Boxing barlow… Spot on fellaPosted November 23, 2013 6:07 pm
And Calzaghe would have ate him alive. It would have been a jeff lacey style beat down imo. If you look at tbe first half of the Taylor Froch fight Froch was getting a serious beating and Calzaghe would have done this to froch and a little more, but unlike Taylor he would have not have gassed out.Posted November 23, 2013 1:13 pm
Froch is a great fighter but does no favors suggesting he is the best uk super middleweight of all time. Calzaghe was maybe even 2 levels above. And whilst he has fought a good level of opposition Ward outclassed him, so did dirrell but threw it away by being too negative, so did Taylor before he gassed out, Kessler at his peak actually beat Froch at his own game! A peak Eubank and Collins would have been to skilled and durable enough to aviod Froch knocking them out and would have got decisions against him imo. When you look at Froch’s poor defense you would have to wonder if he could have withstood Benns bombs. That would have been a hard fight to pick but 50/50 either fighter would be ko’d.Posted November 23, 2013 1:10 pm
HOL, CARL IS the real deal, but I agree with you 100% about EDDIE HEARN…
What is it about boxing and British Promoters???
I grew up in the era of DUFF, LAWLESS, BARRETT & ASTAIRE who tried to have all the cake and then W@RREN deposed them and tried to grab all the cake and now HEARN is the new kid on the block trying to take all the cake….
By taking all the cake, I mean trying to pull the ladder up behind them….Posted November 23, 2013 9:03 am
I think is is actually a bit mismatch and no more of a challenge than Mack wqs for Froch. The only reason this fights getting the media attention is that fact its an all brit encounter. I actually think British boxing is getting worse. They talk about generations but for me Froch was a big step down from Calzaghe and now Groves and DeGale are a big step down from Froch.Posted November 23, 2013 6:37 am
Groves will be in trouble by the end of round 1 and if Froch hadn’t said he wanted to drag it out a bit to punish groves my money would be on a 2nd round TKO. Due to Froch’ saying that I see a 6th round KO.Posted November 23, 2013 6:10 am
Froch is going to light tattoo boy up. BTW, are those Pokeman tattoos?Posted November 23, 2013 12:49 am
LOL.Posted November 22, 2013 8:10 pm
Groves won that face off…Posted November 22, 2013 7:03 pm
Froch’s two year media push has got him the recognition he has earned as a top fighter, but his personality is one of a man who has listend to eddie Hearn blowing smoke up his arse that much he talks and acts like he’s a ATG who is beyond any criticism about anything,Ward whooped him and would do so again, kesstler beat him first time around both the Dirrell and Taylor fights could have gone either way, some might call groves disrespectfull, then again some might say Froch has got the hump coz groves is telling it like it is,Froch is a good fighter but not the ATG the yes men are making out.Posted November 22, 2013 6:38 pm
And all those big and young lads let the old little man carry the big weight machine!Posted November 22, 2013 5:39 pm
Froch is in his element, after so many tough fights he is due an easy one.
I hope Hearns can put together a GGG fight or a unification for next year.Posted November 22, 2013 5:27 pm
Groves looked too skinny and dehydrated frochy looked goodPosted November 22, 2013 4:32 pm
Lefthook..I was thinking the same thing. Those toothpicks have knocked out many a hard tough manPosted November 22, 2013 4:12 pm
DOES ANYONE KNOW if St. Groves wore his salmon, pink trousers to the weight in?
I think Groves is a good fighter and should have targeted STIEGLITZ and then FROCH…If FROCH takes Groves seriously, then FROCH bangs him out, but I think Groves is banking on Carl being distracted and stealing a decision.
I personally want CARL to smash GEORGE to bits for the way he’s gone about this. THere’s a way to say things, but to rubbish TAYLOR (who beat B-HOP twice, and actually forced B-Hop into 2 of his best in-ring performances for years), PASCAL, KESSLER, ROAD WARRIOR, BUTE ABRAHAM, etc, is downright disgraceful.
