Dying Queen, EASILY one of the dumbest posters on ESB along with Bears feels like GGG can easily make 154 where he does NOT fight but Canelo cannot make 152 when he fights at 154? Do we really think this guy would give Mayweather any cred if he beat GGG at 154, when he’s already making excuses for Canelo dropping a measly 1.5 pounds… Preposterous besides GGG should focus on trying to be a force at MW, Sergio, Chavez Jr, Martin Murray Darren Barker… This is real boxing instead the Queens lips are on Floyds shaft trying to line up a bout with a MW…

Proud European

FMJ is not the GOAT or even the greatest of his generation!

Posted September 14, 2013 5:55 pm

Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. The Lion King of Beat Street)

3G can easily make 154lbs, but there’s no way in H3ll that Floyd will fight him if he happens to get past Canelo. Because he knows that 3G will KTFO of him and leave him limp like rag-doll, stretched out on the canvas.

This is precisely why FMJ is not the GOAT or even the greatest of his generation. Because he has a record of avoiding the most dangerous guys in the world. Ducked PacMan at 147lbs, then ducked Maravilla at 154lbs, and will now duck 3G at 154lbs. FMJ probably won’t even defend all his 154lbs titles/straps like a REAL Champion — if he wins tonight,

He’ll more than likely VACATE all his 154lbs titles like a little b*tch because he doesn’t want to fight other top Jr. MWs like Lara, Kirkland, Perro, Vanes, etc. 3G can definitely make 154lbs, but FMJ won’t agree to fight him in a million years. That’s because 3G is an all-around BETTER boxer than FMJ and would give him the most brutal beat down of his lifetime. Real talk.

Tomato Can I actually like Molina despite his lack of a KO punch. Decent boxer, hard worker, always an honest full bore effort. Hope he wins and the fight isn’t a snorebore. But that Smith is one of the most boring boxers on the planet. His whole game his making his opponent look like shiat. They should throw him in with GGG so he can blow his wheels off for good.

Posted September 14, 2013 3:57 pm

PE coronas on ice …I’m goin with Mayweather on this one but would be nice if Canelo wins…

Posted September 14, 2013 3:16 pm

Yuri if he would fight anybody at 154 then why did he fight Rosado at 160? Why has he never in his pro career ever made 154? Saing he can make it and actually making it are 2 different things. And like I have said many times before. There is more money at 154 than 160 and if he could make it he would of already been fighting there

Posted September 14, 2013 3:10 pm

No need to fight ggg. A man only go so high in weight. Floyd’s max is 154 . Hagler stayed at mwt all his career 168 nonexistant and lhwt just too much

Posted September 14, 2013 2:37 pm

PEEJ – Golovkin said he fight anyone at 154! So Floyd can fight him but he will run away you see. And Martinez beats Golovkin? Very funny. British boy Murray beat Martinez and robbed in fight whole world know that. Murray good fighter strong and brave but America have no respect for him. Golovkin have more trouble with Murray than Martinez. Golovkin destroy Martinez inside 6 rounds! All Russia know this. Golovkin beat anyone from 154-168. Golovkin best in world.

Fighting Words

I think this is what the Mayweather camp is beating on.

Posted September 14, 2013 1:44 pm

Golovkin is not even the proven BEST MW in the World so lets cease the comedy… He has been beating guys with no names and guys coming up from 154 ie Rosado…His best win was Macklin who Martinez first knocked out and has NOW lost 2 of 3… I like GGG but he is still proving himself and calling out WW’s is NOT gonna establish him as a Great MW.. Golovkin could get hit by a bus and few outside of hardcore fans would notice because he has not really built his name as of yet… If he wants more cache on the World Stage he should fight Chavez Jr who’s name is out there and did big numbers with the TRUE MW Champion Sergio Martinez who is healing at this point… AGAIN ALL ROADS LEAD TO FLOYD MAYWEATHER! Even for 160 pound guys looking to become someone thats SAD for GGG….

