Arreola would KO Wilder fairly easy, then cornhole Wilder in the ring in front of a world wide TV audience.

Deontay has the potential to beat Arreola but was has he proven to deserve that opportunity? He won’t fight a prospect like Bryant Jennings, all he doe is fight guys with losing records and expects to jump up to fight title contenders. BS. Earn your keep Deontay. Arreola fought his way u and you need to do te same!

Posted September 27, 2013 5:17 am

I’ll tell you right now what is going to for sure beat Wilder. A fighter thati a not scared runs in and gets inside of his reach right in his chest and starts pounding on him. If that happens HE IS DONE! His arms are too long even if he does land inside he won’t generate much power and I don’t think is defense is good at all and he’s not gonna have a clue what to do when he gets tagged and hurt (ala Lucien Bute/Carl Froch).

Posted September 10, 2013 7:52 pm

My point is that I do somewhat agree. People just want to see Wilder fight a real fighter. Personally, I’m not one that slowly began to think anything more than I already have. He’s fighting bums and looking rugged doin it. He has power but who’s chin do we know that he has fought sets the curve for how hard he punches? I’m not convinced AT ALL! I like Arreola and he wants a rematch with Stiverne. As I said, it was really a good fight and I’d love to see part 2. I don’t care if he chooses Wilder because I feel we will finally get alot of questions answered. And personally, I think right now, the hype bubble would be popped, certainly. I personally think that Wilder should fight Amir Mansour. As he’s done very little to even be considered by Cris and doesn’t have anything fringe to offer up. Seriously, be reasonable. Who wants to fight a guy who hasn’t really earned his way? A skilled fighter will see his punches. They are wild and looping in most cases.

Posted September 10, 2013 7:47 pm

Oh come on Dionysus, you and I know that Wilder is the most talked about prospect right now, because he has a perfect KO record and regardless of opponent he has demonstrated very good hand speed for a heavyweight as big as himself, allied with REAL power.
It was only about a year ago when guys like yourself were doubting that Wilder had any real power because his opposition was so weak, but slowly that opinion is changing……..Wilder does seem to have genuine power…….but as I keep saying Wilder main weapon is his speed, not many current heavyweights will see Wilder’s punches coming……and that is what is going to take him further not just his power.
Now should Arreola take on and beat Wilder, then Arreola will get all the Kudos that comes with it, hell he’s even getting a little bit of Kudos by knocking out “No Defence” Mitchell.
If he takes a rematch with Stiverne, most boxing fans would be somewhat disappointed, even if he were to beat Stiverne…….so what that would make then even…….and we’d need another fight to decide who was the better man.
A Wilder fight is MUCH more attractive fight and I’ll doubt there really is as much appetite for a Stiverne rematch right now.

Posted September 10, 2013 12:18 pm

KL, who are all these people? I was surprised to see Stiverme do what he did and I think most, if not all others watching were as well. After the expected easy win against Mitchell, maybe he feels that he knows he can win for sure next time and that will mentally put him in a better place. It was a great fight! I wouldn’t be against a rematch! Not with Arreola saying he wants revenge. Those boys were beating the hell out of eachother! Wilder Arreola would be fine too but only because thy hype needs to end. Wilder brings nothing to the table, Stiverne has fought tougher guys and is still undefeated and that’s unfinished business with more reward. If you beat a guy like Wilder, its like: congrats for beating up a turd beater?

Posted September 10, 2013 12:03 am

Surely a wild puncher doesn’t hithis target too often……but 29 KO all inside 4 rounds kinda suggest that Wilder is a more accurate puncher than seem to suggest.

Posted September 9, 2013 1:15 pm

Dionysus, I suspect a shot Liahkovic could put you in a nursing home, in about as much time as Arroela did with dispatching “no defense Mitchell”.

