Crap article. Chavez actually defended the WBA Lightweight title against Rodolpho Aguilla then unified against Ramirez. In fact he fought 4 times after Rosario before meeting Ramirez. Chavez averaged about 7 fights a year both on big networks and off. Todays champs are fighting like 3 times a year at best. Ive always believed in that boxers are better for being active. Its best to reduce the sparring and fight regular. Makes you wonder if someone like Floyd Mayweather could or would fight someone like Henry Armstrong every month for a whole year. I know Armstrong fought something like 24 times in a year on one particular time.

Chile- neither was sweet pea. He would have done better at 140. And the WBC is crap.

Jose….were you also in on the Chavez / Whitaker fix? We didn’t need to see you hugging Chavez in the ring after his fights
