and beat someone that is currently rated in the top 5 of your division.

Posted November 29, 2013 9:33 am

Mundine vs Floyd let’s see how much PPV Floyd generate with him as his opponnent.

Posted November 29, 2013 1:36 am

DMX, I’m Australian and I am definately not behind him. Maybe when he mans up and starts taking some real fights with credible opponents, maybe then I might change my mind and support him. That will never happen though cause all he wants to do is get a payday against any over the hill fighter he can find, instead of facing world class opposition. The last man was Daniel Geale and look what happened with that. He has no self belief and that is his downfall..

Why does Slater regularly hype mismatches?

Posted November 28, 2013 10:46 pm

Public Enemy

Mundine, was definately rocked harder than he thinks. The boy thinks he is a big enough name to face Mayweather just cause he beat grandpa Mosley. Try fighting Lara, Trout FIRST then maybe…..maybe…. only then.

Posted November 28, 2013 8:43 pm

both wankers.

Posted November 28, 2013 5:26 pm

No balls, you know nothing of the sport. Floyd fought Mosley how many years ago? Mundine barely hit Mosley. Mosley quit because of back spasms. And you think that is an accomplishment. Mundine gets no love in America. I could care less how much he makes a fight. Dude is garbage.

Posted November 28, 2013 4:34 pm

Get out. I’ll call out Mayweather.

Is Slater’s nickname “The Hype Man”?

Posted November 28, 2013 9:44 am

I am confused here is Mundine not a SM who got battered at his true weight vs Kessler, why is he calling out Mayweather as he has never been close to elite?

Posted November 28, 2013 6:29 am

P.S and yes there are alot of great posters on here.

Is this the same Mosley who once Alvarez beat him than got a gift vs Trout was called the 2nd coming of Jesus? Until Floyd made him look average now Alvarez is nothing? Mundine might just beat Alvarez?

Posted November 28, 2013 12:59 am

Mayweather is NOT going to fight Mundine. Talk about overvaluing yourself. Dude, you just beat a super washed up Mosley. Congrats, but slow down. There is no demand/interest for Mayweather-Mundine and there won’t be for a while. Cotto and Canelo aren’t going to fight him either. His best bet will be to go after Molina, Demetrius Andrade or the winner of Lara-Trout. Wins versus any of those tough opponents wouldn’t automatically set up a Mayweather (pipe)dream match, but it certainly would get him noticed and would make him a more viable opponent for Money May.

Posted November 27, 2013 9:47 pm

“A whole country”?? hmmmm… The only thing Mundine has behind him are probably bill collectors and the cops. LOL!!

Posted November 27, 2013 9:27 pm

Mundine has a whole Nation behind him

First Cotto
Then Canelo
Finally Mayweather

Posted November 27, 2013 8:34 pm

Anthony mundine is on crack right kids…

Posted November 27, 2013 8:33 pm

Mundine would do better then floyd against canelo then what will floyds little sack swingers say. The truth is a shot mundine would most likely embarress overrated floydie.

1) James Toney
2) Sugar Shane Mosley
3) Roy Jones Jr

Posted November 27, 2013 8:15 pm

The Prince

Mosley is way over the hill now. Does Mundine really think he’d done something special? He would’ve gotten battered against a prime Mosley. However, if people are suckers enough to get behind him, Mayweather might fit him in for an easy win and three fights to go.

Posted November 27, 2013 8:04 pm

von Pugsly

Mundine will probably take on Roy Jones, Jr. next and then move up to HW to fight James Toney. Pretty sad when your best wins come against guys a decade past their prime.

Mundine is a NOBODY he is not getting a Mayweather shot based on beating a decrepit Shane Mosley who must be something like 1-1-4 in his last 6 fights… He called out Mayweather!! Surprise Surprise its the BIGGEST payday for all these fools why not try it… Beating that version of Mosley means little….

Posted November 27, 2013 7:45 pm

Shanes an Old Man this was bound to happen, he has been done for awhile now the last man to defeat him when his name meant something was Floyd Mayweather…post Margarito the only thing we can hope for NOW is Shane retiring because this is getting BOTH embarrassing and dangerous…

Posted November 27, 2013 7:42 pm

Mundine would beat Floyd on split decision cause he throw 5 punches then runs to his corner
Comes back throws another 5 punches and runs again Mundine is lightning fast and chicken
Like defence which is very hard to hit. Floyd would trouble against this style cause he likes come forward fighters. Mundine doesn’t stand in front of you or come forward and uses his
Shoulder to protect his head hard to hit as is Floyd with his defence they sort of have the same game tho Floyd faster offensive but mundine would spread the gap further sort of a boring fight that would come to a split decision .. This fight will never happen Floyd needs
To fight PAC man, Mundine to fight cotto or alveraz.