When GEORGE has a similar resume he can look down his nose all he wants, but for now I’ m looking at his long, skinny neck, atop his long skinny body and wondering exactly what sound it is going to make when CARL snaps it off his shoulders!!!!!!!Posted November 22, 2013 4:06 pm
Froch don’t want anymore of Ward he knows what time it is.Ward holds the crown in this division and they all know it,but they want him to go cross the pond to get robbed, get out of here just rematch him here in the states where boxing is the mecca the fight wasn’t even close to call for a different atmosphere the fix would be in before ward reached the airport…..yezzzir!Posted November 22, 2013 2:54 pm
Groves demeanor and body language may not be convincing but this fight is a lot closer than most people think it is. Groves in my opinion poses a lot for threat to Froch for sheer speed and just like Dirrell Froch will struggle. Unless Groves chin is as weak as most people claim it to be , it’s a close decision for Groves bar robbery.Posted November 22, 2013 2:04 pm
Cmorgan,, those tooth picks will kill you stone dead lolPosted November 22, 2013 1:57 pm
Groves looked much thicker and bigger at the weigh – in, Froch looks really spindly with toothpicks for arms and legs.Posted November 22, 2013 1:54 pm
Groves looks lost, I actually feel sorry for him. What a disgrace that he’s basically all alone here for a fight of this magnitude. Crazy stuff, I mean a win over Froch n your on your way big time.Posted November 22, 2013 1:53 pm
Veritas,,, Put the bottle down your going madPosted November 22, 2013 1:51 pm
GO ON FROCHYPosted November 22, 2013 1:30 pm
Lol, Froch is making millions for this fight. Ppv and 20,000 sellout in 11 minutes. how much did Ward make last time out?Posted November 22, 2013 1:12 pm
WARD SCHOOLED FROCH, WHO CARES ABOUT THIS FIGHTPosted November 22, 2013 12:54 pm
hmmm. I dunno. There’s somethin of the quiet assassin about Groves and it might JUST be the right time to get Froch in the ring.
Don;t care how granite jawed a fighter is when you’ve been in war after war that’s gonna take a toll. I really can;t pick this. My heart says Frochy cos he’s been great value over the years but my head says Groves.Posted November 22, 2013 12:43 pm
go frochPosted November 22, 2013 12:18 pm
Froch wins rd6Posted November 22, 2013 12:12 pm
Groves doing his best to try not be intimadated but couldn’t pull it off. Froch is a man who knows the result already. Gingers never win at sport. Bar Canelo how many gingers are champs? especially balding gingers. I mean seriously!
No booth to tell him stick to a plan. This is the easiest fight to ever predict. The people who think Groves no nothing about the sport it is that simple..George is delsuional and reality hits SaturdayPosted November 22, 2013 12:07 pm
One-dimensional my arse ….. what you talking about. If he was one dimensional he would of easily out-boxed Arthur Abraham, out-slugged Kessler, or annihilated Bute. He can box or brawl.Posted November 22, 2013 11:59 am
i like Groves demeanor, he ain’t afraid.Posted November 22, 2013 11:58 am
Groves by late stoppage or wide decision.
Froch is one dimensional, Groves isn’t.
Skills count and Groves has more than Froch.Posted November 22, 2013 11:42 am
They both looked good. Seems like both made weight easily. I like the way Groves was looking at Froch. But at the end I’ll take Froch by TKO. Hoping Groves wins though so Ward can get rid of another contenderPosted November 22, 2013 11:30 am
agreed groves takes this one.Posted November 22, 2013 11:23 am
The look of groves seriously deceives people, he looks like a little boy, but I am telling you he is a mad man and a great boxer, very slick and moves. Carl has never looked great against a good boxer, the belts are changing hands, Froch maybe tough but can only land when someone is standing still. Come on Georgie…..this is your time.Posted November 22, 2013 11:21 am
GONZO OF NAZARETH
Froch looks drained and weak. Looks like a labour camp victim. I see groves knocking him out nowPosted November 22, 2013 11:17 am
Haven’t been able to watch the video due to being at work but from the photo’s that have been tweeted it looks like Froch is giving to Groves both barrels again while Groves tries not to look intimidated. Froch’s dominance will continue into the fight and Groves will take a pasting once Froch gets his measure. I was thinking a mid – late stoppage for Froch but now I think Carl could end it anytime once he connects!!Posted November 22, 2013 11:12 am
Cant wait for this fight. I hope their styles jell well.Posted November 22, 2013 10:56 am
did someone say that useless prick haye was at the weighin, thought he was havin an open toe op.Posted November 22, 2013 10:47 am
Breath king is getting knocked clean outPosted November 22, 2013 10:40 am
I know little abt Groves apart from a couple of youtube vids, and based on what I saw, he will get molested once his runs out of steam.Posted November 22, 2013 10:02 am
Moneys already on a Froch win – has been since this fight was announced. Groves is still a pretty decent boxer, just hope Froch doesn’t do a complete number on him as Groves is still young enough to have a great future in the sport.Posted November 22, 2013 10:01 am
Come on Carl!Posted November 22, 2013 9:47 am
