“and Floyd didn’t so much KO Ortiz as Victor knew 4 rounds was more than enough work to put in for his 5 million. After attempting to foul out, Victor made no attempt to avoid a left hook.” Tark? So you’re saying Ortiz took a “dive?” That he threw the fight? If that’s what you are saying, and if it was that clear to you (no insult or sarcasm intended here), why do you think no one else said or did anything about it?
One might also ask, why then, did Floyd throw any punches at all? Wouldn’t he know more than anyone that Victor left his hands at his sides for a reason? Wouldn’t he know that Victor was intentionally leaving himself wide open? That he didn’t even raise his gloves when Cortez called them back to the center of the ring?
That theory is a nice little bailout for Floyd’s sucker-punch win, but it doesn’t hold any water.Posted July 8, 2013 12:22 am

Canelo could be great. He hasn’t dodged anybody like Mayweather. Brandon Rios has the courage to fight Pacquiao, but not “Little Floyd” LF B Scared. He knows Pacquiao would be all over him for 12 rounds, and he would get KTFO.Posted July 5, 2013 12:51 pm
I’m not back peddling Ox Nard… The man did quit… The man did quit multiple times… The man is a serial fouler… The man has problems and insincerity is one of them… His statements about being elbowed 20 times by Floyd are a bunch of lying junk excuses.Posted July 4, 2013 11:02 pm
I see Good
CurlyQHoward Does this mean WARD will never fightGGG.. Canelo and FROCH are NOT cowards. They will fight GGG, and LOSE!!!! Watch WARD do the Mayweather shuffle AVOID GGG at all costs. Just like Mayweather did to PacmanPosted July 4, 2013 7:45 pm
Where the hell did they find this idiot, Mayweathers butthole? Every article this fool writes is bashing canelo. Total garbage!!!Posted July 4, 2013 5:56 am
I don’t have to prove anything to you Ox Nard…
Watch the video of the interaction in VO’s corner between rounds and you’ll see what I’m saying is true.
I suppose you don’t think Victor quit in the Maidana fight… didn’t foul Floyd deliberately… didn’t foul Lopez deliberately by hittng him in back of the head… and wasn’t DQ’d in another fight for deliberately fouling an opponent.
Get a clue man.Posted July 3, 2013 11:05 pm
Well I will say with Ortiz he may have been able to land a punch with some pop. Now does he have pop at 154, not really sure but at least we could of seen Canelo take a clean hit or 2. But Canelo would of destroyed Ortiz.Posted July 3, 2013 7:45 pm
In kind of a sad way, Ortiz is fortunate that Lopez broke his jaw, Canelo would have made him cry.Posted July 3, 2013 4:50 pm
The point is, VO’s a quitter and he quit in 3 fights.
The point is he’s easy to hit, and got stopped by Lopez… and Canelo was way too much for Lopez, hit him with the kitchen sink, dropped him 2 or 3 times, and stopped him with little effort..
Canelo is no VO … like this author is trying to depict in numerous articles.Posted July 3, 2013 1:27 pm
You’re the lying SOB… After he was certain the fight was stopped he pretended like he wanted to continue, and said words to that effect.Posted July 3, 2013 1:21 pm
This guy writing these articles he should be part Floyds entourage acting as his personal ringside cheerleader. This guy is just a simple fanboy with the means of posting his favorable worthless opinions instead of writing noteworthy insightful views of the fight.Posted July 3, 2013 11:48 am
Floyd’s worst opponent in the last 7 years was Victor Ortiz—a notorious quitter going back to his Maidana exploits. Floyd has amassed 2 KO wins in the last 7 years of his career—and Floyd didn’t so much KO Ortiz as Victor knew 4 rounds was more than enough work to put in for his 5 million. After attempting to foul out, Victor made no attempt to avoid a left hook.
After the hook smashed him VO looked incredulously at the referee—as if to say, “He’s hitting me, can you believe it?” Victor made no attempt to avoid a straight right—then he made no attempt to beat the count. There was a smile on his face that said, “I’ve done it. I’m in one piece … and I’m rich.”