Posted September 14, 2013 1:12 pm

They KNOW that nobody at Floyds true weight class of 147 stands a chance and trying to sell a 160 pounder is the ONLY way they can hope to see FMJ on his back or losing despite his career beginning at 130 pounds… These DOGS are NOT boxing fans they are enamored with the prospect of the Mayweather freight train being derailed… They set up these arbitrary hoops that will ONLY get changed later ie “I will respect him if he beats GGG” that will become “I will respect him if he beats Andre Ward” that will become “I will respect him if he beats Hopkins” and “I will respect Hopkins if he beats Klitschko”…. And so ON….

Posted September 14, 2013 1:08 pm

Yuri you do know that there are weight classes in boxing right? You also should know that GGG fights 2 weight classes above Floyd. He is too big. What if he did fight GGG and beat him. What would you say after, he is to scared to fight Ward?

Yeah I though Trought won by a round. Problem is when your at the fight you only get to see one angle. When your watching it at home there are multiple angles. Canelo went defensive once he heard the scores after 4 rounds and being aggressive is not something Trout is used to

Gray- I didnt turn off no volume on my TV because I was there watching it live. To this day its amusing to hear u chumps and all ur excuses. Canelo won clearly. Trout jab and jab and missed. None of his punches landed on Canelo. Canelo made Trout do the famous chicken dance and fell flat on his ass. Or did you not see that with the volume off?

Posted September 14, 2013 9:53 am

i reckon canelo is weighing around 168 already

Posted September 14, 2013 9:24 am

Yeah when people say he should fight GGG they are just haters. If he fought GGG and beat him, they would say he was a coward because he won’t fight Ward. The hate will never end for the greatest fighter of his generation

Exciting match up but no fight of the century. Its all about hype and a multi million dollar promotion. However I hope we see a changing of the guard, just like when we saw Oscar dethrone Chavez (1996), Floyd beat Oscar (2007) and maybe now, Canelo defeats Floyd (2013). Love boxing and one thing I know from watching it for over 20 years, no-one is invincible. (Tokyo 1990)

LiveWire9 you seem to forget that Canelo has a date in court himself for beating up a Flyweight boxer for no reason a while back, or has that been HUSHED up to protect his goodie-goodie image. Canelos is also a thug or should I say bully in disguise.

@david d.~ Floyd fighting twice in one years time may be an advantage. If you stop and think about it, how sharp did Floyd look after his long lay off against Guerreo? Do you really think Floyd isn’t going to be as sharp or sharper in this fight? The only thing that keeps Floyd from putting on another master class performance is father time. If time doesn’t catch up to him, Canelo surely can’t.

Hay……Finely…no one has told me I’m posting to fast…ESB must have a new office cleaner…

Posted September 14, 2013 3:34 am

I’d like to see Canelo fight unusual on this one, just keep throwing anywhere punches, arms, shoulders, sides, top of the head and when clinched lean all over Floyd until pushed off,get up close and listen to that old man wheezing.Make him suddenly hate boxing, trip in to him and wind him up like a second hand clock…..Floyd’s the best at timing an opponent and he will be a nightmare and you are getting timed from round one……Apart from that, my only other bit of advice is ….throw your stool at him..

Lucas over Danny by KO inside 12 or a wide UD. The fight of the night, though I see Danny giving a very good account of himself.

Posted September 14, 2013 2:26 am

If Canelo doesn’t get Floyd hurt early, the fight is over as there is no credible way he does it in the later rounds. This is going to be a boxing match as Floyd would be to cautious to constantly engage Canelo. This is all about how much risk Floyd is willing to take, if Canelo forces the fight he won’t have anything left in the tank in the championship rounds. Canelo will take his time in the first few rounds thereby allowing Floyd to wins most of them, he then apply some pressure and takes the middle rounds probably hurting Floyd in the process. Floyd then adjusts and takes Canelo into deep water, he won’t drown him but he will drain him thus giving himself a close UD or SD if a judge likes Canelo’s power. Enjoy the fight.