Posted September 9, 2013 11:17 am

Dionysus the problem with Arreola / Stiverne rematch is that nobody other than Arreola wants it……..the the fans aren’t that interested nor are team Stiverne that interested…….perhaps a rematch in the future when both fighters have progressed onto more victories…… but just an immediate rematch with Stiverne……. no it’s got no appeal right now. Wilder vs Arreola has got masses of appeal because boxing fans both for and against Wilder want to see him in with a tough dude like Arreola, it’s the one that fans now want to see……surely that STILL counts for something?

It’s Me, Ernie

Sorry RGR, Fury doesn’t have a chance…

I’m sure Wilder and Fury have been stirring the pot over twitter insults…..Will be good if it happens and we see OSCAR DE LA HOYA yapping to anyone who will listen that he has the ” blueprint defeat Fury!!!”

With each day that passes ODLH sounds more and more like a clown and is morphing more and more into his rival ROB ARUM….

It will be funny to see Fury tie Oscar up in knots with his witty comments and refuse to engage with Wilder like he has been dong with HAYE.

If HAYE beats FURY the only worry will be that WILDER doesn’t tread on his toe before he big fight!

Oscar has been busy on twitter calling out ARREOLA, but how about we get him to match WILDER with either HAYE or FURY?????

ARREOLA will have his hands full with STIVERNE II!!!!!

If as expected Vitali vacates the WBC belt, Arreola could potentially fight Striverne for the vacant belt, why then would he take a step back to fight a guy who has beaten nobody?!

Posted September 9, 2013 7:36 am

i’m not being disrespectful to you, just pointing out facts. No way you can say he WILL NOT. If you say I hope, or I’d like to see Wilder pull it off.. it’s understandable. On that note, I can’t say Arreola will definitely beat Wilder, for the same reason! too many questions. There are so many questions about Wilder because he’s fought 28 never heard of guys pretty much. The last one was pulled from a nursing home I think. You have never saw him clocked and have to recover or even get up off the floor. He’s never been past like 4 rounds and no, it’s not because he’s a world beater, it’s because he’s fighting what amounts to grocery store stock boys. The only proven things of both are about Arreola.

I know, Just like Seth. I gotcha. ; )

Posted September 8, 2013 11:43 pm

Tark, I hope it’s interesting. I think Malik Scott looked better in the fight with Glazkov even though it was a draw. Hopefully these two guys’ styles compliment each other for a real good fight.

Posted September 8, 2013 11:21 pm

Glazkov vs Adamek… Another great heavyweight fight on NBC on Nov 16th

Posted September 8, 2013 10:21 pm

Yeah, those guys are bangers

Posted September 8, 2013 10:00 pm

It`s a shame Boytsov-Chisora didn`t come off – that would be a nice fight to add to that list too.

Posted September 8, 2013 9:54 pm

Good point Tark! It is a good time. Starting to get interesting.

Posted September 8, 2013 9:39 pm

The heavyweight division is extremely exciting right now…

Haye vs Fury is coming..

Povetkin is finally going to get his ass kicked by Wladimir.

Pulev and Stiverne are looking for opponents..

Jennings and Hanks might meet..

Wilder and Arreola might meet … all Arreola has to do is say “yes.”

No other division has this many potential matchups shaping up.

Posted September 8, 2013 9:33 pm

Proud African…. What happened? You were all about Seth last night? You give up on him? Who you takin’ after Wilder gets his head smacked off? Bwahahaha!

Posted September 8, 2013 8:59 pm

I commend Wilder for calling out Arreola, but his people need to tell him to shut up! He don’t need Arreola right now. His people have him on a fast track to ultimately fight a Klitschko for BIG money. Yeah I think he should fightArreola, but it’s not going to happen. It’s not right but that’s the way it’s done in boxing today. Yeah Wilder has not beaten anybody but CASUAL boxing fans don’t care about that. HBO or SHOWTIME will sell a fight with Wlad or his brother just because of Wilders 29-0 WITH 29KO’s. Seth Mitchell may not have the boxing skills, but he at least shows the heart and balls to want to fight anyone!