This pundit loves to compare to Canelo Alvarez to Victor Ortiz.. He must be unaware they have a common opponent in Josesito Lopez.
Canelo Alvarez easily overpowered Lopez, landing 60% of his power shots. He mopped the floor with Lopez and forced a merciful and early stoppage.
Victor Ortiz was in over his head with the gritty Lopez. He took heavy shots to the head, including one that broke his jaw, causing him to quit again.
Quitting after suffering a broken jaw is reasonable—although many boxers have fought on with a broken jaw. What was stood out in Victor’s case was he complained that his jaw was hurting and he couldn’t go on. Then after he was certain the fight was stopped he says.., “Oh no… Don’t stop it.”Posted July 3, 2013 11:12 am
Ghetto Thug-judging by your comments “most of the mexicans who support this this con are the ones cleaning toilets in the States” your nic suits you to the T, only a child-like minded moron would make such a statementPosted July 3, 2013 11:09 am
Matt, An Alvarez win would be good for the boxing world, but I’m not going to be holding my breath waiting for it to happen.Posted July 3, 2013 10:40 am
Good post bt Matt.Posted July 3, 2013 10:04 am
@ Ghetto Thug: which country do you clean toilets in?
Also LOL @ the moron author once again suggesting Alvarez is no better than Ortiz.Posted July 3, 2013 9:24 am
on appearance his only advantage is size,he has really excellent timing but Money May has great timing, another schooling by the master.Posted July 3, 2013 9:02 am

Im still waiting to see if anyone can tell me of another fight in history where a catch weight was made and both fighters were current champs at the same weight. You all are in for a big Surprise on Sept 14th.Posted July 3, 2013 8:35 am
As for Alvarez’s movement (against Trout), it reminded me far more of the Monster in Young Frankenstein performing the “Puttin’ On the Ritz” dance scene rather than that of Fred Astaire.Posted July 3, 2013 8:32 am
So does this mean that Canelo will never fight GGG?Posted July 3, 2013 8:13 am
some valid points but what does he do that’s better than anything Money does?Posted July 3, 2013 7:51 am
Alvarez fought to a game plan in the trout fight. He out boxed the boxer, showed great patients and extremely good movement. I think he and his team wanted to put on a different kind of performance and I for one was very impressed. This does not mean he will always fight like this. I keep reading comments from people and writers saying he fights at a low pace and gasses out (this seems to only be based on the tactics he used in the trout fight). Watch some of his other fights! He can be a wrecking ball, throwing 15 punch combinations. The mosley fight was electric for12 rounds! He showed stamina and heart. I think he has shown every aspect of a great fighter and most importantly adaptivity and boxing IQ. I think the boxing world is in for a shock.Posted July 3, 2013 7:30 am
He must be a role model to ginger domes all over the gingerversePosted July 3, 2013 7:20 am
Peej..Canelo started his carriere at 154 ??? Hahahahahaha
Btw this pundit says he dominated Ortiz and stoped him?? Hahahaha wow how in the hell did he stop him??? By a sucker punch and you praise him for that ? Find some other fighter mayweather beat not Ortiz who mayweather was fighting scared like never before and he was lucky he fought a boxer who is a punk because he would have give big troubles to mayweather so don’t you praise mayweather for Ortiz fight if he would have broke a jaw like lopez did then you could have praise but not with a sucker punch !Posted July 3, 2013 6:15 am
Haha, He is a busy man/spirit!Posted July 3, 2013 5:35 am
If God is a creator of everything why would he need a PA, just sayin. LolPosted July 3, 2013 5:00 am
El Paso – the fight with Cotto wasn’t even close, check the scorecards. Even without the cards Cotto was lucky if he got more than 3rnds. Never in the history of boxing have I heard so much being made out of a boxer with a bloody nose. Every fan knows Floyd made that fight look harder by staying on the ropes. Do you think under Snr his gonna make that mistake against a possible LHW whose younger and possibly stronger than Cotto.Posted July 3, 2013 4:23 am
like i said, SLOW aren’t you?Posted July 3, 2013 3:04 am
The El Paso Fight Prophet
