I guess Vit bribed Kirk Johnson to injure himself and doctors to verify it. The fact is, Vitali got less than 2 weeks notice for a title fight.Posted October 21, 2013 1:58 pm
Vitali himself said he trained a year for the fight. He bribed his way into it and tried to catch lewis in bad condition. The man himself admitted this.Posted October 20, 2013 5:09 pm
Ok turbo we know they both knew they will fight on that date so it would be fair not to hear a “Lewis” spin ” he was out of shape “bs one difference is that Lewis was fighting was preparing for a TITLE defense and klitchko was training for a fight with Boswell …Posted October 20, 2013 4:16 am

LMAO.., Like when Lewis turned down his largest payday with Vitali continously calling him out… Lewis knew Vitali was winning on all scorecards when the fight was stopped—and in the rematch Vitali would have months to train—not 2 weeks… So Lewis reneged on his promise to fight Vitali again—and frequently says he’s coming back to fight VK for publicity stunts.
Lewis NEVER cut an opponent like that in his life before… Vitali was NEVER in danger of losing any fight on cuts before or since… VK is not a bleeder… Those cuts were caused by illegal contact… Lewis would not have the services of referee Lou Moret in a rematch.Posted October 19, 2013 6:04 pm

Ali couldn’t KO a featherweight right now… He couldn’t KO his wife.
Ali couldn’t KO anybody in his last 7 fights.. He couldn’t KO Leon Spinks or Alfredo Evangelista.. Lots of heavyweights KO’d China-chinned Ken Norton.. Ali couldn’t floor Kenny with his best shots.. Ali wasn’t a puncher … Wladimir is a puncher.
At 37 Wladimir beat an Olympic Heavyweight Champion who was 27-0 as a professional.. At 36 Ali lost to an Olympic Light Heavyweight Champion who was 6-0-1 as a professional — and later got trounced by every other top heavyweight he fought.Posted October 19, 2013 1:57 am

For instance you keep reffering to him as the ” russian John Ruiz ” when every child , all over the world that he is Ukrainian , and NOT russian ! You can also play with yourself , imagining , and mentally masturbating about how former ” legends ” like ; Forman , Shavers , Lyle , whoever , would even have a chance against Wlad , when again , it has as much in common with reality as , you imagining that you actually know ANYTHING

Also I didn’t say Wlad is the best heavyweight ever. My list is 1. Ali 2. Louis 3. Marciano. 4. Johnson. Wlad is wait and see, as is any boxer who’s not yet retired.Posted October 18, 2013 8:14 pm

klitco floored povetkin with pushes, shoves, forearms. very few clean punches. whatever punches were thrown looked robotic and unnatural. the ufc is huge because of the klitcos.Posted October 18, 2013 7:29 pm
Wladimir floored Povetkin 4 times… Povetkin has never been floored before in winning many Gold Medals in the Olympics and other international Amateur competitions. He had never been floored in an undefeated professional career until he me Wladimir.
Wladimir beat Povetkin 119-104 on all cards… The easiest fight to score in the history of Boxing. From that you might have thought it was a masterful performance … It wasn’t.
Because of all the dire warnings of fighting in Russia, and not wanting to repeat the Lamon Brewster disaster, Wladimir and Vitali were super cautious about trickery from the officials and sundry scalawags. They were super focused on winning and gettng out of Moscow with the title at all costs … and not focused enough on putting on a great performance.Posted October 18, 2013 6:42 pm

To K2Fan and Anonymous and all the other Klitschko apologists …
I want to say this and I am 1000% serious:
– If George Foreman came out of retirement TODAY — at age 64 — George Foreman would knockout Wladimir Klitschko.
I want to say the following and I am only 50% serious:
– If Ernie Shavers came out of retirement TODAY — at ag 68 — Ernie Shavers would give Wladimir Klitschko trouble. Klitschko would win but only because Ernie Shavers is too short at 6’0″.
I want to say the following and I am not serious:
– If Ron Lyle came back from the dead TODAY — and he has only been dead for 1 year or so — Ron Lyle would give Wladimir Klitschko trouble. Klitschko would win but only because it would be easier to lean on a dead guy.
I am serious when I say, 6’4″ 250 pound George Foreman would knockout Klitschko — even today. It would not be close. Klitschko has shown in the way he fought Povetkin that he cannot and does not want to take a serious punch. George Foreman would knockout Klitschko — EVEN TODAY. Klitschko could not take even one good punch from a 64 year old George Foreman. NOT EVEN ONE PUNCH.Posted October 18, 2013 6:35 pm

I just want to be clear because you are REALLY SMART and you know a lot about boxing.
So, you are saying that Wladimir Klitshko (aka Russian John Ruiz) looked great? That is what you are saying?
OK, because I don’t think anybody else on planet earth agrees with you.

