Tark you suck ! Hopkins 43 if thats the excuse your using then what excuse would you use if Hopkins beat Calzaghe. Tark put your fat head with no brain in the sand.

“Calzaghe destroyed Hopkins” Right. A split decision of destruction.. How impressive can you get against a 43-year-old?

SOB,alias “hometownonly-Andre” has again all the advantages on his side. The only reason to watch this boring UD-Ward is the little hope of Dawson KOing him.

I always feel Tyson-Douglas is a poor example of an upset as Douglas got the benefit of a long count so Mike should have won – yep I’m a Tyson fan

Kid Blast…. Your Leonard vs Hagler analogy is a very good one—with Dawson being a southpaw Leonard who wants to box and Ward being a orthodox Hagler who wants to get inside, bonk and rip …. But this time Hagler doesn’t give away the first 4 rounds by fighting southpaw — and moves his head well enough not to get blistered with 30 punch flurries in the final seconds 15 seconds of a given round.

There’s no reason for the author to evoke Tyson-Douglas when talking upset. Dawson is reportedly anywhere from a +300 to +350 underdog. Douglass was a +4,000 underdog. IMO Ward does his typical rough house game, throws off Dawson’s pity pat/run game and wins a clearcut UD. There’s an outside chance at a TD on cuts because Ward will head butt him a few times but if they had a line prop it’d be around a +2,000 bet.

“I see Ward winning this one easily as he will get into Dawson’s head and roughhouse him with butts, elbows, and other semi-dirty stuff that will upset Chad’s fight plan. Dawson complained to the referee several times about Hopkins’ tactics and while John Scully will do his best to prepare Dawson, Ward is no Hopkins and will prevail by a dominant UD. This is a bad matchup for Dawson, particularly given the catch weight and the home advantage for Ward. It reminds me a bit of Leonard vs. Hagler in that respect.”

after watching 24/7 i think wards a really likeable guy now. i use to not really like ward. but im a big bad chad fan and im pulling for chad. this is really a great fight that hbo put together so i dont feel so bad getting HBO again just for the klitschkO fight. i had cancelled hbo and was just rolling with EPIX and showtime. epix was showing all kinds of awesome fights. i thought they were taking over. and had dan rafael and freddy roach commentating. epix has already extablished itself as the REAL DEAL. Its gonna be an awesome night of boxing with a klitschKO bout and dawson vs ward

I would love this to be a really tough fight but I have a feeling it might get ugly. If not I believe it will be a bit of a chess match with Ward timing Dawson, leaping in and roughing it on the inside. However, if Dawson manages to control the distance well (and it will be difficult against Ward) we might see Ward get in some trouble… Ward by close and/or controversial decision.

The end of Ward myth, Dawson by TKO between rounds 7 and 10

I meant: Ward needs to keep the outside boxing contest reasonably close, work his way inside, and dominate there with his terrific brawling skills.

There’s a small chance, not a very good chance, of this fight being stopped on cuts. This fight isn’t being fought in Canada and I assume both corners have expert cut men. Kessler is the only recent opponent who’s eye Ward has bonked open with headbutts and that fight was stopped almost as much from the beating Kessler took as from the cut eye. Kessler was way behind, taking a terrific whipping, and wasn’t showing a major desire to continue. Ward uses his head, shoulders, and forearms for leverage. That is not strictly legal, but he doesn’t ding you like Holyfield …. The rest of this analysis is pretty good. Dawson needs to box, stay out of corners and off the ropes, maneuver like crazy, employ expert clinching skills, try to keep 80% of the fight at jabbing range, use quick flurries when Andre charges in, and spin off in a flash. Dawson needs to keep the outside boxing contest reasonably close, work his way inside, and dominate there with his terrific brawling skills.

Pistol Pete

Dawson`s rally against Pascal in the late rounds was too little too late. He gave away a lot of early rounds. Ward does not give away rounds like Chad.