Peej you should rename your self to pee on, Your stupid as dirt. Canelo did not start his carreer at 154 you twit and nameless should be renamed to shameless. Dont know what fight you saw but by the way you describe it, Cotto almost got killed by floyd. Dont respond to me no more, your rants and comments are baseless. I will only respond to knowledgeable people and not nutthuggers like you.Posted July 3, 2013 2:37 am
Why won’t anyone argue the point that Floyd said Cotto was his toughest fight to date?” the el paso fight prophet, you most be one of those SLOW guys…why you want to take Floyd literally when he’s just been polite to an opponent? Why you want to believe Floyd when you CAN WATCH the fight and make your own conclusion? Floyd beat the crap outta Cotto, after that beating Cotto should retire if he appreciates his family and his health. The right-hand bombs Floyd hit Cotto with should be not allowed legally on behalf of the participant’s well-being. Who you think you’re kidding?Posted July 3, 2013 2:14 am
Floyd is a natural welter and Canelo is a Jr middle. Canelos team came up with the 152 catch weight. And Floyd is a titlest at 154 he is not a champ. And Floyd fought 2 jr middles who moved up to that weight. Canelo started his career at 154Posted July 3, 2013 1:36 am
The El Paso Fight Prophet
Ok then if you all know so much please tell me of another fight in history where a catch weight was made and both fighters were current champs at the same weight. Then I want to know who can show me a video of floyd stepping on the scale the day of the fight. And further More why wont anyone argue the point that Floyd said Cotto was his toughest fight to date. You all are in for a big Surprise on Sept 14th.Posted July 3, 2013 1:25 am
Canelo is gonna get some good work and experience as he gets beaten very badly by Mayweather. It is imperative his corner pay close attention and don’t let their guy take too much punishment. By the 8th round this should be real brutal stuff, but I do see Canelo showing the heart of a champion and going all out at the end and earning even more respect. Mayweather by MUD (mayweather unanimous decision)and rematch in 2015.Posted July 3, 2013 1:21 am
“Cotto sure gave May a run for his money” how? Because he bloodied his nose? Jr. beat Cotto like a drum and was about to detach his head from his shoulders. All it takes is one good jab to the nose to make it bleed. Cotto is getting too much credit for getting a beating.Posted July 3, 2013 1:18 am
For the love of boxing
Cotto took Trout for a chump and got a wake up call. Give him the same opituntiy again, all money on him he will come out ontop this time.
The El Paso Fight Prophet
I didn’t say Trout was better than mayweather but Cotto sure gave mayweather a run for his money and then cotto got outclassed in every way by trout. Floyd said Cotto was his toughest fight and Trout made Cotto look like a walk in the park. Do the math or do I need to spell it for you.Posted July 3, 2013 12:06 am
Camelot is the Champat 154 and Floyd is just a titlest.Posted July 2, 2013 11:59 pm
El Paso whatever Canelo is getting a boxing lesson I think May stops him, what a statement if he does hey? Then what you gonna say? Alvarez is not in the same league then May come on a lot of people had Trout beating canelo are you saying that Trout is better then Mayweather?Posted July 2, 2013 11:58 pm

This must be the first catch weight fight in History where both fighters are current champs at the same weight. This site is nothing but Bias writers and commentors alike. Cant wait to see the excuses Fly. I have made several picks on this website and all of them have been spot on. Im riding with Canelo to win this one leaving you all with your mouths wide open.Posted July 2, 2013 11:51 pm
Good article. Oscar is really hyping this guy. I like Canelo, but it will be a really big let down for his fans if he’s beaten badly. If that happens, and I think that it will, it won’t be Canelo’s fault, it will be Golden Boy’s fault. Oscar did hype Ortiz and now it’s Alvarez. Who’s next?Posted July 2, 2013 11:44 pm

Another bias article by a clue less writer. To compare ortiz to Canelo as Ortiz better knowing damn well Ortiz had already been dominated and stopped is proof this so called writer on this so called web site is in bed with mayweather. No excuses, Canelo is going to crush your So Called Goat and I wonder what they will say. I know, you all will say Canelo was to big and came in to heavy. Cant believe you all dont mention that the fight is at a catch weight when floyd is wba super champion at 154.