Posted November 27, 2013 7:35 pm

I read the result and thought it had to be rigged, but then watched the fight and I’m not so sure.
Mosley looked reeeally old to me. He had that similar look to what he had late in the Mayweather and Pacquiao fights, only that he had it from the opening bell… he was the puncher in the fight but was being walked down by a guy with a reputation for being chinny.

All things considered, I was pretty impressed with Mundine. In the Geale fight he seemed too worried about getting hit to throw back with any sort of commitment, but in this fight he was more assertive and it paid off.

As for Mayweather, even mentioning his name is a joke. Mundine is nowhere near that level and I don’t actually think he believes he can get the fight anyway. For the last few years he’s been throwing around big names to sell himself, but he’s not done anything to show that he’s actually serious about it… in fact he’s done the exact opposite (i.e. ducking the guaranteed shot against Trout showed how risk-averse he is… ironically if he’d taken and won that fight, he probably would’ve gotten the call up to fight Cotto).

Posted November 27, 2013 7:29 pm

im convinced Mosley v Mundine was an absolute fix!..Mosley didnt throw any punches and let Mundine tag him all day then all of a sudden in the 6th Mosley magically gets some back spasms and retires! Mundine gets the decision on the cards!.. and Hes now shouting out the big fish! Canelo, Cano etc And saying he has beaten a top 5 fighter!!.Mosley saying he was being beaten by Mundine and that he doesnt want a rematch because Mundine was beating him easily and that he thinks mundine should go to us and fight a big name…what An obvious set up!!. But to the un educated eye and most average Australians they will believe the fasard and that mundine actually did beat a genuine top 5 fighter!.and on the other side Mosleys reputation is still in tact becauese he all of a sudden retired due to “injury” and wasnt actually beaten..they got all the angles covered! Also stinks how Mosley flew home after he didnt get the “Money” that was promised to him,and now 2 weeks later he came back to fight on a re arranged date after they obviously sorted him out with his backhand money!

Posted November 27, 2013 7:12 pm

Brandon St. Randy

If Floyd were a “G” he’d take his act to Australia and school this fool.

Posted November 27, 2013 7:05 pm

Floyd is no shane he would school him the same way he did Canelo.

Posted November 27, 2013 7:01 pm

No balls

Mundines not great but his style of fighting would expose floyd.

Posted November 27, 2013 6:59 pm

Mundine would beat Mayweather.

Posted November 27, 2013 6:56 pm

No balls

Peej shower mundine beat the same mosley easier then floyd and that hurts you because it proves how overrated the biggest hype job floyd is.

Posted November 27, 2013 6:55 pm

Does using Mudine’s nickname “The Man” in the title actually add any suspense or drama to a supposed fight against Mayweather?

Posted November 27, 2013 6:55 pm

Ray Ray

Peej-Mundine makes more than a mil in a fight in oz. He clearly isnt a gut at Floyd or Pac mans level but can b tricky 2 fight at times if fit? Could b interesting fights vs the guys under may and Manny…..B grade guys if u will. Guerrero, Ortiz, even Alvarez, not saying he’d win but he could surprise people..he’s had some decent wins in his career vs Echols, Danny Green in front of 30+ thousand, Danny Geale….been in the ring with Ottke Mikkel Kessler. Hes not much liked in Australia every1 wants 2 c him asleep once and 4 all…a decent guy in the states could do so.

Posted November 27, 2013 6:54 pm

Mundine calling out Mayweather, mmmmm KTFO by Garth Wood a reality TV show winner, beats a taxi driver by day and tomato can by night fighter in Bronko McCart , gets schooled for 12 rounds by Geale followed up by going 6 rounds with a trigger shy Shane Mosely that retires hurt.

Yes he deserves a shot a Mayweather.

Posted November 27, 2013 6:47 pm

BOXTRA ahhh… Then you DIDN’T KNOW that the Shane that entered the ring vs Floyd was already a deteriorated fighter?? He was shot and tired after only two rounds. The Floyd vs Mosley fight was a non-action borefest which NOBODY would want to watch it again. It’s NEVER replayed ANYWHERE. A glorified sparring session, no more, no less. Used to see better fights EVERYDAY from my South Bronx window overlooking the school yard. Please don’t refer to the Margarito fight, you’ll only make yourself look bad. Anyway… later!

Posted November 27, 2013 6:29 pm

Sadly, this was one of my easiest predictions, not because of how good Mundine is, but basically because of what Shane no longer is.

Posted November 27, 2013 6:10 pm

Well he had a mil against Guerrero. But nobody wants Mundine to get that type of payday. And not many people would care to see that fight anyways. Mundine gets no love in America.

Posted November 27, 2013 5:40 pm

Mundine should fight Floyd Money Mayweather and see how much PPV buys that will get Floyd. Without a good partner, Floyd can’t draw much in terms of PPV buys.