Tomato Can

Smith weighed in at 151.5 looks like he over trained. Not only that, it’s gotta be hard to for Smith, training at the same time as Mayweather. I think Molina has this fight in the bag…

BG Boxing

I can’t wait for this fight! I should say fight card because it is the best PPV card from top to bottom in 20ys. I hope Canelo can keep his emotions in check because it doesnt get any bigger than this. I look for him to make his move in the third round after the nerves die down with a couple of punches landed he can get his left hooks to the body landing and he will be in business.

Posted September 14, 2013 2:11 am

Tomato Can

I’m interested in Molina/Smith. Sure it’ll be an ugly fight, but what’s not to like about a fight where you have a first time title defender against a guy who has been deserving a title shot for a long time now. I think Molina will win it, via an ugly SD.

Posted September 14, 2013 2:09 am

Tomato Can

This fight could be the beginning of the end for Mayweather. He could prove me wrong, but I never thought he should be fighting above 147. Him weighing in at 150-1/2 pounds kind of proves that. Which is why this fight was set up as a catch weight fight. The kid is going to rehydrate fine. The first 6 rounds will be the most crucial of the fight. If Canelo can inflict damage early he’ll have enough to get through the later rounds. If the usual happens and the pace is set by Mayweather, from the get go Canelo will lose by a large margin. I think the Canelo will take at least 4 of the first 6 rounds. The second half of the fight is where things will change in Mayweather’s favor, if he doesn’t take damage or sustain an injury.

Posted September 14, 2013 2:06 am

The night will start with Garcia-Matthysse… That will get everyone amped up to see the Fight of the Century.

Instead they’ll see a boxing match where Floyd barely crosses the finish line.

Clownweather believing his own hype… Mark it ladies n gentleman Carnell by 6 round k.o!

Posted September 14, 2013 12:16 am

All the pressure is on FMJ like never before….it has been at least ten years since he has fought six months apart rather than two years apart. And eventhough he won masterfully in his last bout, he used his legs more than he has in a long time. all 12 rounds. Canelo made the 152lb catchweight and Floyd has been on a very strict diet to maintain under 150lbs. Both of the aforementioned points can take an added toll on an aged fighter, changing his formula this late in his career.

Simply, my prediction: Canelo makes FMJ come to him and counters with quick hard shots to the body head. Canelo wins UD 12 rounds!

Posted September 14, 2013 12:15 am

I have a lot if respect for Floyd’s talent and said would never bet against him. However feel he will get Tko for this fight. Canelo looks all business, I was laughing when Canelo would not share the belt for promo.

catchweights don’t ever contribute to the competitiveness of a matchup. they’re marketing and promotional gimmicks. nothing more. i was never eager for this matchup to happen and certainly not under compromising conditions. even an incremental but additional advantage is more than Floyd needed to win this fight and Canelo could hardly spare it. consequently, Canelo will have to be at least 2 lbs greater than some already believe he is to overcome Mayweather and potential dehydration. two very real challenges that can either cement or undo Canelo’s greatness . . . Viva Canelo!

spartacus 65: Hey what’s up, campeon? I have been sick as a dog for the past week and am just now getting over this nasty cold — right in time for the BIG Fight Night tomorrow.

It’s crazy to hear all that buzz and chaos surrounding this fight is going on at your job. Like you, I’m also picking Canelo to win this fight, but think he will get ROBBED on the cards unless he can manage to stop FMJ.

Just think about it. It’s Floyd’s hometown and home country and he practically owns half of Vegas. FMJ has a tremendous amount of influence in that city, so I really wanted to see this fight held in neutral territory without any judges from the U.S. or Mexico. But FMJ always seem to get his way, so I suppose that would’ve been too much to ask. Anyway, enjoy the BIG Fight Night tomorrow, brother, and take care of yourself. Peace…