Please clarify — because again I don’t think anybody else on planet earth agrees with you.Posted October 18, 2013 5:29 pm
For a longstanding champion who grabs and is limited, Wlad is nearing all-time records for successful title defenses as well as KOs and KO%. Tell us who has a higher KO% in heavyweight history. Then tell us how grabbing people somehow KOs them.Posted October 18, 2013 5:10 pm

What’s all the fuss about…. it’s not like Wlad has not done his holding and leaning on before… He did it his holding and pushing in his fight with Haye. The only difference is Haye was not going to be leaned so his energy levels would be depleted. I can only state that Wlad’s tactics are not boxing nor are they sporting…. furthermore is I wanted to watch a holding competition…… I would turn in to UFC as at least they try to hurt each other when holding!!Posted October 18, 2013 5:00 am

Vitali Klitschko is the best heavyweight in the world today. Vlad is second. Vlad could have knocked Povetkin out at any time. Vlad knocked Povetkin down with a hook of the jab, had him hurt. Vlad also had Povetkin with inside fighting which he can do. He knocked Povetkin down 4 times and should have finished him, but instead he let off the pressure. Povetkin was finished, but Vlad did not go after him. Make no mistake, Vlad can box, punch, inside of outside.
Wilder’s people are waiting for Vitali to retire, then “GIVE” the title to Wilder without him fighting anyone in the top 20. Perhaps they will make Sconiers #2 WBC then have Wilder fight him. Wilder will then never fight anyone who can fight. How did Wilder get ranked #3 by the WBC without fighting anyone it the top 30?! Or 40/50! I am very disappointed in Oscar cheating the boxing fans………..Posted October 18, 2013 12:16 am
I am hyped for that Mago-Perez fight. Very very interesting chance to see if Mago’s power will translate to KO’s against a decent operator. Very interesting.
I`m actually leaning towards Perez UD’ing him in a fight where Perez gets wobbled a few times but clean sweeps the late rounds in a fight that elevates him without being quite exciting enough to stamp him as an immediate contender.Posted October 18, 2013 12:08 am
Maybe David Haye could grow some balls and not run allnight in a second fight, lol. Really it would just be another payday for David Haye where he plays it safe the whole fight and loses a boring fight. Is Haye the best one out their right now? What happen to george foremans son that was fighting, guess he turned out to be a flop, oh well that would have been cool if he panned out.Posted October 17, 2013 9:59 pm
The only way you are going to give any of the Klits any challenge is if you either have a big skilled fighter who is accustomed to fighting big or a small heavy like a Mike Tyson who was accustomed to fighting guys who were a lot bigger than him. Pre-Don King Tyson came in with head movement, body shots and vicious upper cuts. It was very difficult to land a jab on that guy. And when he got on the inside he did something that seems to be unheard of with these out of shape cruisers who fat themselves into the heavyweight division: He let his hands go and punched when he got inside! Most of these heavies today are clearly out of shape. Maybe it comes from the shift from 15 rounds to the 12 round training. They seem to think they can get a paycheck, waddle their way around the ring and maybe get a lucky punch in. If anything, Povetkin should be mad at himself for not coming in shape enough to have the head movement and work while he was inside.Posted October 17, 2013 9:17 pm

Did Sergei Liakhovich have a pulse? He beat a prime Lamon Brewster.

Note to the promoter.
I have Wladimir Klitschko’s next opponent:
– John Ruiz.
Yes. Let’s all watch that fight. Because we all know what crowd pleaser John Ruiz was for the fans.
The boxing community should simply take to call Wladimir Klitschko, the “Russian John Ruiz.”
Klitschko should move to Massachusetts.Posted October 17, 2013 6:47 pm

“very unhappy that this happening”
You know what I am unhappy about.
Why Wladimir Klitschko is so big yet so GUTLESS?
After all these years, is Wladimir Klitschko still so conscious of his weak chin, that he has to fight so gutless. The fight was a travesty.
Wladimir Klitschko and the promoter deserve every bit bad publicity.
Klitschko gets the win — but so what. Professional boxing is for boxers who can draw a crowd. Nobody. Nobody. Nobody. Nobody wants to see a performance and a fight that Wladimir Klitschko put on. It was a joke. It was an embarassment.
If the Klitschko’s want to keep fighting — people should stop watching. It is a total joke.Posted October 17, 2013 6:45 pm
onetruefan.., That’s not going to happen screwball. Wilder will be around for many years to come. He may or may not fight Wladimir.
He may fight Pulev. He may fight Fury. He may fight Jennings. He may fight Haye. There’s going to be a few titles around once the K Bros exit the scene … and he’s good enough to grab one.
He’s going to fight somebody for the title in the next 3 years. He’s going to win a heavyweight title at some point. He’s a future Heavyweight Champion. That’s almost guaranteed unless he gets thrown in the clinck like Ibeabuchi.Posted October 17, 2013 6:41 pm

The answer is ANDY RUIZ JR.!!!! Now, two years from now, whenever – the answer is Andy Ruiz Jr.Posted October 17, 2013 4:48 pm
They’ve been trying to match Povetkin and Klitschko for several years. It was more a bad styles matchup than a cherry picked opponent. Povetkin’s fights with Huck and Chagaev were interesting. This fight was not as entertaining, because of the excessive holding.
I blame the referee for not reminding the combatants, “This is supposed to be a boxing match and not a hug fest fellas. You two are stinking the whole arena out the way you’re going. No holding please.”Posted October 17, 2013 4:26 pm
maybe if modern fighters weren’t allowed to CHERRY-PICK their own opponents, there may actually be some decent fights … but, that won’t happen, as their only interests are to see how long they can drag out the length of their ‘championships’ … notice I didn’t capitalize the ‘c’ in championships …Posted October 17, 2013 4:01 pm

Shaposhnikov says.., “Mike Tyson used to tune the boxing public to believe that the fight was never going to be competitive.”
I thought Tyson’s fights with Tucker and Douglas were going to be competitive… I didn’t think they’d beat Mike.
I thought Holyfield and Lewis were going to knock Tyson out. They were one HELL of a lot better than Tucker and Douglas.
Now if Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder fight Wladimir. Those fights will set your hair on fire.
Granted, Wilder needs to get a couple of Arreola or Jennings type fights to round out his skills before he goes in with Wladimir. It’s possible Golden Boy will shell out the millions to put those fights together. They won’t be made without a stiff investment. Oscar needs to put his money where his mouth is.