Posted September 8, 2013 8:41 pm

Posted September 8, 2013 7:09 pm

Wilder should fight Haye,i would love to see Haye get KTFO!

Posted September 8, 2013 6:25 pm

Arreola doesn’t have to fight Wilder if he doesn’t want to … and he probably won’t… What happens if Wilder has to go more than 4 rounds??? We dont know yet.

But I think this will be another early stoppage for Deontay. Even Mitchell had no problem hitting Chris. He’s just completely lost on defense.

Posted September 8, 2013 6:22 pm

WHO IS Deontay Wilder to talk about Arreola is afraid to fight him since after 29 fight he hasn,t fought a top 40 heavywieght. What a hipacrit DeontayWilder is.

Posted September 8, 2013 6:09 pm

I would like to see a HEAVYWEIGHT TOURNAMENT involving:

This will sort out the wheat from the chaff….

The winner or last 2 standing can then e shots at the KLITSCHKO Brothers!

Posted September 8, 2013 4:08 pm

Prof Konje

A good match-up would be Chisora and Wilder. This way the one bum (Chisora) will be out of the picture (as he should be) if he loses, and Wilder will be exposed if Wilder loses. Make that match-up and leave winners like Arreola alone. I believe that Arreola will beat either Chisora or Wilder. But at least Chisora fights ral fighters, Wilder just talks and fights ?????.

Posted September 8, 2013 3:58 pm

fighting words, I think its because the K’s looked polished all around and Wilder still looks like raw Toughman contest looking talent and when he beats a no-named bum he jumps around like he unified the belts. The K’s never did that.

Posted September 8, 2013 3:04 pm

KL, I think you have taken Arreola’s personal journey toward revenge mistakingly as him dodging or being fearful of fighting Wilder. I would choose a weaker fight with Wilder 3 times before I picked Stiverne once. Stiverne is polished somewhat and has a ton of power. You also know the guy has a chin because Arreola was banging away on him and he didn’t go anywhere. We can’t say the same for Wilder because,… again, he’s fought NOBODY!

Posted September 8, 2013 3:02 pm

Fighting Words

It is remarkable how some comment based on little knowledge of the fight game. I have read that Wilder has not fought anyone in the top 10. I wonder who are those top 10 super stars the Mild brothers have been fighting . Wilder have done very good for himself, his trainer are bringing him along just right not rushing him into big fights that’s how Tyson was brought along until hr became a solid fighter then he exploded.
Wilder will overwhelming arreola with those looping. Punches and he will crumbling, sort of like what Duran did when attacked him that way catching Duran and he fell face first out for the count . Wildest will do the same to Arreola

Posted September 8, 2013 1:09 pm

te tumbo

this pundit seems to be taking “Nightmare’s” PUNKING of “Mayhem” personal . . . (lol).

Posted September 8, 2013 1:04 pm

Jorge Luis Gonzalez was killing it until bowe KO’ed him. Wilder will have a fight on his hands if he gets in the ring with arreola. if arreola wins, you have same old same old making Thompson as still the best. No one should get a ticket to wlad without thompson punching it.

Stiverne give him a pass. he’s canadian. he is canadian best and pushing 35. he’d be easy picking for wlad’s left, get beat down and KO’ed. stiverne would be a busy fight for wlad. USA does not have much more to offer as well.

Arreola would KO Wilder. The better question would be who’d be hunting who. Once Wilder realizes Arreola does not go down, Wilder fight plan is shot.

Arreola-Wilder is the fight to be made. It would clear a lot of questions on Wilder’s chin. If Wilder wins, then Thompson-Wilder. Wilder wins that. Wilder is a dangerous man. for kicks and grins, put jennings in the mix.

Jennings . . . that is a joker card. a fun fight adamek-jennings.

Thompson still is USA best and should be the gate to Wlad. Pulev did his business.