Posted November 27, 2013 5:38 pm

Prof Konje

It’s very sad when a fighter keeps going when past his best years. It happened to so many. Sugar Shane never quit in his life so it’s no disgrace for him not to continue at the age of 42. Keep it in perspective. Mosley was among the best at one time and provided plenty of entertainment. Hopefully he retires now before he gets injured.

Posted November 27, 2013 5:12 pm

Not that impressive. Floyd had already beaten the SKILLS out of Mosley 4 YEARS ago.

Posted November 27, 2013 5:05 pm

f@k of Anonymous and stop writing under peejs name you moron

Posted November 27, 2013 4:44 pm

CAN’T REMEMBER THE last time Mundine scored a stoppage victory, which puts into context how much the 40+ SUGAR has slipped. TBH Sugar should have hung em up after being embarrassed by THE SNAKE, MORA…..

To think he nearly faced off against AMIR KHAN….. He would have been embarrassed and stopped by Khan and we would never have heard the last of that.

Only thing now is to see if Sugar has enough grey matter between his ears to hang em up or if he does a Roy Jones Jr, and continues to embarrass himself and boxing on the daily by continuing to fight.

Posted November 27, 2013 4:36 pm

Not something he should want to be remembered for. I stopped Mosley because he was in too much pain because of his back so he couldn’t continue but I stopped him. lol.

Posted November 27, 2013 4:27 pm

Mundine will always be remembered as the guy who was winning by a country mile and got KTFO unconscious by the feather-fisted Ottke with one punch to the ear.

Posted November 27, 2013 3:34 pm

funny how mosley jones jr and the rest of the american ped cheats are called a.t.g.

Posted November 27, 2013 3:29 pm

Mundine actually had fights going to purse bids vs Golovkin & Trout a couple of years ago.
He said they weren`t big names and didnt turn up to the bids.

We know why. He knows why.

Posted November 27, 2013 3:15 pm

Weather you are a fan of mundine or not , history will remember him as only fighter to stop Mosley . Some calling the fight a farce , a farce was danny green vs paul briggs fight . Congrats Mosley on a great career if this indeed is the end .

Posted November 27, 2013 3:15 pm

Floyd fights like a wuzzy a real man is a warrior and floyd is a crissy girl. Weak

Posted November 27, 2013 2:44 pm

jin mosley still collecting checks. shane is salt not sugar.

Posted November 27, 2013 1:03 pm

He is not getting a fight with Floyd, this dude is garbage. Beating up an old Mosley means nothing.

Posted November 27, 2013 12:30 pm

Never feel sorry for someone thats blown millions, especially if some of it was earned on steroids. If he makes 15mil and gives his ex-wife half then only an idiot blows 7.5mil. Normal people don’t have his earning power.

Posted November 27, 2013 12:27 pm

Mundine could not draw flies to a pile of manure. Calling out Mayweather laughable.

Posted November 27, 2013 12:24 pm

No more mosley focus on your son

Posted November 27, 2013 12:18 pm

I’ve met Mosley numerous times, I’m also from Pomona, I’ve had several conversations with him and he’s truly a GREAT guy, I feel bad for him…yet another fighter forced to fight on longer than he should’ve due to financial stress. Hopefully he saved himself some coin. Good luck in your retirement champ.

Posted November 27, 2013 12:14 pm

Mundine says Mosely is top 5 p4p in the last century. Who does he have in mind from the 18 hundreds that was better? Anyway, he’s wrong. Ali, Robinson, Hearns, Hagler, Leonard, Duran, Mayweather, Pac, Jones Jr, I’m not even trying here.

Posted November 27, 2013 11:31 am

slim prickman

sugar ped mosley fu#k off.

Posted November 27, 2013 11:28 am

Which guy said he was going to empty his bank account backing Mosley? I wonder if he had to sell his computer for food? +130 on Mundine was the play.

Posted November 27, 2013 11:23 am

Mundine is a pretender and anyone that knows anything about his past and the way he carries on isn’t surprised by anything he does. He doesn’t deserve a fight with PBF until he fights and defeats at least 2 or 3 of the top rated challengers beforehand. Why not line up a fight with someone rated in the top 5 of the division??…Ohh that’s right they are not old and aged champions who are on there last legs. They are fresh and hungry and pose to great a threat to the so called ‘Man’. Wake up Mundine and fight a credible opponent before you start calling out Floyd.

Posted November 27, 2013 11:22 am

Mosely should of stayed retired

Posted November 27, 2013 10:52 am

Still, if you are Australian
it was nice to see Blake Ferguson get battered after giving it the big man at the Weigh In

Posted November 27, 2013 10:10 am

Mosley complained and quit from a sore back. This is what happens when a fighter is only in it for the money and a younger SMW overpowers an old Welterweight. Absolute joke from all parties.

Posted November 27, 2013 9:43 am

Mundine certainly wanted it more
But for the crowd in attendance another smack in the face for Australian Boxing
Big fan of Mosely, he is a future Hall of Fame fighter
Retire and enjoy your life Champ
