Way too much hype for this fight. It has potential to be a great fight if both fighters comply, but that rarely ever happens. Boxing will rejuvenate if Canelo Alvarez wins legitimately. A knockout would be great or a hard fought well deserved decision over Mayweather would elevate the excitement of boxing. The New young hungry Lion puts an end to a good fighter’s career. Mayweather is a very good athletic fighter, but he’s far from being great. Questionable opposition as well as questionable wins (Castillo & De La Hoya) have tainted his record IMO and the opinions of millions. His bad boy image purposefully or not has left a sour taste among sports fans. You’ll never see Floyd invited to the White House to meet President Obama. You’ll never see Mayweather on TV doing commercials, make movies, sing hit songs or write policies pertaining to people in this country. Why you ask? because he has ruined his image in the eyes of decent people throughout the world. We all know his history, which is shameful. On the other hand, when we look for role models that are great fighters such as Manny Pacquiao. This humble respectful eloquent, peaceful, honorable fighter has been invited and did meet President Obama. Manny Pacquiao is an Icon loved by all. His achievements inside and outside the boxing ring are undeniable. This is the type of athlete we need to purify boxing again. Canelo Alvarez has a chance to take this seat. Yes, the task is daunting and seems impossible, but this may be the right time to catch Floyd Mayweather. Floyd should be the favorite because of his effective defensive, running style, but youth, power, intelligence, a 100% Pro Mexican just might be enough to pull off the upset. Floyd’s recent news of being dropped in sparring by a body shot, and the on going quarrel with Miss Jackson and another beautiful model only adds to Floyd’s chance of losing. Let’s root for Canelo to pull off the impossible.

The hype machine for this fight is overheating! It’s like a dozen articles here on the front page for Money vs. Canelo. Yeah, it’s a good fight, but this is just too much!