Fight that should be made: winner(wlad-povetkin) – pulev.

Box off in the USA, and then send USA best here to europe. The USA best got KO’ed and outpointed by the best in europe.

Posted September 8, 2013 12:51 pm

Wilder looks like a guy that can knockout anyone in the HW division. He has freakish power. now if he can land that power on fighters a step above who he has been fighting, I don’t know. It will be interesting.

I also think Wilder may have a suspect chin. So he can knock someone out but can also be knocked out himself.

Posted September 8, 2013 12:25 pm

People want Wilder to step it up, well, here you go. Just get the names to agree to fight him instead of people saying “What has wilder done?”

Everybody needs there shot to step out. Of course, they tends to happen when you make it worth the ri$k so they may need to pay Chris a bit more than his last fight.

Posted September 8, 2013 12:23 pm

Pratt……..the only guys that “like” to get hit are guys like “smokin Joe Frazier”……..hell even Tyson “hated” getting hit.

Posted September 8, 2013 11:34 am

eric, name some names, and then we can see if you are right or not.

Posted September 8, 2013 11:32 am

Well,..Sergei showed us in the little time he had with Wilder, that Wilder is open for the jab and left hook. Sergei landed a few and it looked as though Wilder did not like getting hit. Then Sergei got bombed out. I think Wilder gets TKO’d by Arreola. Arreola would be in Wilders face and being in close you avoid Wilders loping shots. Arreola Kills Wilder.

Posted September 8, 2013 11:31 am

It was much touted in boxing circles that the winner of Arreola/Mitchell might face Wilder……..but noticeably last night Arreola made no mention of Wilder, instead focusing on a Stivern rematch.
So those that say Wilder won’t fight anyone……..I think in this case it’s Arreola that doesn’t want Wilder, because it could upset his goal to become heavyweight champ, and to Arreola becoming heavyweight champ even if it’s for just a few months is more precious than a fight with Wilder.

Posted September 8, 2013 11:30 am

I see wilder as those white guys that couldnt really box or have a chin back in the 70, 80, 90s that the hype machine built up to make a big money fight, but these days the fans are to smart to fall for it.

Posted September 8, 2013 11:13 am

How can any fighter be afraid of wilder? any fighter that can box and move a littlec should be able to beat wilder.

Posted September 8, 2013 11:07 am

Nobody is afraid of Deontay Wilder and nobody need be because he is well aware of his limitations and had no intention of fighting anyone who fights back. Wilder will never be a world champion but his popularity has opened the door for him to enter the B-level heavyweight scene of Arreola, Chambers, Fury, Chisora etc. These fighters are all legitimately considered better than Wilder because of who they’ve faced. They can therefore choose to fight him or not, he needs to pursue the fights himself as the contender. Oh and for the record, I predict that Arreola KOs him within 3 if the fight ever happens

Posted September 8, 2013 9:51 am

Exiled Yank

We know Arreola can be beaten and baldly at that, Wilder is the one we know nothing about. He has major power and he does love to scrap, but that chin needs to be tested. GBP needs to step up.

Posted September 8, 2013 8:27 am

I meant “licking your chops”.

Posted September 8, 2013 7:51 am

Mogamed I guess you’re liking your chops seeing your chances against Arreola? How about a scrap between the two of you. You know no skills are required just pure slugging as you like it.

Posted September 8, 2013 7:41 am

pity the poor deluded fool the windmill aka the alabama jackass he could not hit arreola with a rabbit punch

Posted September 8, 2013 7:03 am

Arreloa would be in interesting matchup with wilder. Wilder with his 29kos is meaningless at this stage. He has stepped it up but now it is make or break time. He needs to face at least 2 top 10 guys. Arreola would be an awesome test.

Anyone saying Arreola was not well-prepared for Bermane doesn’t kmow what they’re talking about. Arreola took over a year to prepared for Bermane as the fight was called off multiple times with Arreola citing injuries as the cause of the cancellations. I guess he knew what he was gettting into and talked about boxing Bermane ears off, which was funny enough knowing Bermane was a better boxer. Arreola knew Bermane had serious power and he knew when it lands flush it could be over, now had it not been for the bell in the third round the fight could’ve been over. In the fight with Seth, he got hit by Seth and just as I said earlier, Seth power is grossly overrated plus he had no chin which is a recipe for disaster, that wasn’t the case with Bermane since he has well proven power but likewise a suspect chin which held up well in the fight. Whilst, I’m sure it was Bermane’s power that made Arreola cautious in the later rounds as Barmane was clearly winded. Arreola will get a dose of the same in Wilder a lot earlier and then become tentative rendering him a sitting duck open for a big right hand and then it’s night night for the iron-chinned Arreola.

Posted September 8, 2013 6:17 am

Actually Dw, he isn’t. he has no reason to!

Posted September 8, 2013 5:38 am

wilder has fought not one ranked fighter. arreola has fought anyone they asked him to. shut the fk up, wilder, until you fight a ranked opp.

Posted September 8, 2013 4:56 am

I think Wilder’s reflexes are flawed. Especially if he is going to be pressured and intimidated by a heavy hitter with a good chin like Chris.

Posted September 8, 2013 4:42 am

the voice of reason

If wilder really said that then he should know better – arreola isnt afraid of anyone. This is a man with plenty of heart – maybe too much at times. How he bounced back to win in such style after the battering he got against stiverne is a real testament to his self-belief and guts. Wilder should learn some respect. Anyway – sure hope it comes off – what a great fight that will be

Posted September 8, 2013 4:35 am

Arreola would DESTROY Chisora, who doesn’t have the excellent punching power Arreola has.

Posted September 8, 2013 4:34 am

The people that Wilder has fought wouldn’t have even been quarter-way eligible for Joe Louis’s Bum Of The Month Club. When Arreola fought Stiverne he was too heavy, and really didn’t have a fight plan. Whether he can beat Stiverne I think largely depends on whether Arreola can stay dedicated. I think his weight this time around was much better (6 pounds less), but I’d like to see him between 235-240. Who knows- maybe I’m wrong. Maybe Wilder would beat Arreola, but I don’t think so.

Posted September 8, 2013 4:32 am

Arreola has a pretty durable chin and is powerful. Be careful Wilder.

Posted September 8, 2013 4:23 am

Next: Arreola vs. Chisora = TOTAL SLUGFEST! Two men enter, one man leaves. The other being most likely almost dead.

Posted September 8, 2013 4:10 am

I suspect that if they fought ….Arreola is going to win…since Wilder’s most serious opponent was …someone who is not even in top 20 ! Fighting some worldly unknown fighters and fighting a contender like Arreola is very big difference ! Anyway ….I hope this fight happens …it will be very fun to watch, no matter the outcome :)

Posted September 8, 2013 3:52 am

Arreola would massacre Wilder just like he massacred Bermane. Lol I just can’t wait for this fight, just as I was confident that Seth going down against Arreola, I’m more than confident that this time around it’s Arreola that’s going to bite the dust.

Posted September 8, 2013 3:50 am

Arreola would massacre Wilder! Wilder hasn’t fought anyone of note AT ALL! Arreola has been in with the BEST and has VAST boxing experience, both amateur and professional. For Wilder to say that Arreola is afraid of him is FUNNY.

Posted September 8, 2013 3:28 am

Sad state of heavyweight boxing.

arreola has fought the best, wilder has fought s***. be quiet until you fight someone in the top 50, you bum.

Hey, That’s my Bike!!!

I’m not a big fan of Wilder. He is still a little bit unknown as he hasn’t fought anyone who will hit him back. Arreola will definitely do that, Arreola is definitely not scared of Wilder. This would be a good fight to see exactly whether Wilder sits as a contender or pretender.
